  • All the other videos of live steam I saw the train jumps forward, then runs too fast.

  • I dont think that was a good idia. You shouldve done this very carfuly whith a picture of a post-war A4 which didnt have the valances

  • You are running it with the RED light on. It is supposed to be GREEN!

  • @MrHeadsocket This is probably caused by a slight misadjustment of the contact wiper controlling the red and green light. If the loco runs a little bit faster, the light will be green.

  • @dampfmaggus Ahhh, ok. Beautiful, I have ordered one.

  • can u put the valances back or have u put them back completerly

  • @MrFlix76 Valances are removed completely, no way back.

  • @dampfmaggus your brave

  • @dampfmaggus New shell.

  • Diese Bilder sind einfach rattenscharf ;)

  • This might sound a silly question but I thought they did this in BR condition with the skirts removed anyway.

  • Yes, correct. Live steam A4 is available without skirts in BR-green an war black.

  • @dampfmaggus how much does Silver Link cost as a standard Hornby locomotive?

  • @crazyracer12, it´s about 150 to 170 GBP

  • @dampfmaggus I gotta save up then O_O

  • Hello,it's amazing you can run a Hornby live steam locomotive such slowly.

  • @houtokur8

One the train is well run in (over 10hrs actual running time) you can do this easily.

  • is the cab light yellow or does it go green and red

  • The cab light normally is green during run and red during stop. There seems to be a slight misadjustment of the contact wiper causing this loco to run with red light at slow speed. I don´t care...

  • I agree, it does look very good - even if it is a fictional modification.

    Nice one.

  • Looking good!! Prototypical or not, who cares? You've made a fantastic job of it!!

  • Very VERY nice. I for one think it looks better without the skirts. Did the prototype run in that livery?

You've really motivated me to get my 3 (yes 3) live steamers repaired/serviced and running in that huge empty building at work!

    Watch this space.

  • As far as I know the livery of the prototype is only correct for the loco with the skirts. Without skirts it should be different, but I don´t care. Get your steamers repaired and have fun with it! Thanks for watching.
