@kritiker14 When I was growing up and the super nintendo was released I always liked the look of the american system but couldn't afford to import one dude. Also the US system runs at 60hz as opposed to the PAL system which runs at 50hz so the games run smoother plus they also display full screen unlike the PAL games. PAL streetfighter 2 for example is extremely slow and nearly unplayable in my experience and has massive borders while the US version runs really smoothly.
@kritiker14 I'm from Belgium and I also mostly try to collect NTSC games. The labels are easier to read when the games are loose.. and they stack way better when you put them loose together, but I have to say that I do own about the same number of PAL games as NTSC games, but ofcourse I do own a lot of the NTSC and PAL exclusive titels. (Currently looking for Sailormoon and Dragonball games on PAL)
why do people retire from collecting these, im still going good with super nes lol , 161 games and growing , thanks to a pawn shop down the \street i owe alot to them without them i would never hav found all the games plus get this super castlevania 2 days ago 3 bucks i looke on line they want 30 bucks at the cheapest and 150 big ones lol
@ninendowii2000 Thats a great price dude, if i could get the games anywhere but ebay id have a lot more but unfortunatley i have no choice so i have to take it slow and find the best prices i can :)
Oh what? No RPGS? Not your style huh, well, I'm going to be doing my SNES collection, and then another video of my other stuff, I accumulated a massive collection since Feb of 2010, and now pretty much retired from it. You have a pretty decent snes collection, thanks for the video!
@badazzboxer Thanks dude, im taking it slow to build a nice colection as it can be expensive buying snes games as im sure you know. Yep im not an RPG guy dude, have tried to play them but they are not my thing. Will try zelda this year on wii though as it looks pretty cool :)
@timetravelpirate Thanks dude, its a hard thing collecting for snes but very satisfing, what games do you have so far? Are you collecting as many as you can get or are you going for the full collection?
@Snestastic >>> I have about 50-60 unboxed carts both PAL and NTSC - just pick them up as and when, they are pretty rare in the 'wild'. Some of my favs are Donky Kong 1 & 2, Metroid, Illusion of Time, Star Wars, Mario Kart. Theres some good platfomers as well. Id love to get hold of Mario RPG or Chrono Trigger :}
@timetravelpirate Very nice dude, yeah even loose carts are silly prices online, if i could get american games over here in shops it would be so much easier, ebay is a joke most of the time lol I really weanna get metroid as ive never played it but its just so bloody expensive :( lol
@Snestastic >>> Bite the bullet and pick up a copy of Metroid! It's quite possibly the best game on the system. Also I think it's my favourite Metroid title. That said I do really like Metroid II on the Game Boy - Have you played it???
@timetravelpirate The only metroid ive played tbh is prime on the GC which was pretty decent. Metroid for snes in decent condition boxed complete is gonna set me back between $70-100 plus shipping and then i have to think about import tax lol such a pain in the ass :)
your videos are awesome, great collection! i might post a video of mine one day when i'm not waiting for any games in the mail, best console to collect for =D
@AndrewDaniele87 Thanks Andrew glad you liked the vid dude, if you do post please let me know so i can check it out :) Agreed the snes is by far the best system ever, just a shame the games are so damn expensive lol
I'm really excited about watching this one mate, tried to watch it on my iPod at work but I think the length was too much for it... I have the same problem with the ladies ; )
Hehe, seriously though as a huge fan of both American games and the SNES I'm blown away by your collection, great work mate.
@DANW547 lol thanks Dan, as you know it can be tough importing but its so worth it once the collection begins to build. Hopefully next year ill manage to fill the 3rd shelf and move onto my next bookcase, gotta make a real effort to get castlevania 4, contra 3 and streetfighter alpha 2 this year, expensive but essential :)
Great collection video dude, you should check out Air Strike Patrol, its an amazing game and one of the few i managed to complete on the SNES, its basicly like the Strike games but with airplanes instead and is far better than Desert Strike.
@wrestletube1 Id agree dude i think the sega version really nailed it, the snes version is a great game but the sega aladdin is more true to the movie for me :)
@Snestastic Yeah, there was only 1 or 2 fake music tracks including Band On The Run by Paul McCartney & Wings on the Megadrive version.
On the SNES version there was probably more than them.
The SEGA's YM arcade sound chip suited the games mood more as well which is probably why on this particular game SEGA wins an all rounder including music.
@wrestletube1 Agreed, i don't like to say sega beat nintendo but they did for this game lol but snes still kicks megadrives arse on streetfighter so im happy lol
@HUGEreziFAN Sorry about that dude i know a few people have had the same problem latley, i did try to contact youtube and find out why but i can't find a direct email contact address which is a bit annoying :) Thanks dude glad you liked the collection, its my fave collection and im really proud of what i have so far :) Merry Christmas dude and a very happy new year :)
A mighty fine collection of quality titles, every game in there I'd happily sit down & play, like you though rpgs are not my bag, simply never got involved, I did recently get a shock though, what do you think to this, one of my most played wii games when it came out was Paper Mario, loved it, to me its a platformer but somewhere I read its classed as a rpg, does this mean I actually can play & enjoy rpgs & simply never even knew I was doing it? lol
@craigsheree Thanks Craig, I wanna try and buy only decent games if i can which shouldn't be too hard lol How does paper mario play? Ive always thought it was an RPG and stayed away, maybe i should give it a shot then?
@Snestastic Paper Mario is a great game, I really loved it & played it a lot which for me is a big thumbs up as I dont tend to put much time into games. I was the other way I thought it was a platformer which is a genre I do love, to me a rpg is where you wander around or in my case getting lost picking things up that you have to use to progress, Paper Mario on the wii may be another title to look out for if its come down in price as its old or you can always borrow mine to see if you like it?
@craigsheree Nice one Craig, ill have a buthcers at some youtube footage and see what its all about :) Yeah with RPGS i don't get them, i tried FF7 once and was like WTF is going on lol I wanted to attack people and couldn't it was very wierd lol and with zelda i just wander around not having a clue where to go and using my sword on random characters lol
@Snestastic lol, sounds about where I'm at with rpgs, its a shame but then judging by the huge time people can loose to them its maybe a good thing, leaves me more time for shooters & beat em ups, after watching your old FF3 vid I put my feelers out for the jap copy Final Fight Tough which I managed to pick up for a very good price of £50odd boxed, as you know thats normally a £100+ game, problem is its stuck in the post somewhere from Japan so I may not have it before xmas :(
@craigsheree lol i agree Craig, ill stick with FPS and platformers its much easier for me :) Congrats thats a brilliant price, the cheapest i ever managed to get a complete mint jap copy was $24 from a crazy guy in china lol was probably bootleg but looked legit, hope it arrives quickly, such a brilliant game :)
Man Pete, this is one of the only vids I watched on 720p and full screen cause the SNES is the king of retro!
Man I had no idea you had so many boxed games to be honest, I thought you were up to 20 not 41! I'm surprised you don't have any loose carts neither. Watching this has definitely made me feel like I need to upgrade to complete copies it's just so hard to find the titles i want (mainly RPG's) with good condition boxes that don't go for an arm and a leg.
@LMA187 lol nice one Lee good to see you using the 720p for the right reasons dude :) Yeah my collection has grown quite a bt this year, ive gotton really lucky with some of the more expensive mario games which helped me a lot, especially finding mario world black label, still can't believe my luck with that one :) Yeah the RPGS are way over priced on ebay its crazy tbh, do you check the army stores and thrift stores? Ive seen jhonnydeppfan get earthbound for a couple of dollars complete :)
Couldn't have asked for a better Christmas special or 500th video. Your collection is awesome...tons of quality games in there I need to get my hands on. Have a great Christmas Pete - hope to see more videos from you in the new year!
@CC10Gaming Thanks Ben, i might change the title to 500th video special :) Merry Christmas dude, hope you and your family have a fantastic christmas and new year and i also look forward to seeing new vids from yourself next year dude :)
Great collection Pete - love these kind of videos with a look on the shelf and a brief description of each game. That Rival Turf box art is truly wrong though lol Like you say, it's got early 90's cheese written all over it lol.......it's still my favourite era though :)
@bluetonic78 Thanks Alex, was difficult to shhot this one as the shelves are quite low which is why i stuck to shooting the top shelf lol lol yeah the box art is a shocker tbh, really lazy design lol
@Drexus80 Thanks Daz, yeah im slowley getting the important games, just need to get castlevania 4 and contra 3 now however having problems getting good condition copies for good prices, might end up shelling out for a sealed castlevania i think :)
I Love The Lost Vikings!! 1&2 are both Great. I Love the PS1/Saturn version of the second one as it has voice acting and animated CGI scenes as well as a new art Style would recommend it if you havnt got it yet : )
Great Video of an Amazing SNES Collection full of Retro gems!! All for the most part in amazing Condition which is so awesome, Hope 2011 is just as amazing for you and your ever growing Snes Collection. And all the others for that matter
@blaizevincent Thanks dude, i didn't know theres a sequel for lost vikings ill have to check it out dude :) Merry Christmas dude, hope you have a fantastic holiday and new year :)
@RedYoshi94 Thanks Dude, congrats dude the PS3 is a fantastic system, your gonna love it, well id say you have the best exclusives covered there dude, don't forget god of war 3 though :) Uncharted 1 & 2 and Heavy Rain will blow your mind, they are amazing :) and yep PM me your PSN id dude :)
@DillingerEscapeDan Thanks Dan, lol sometimes i can be too picky i think and it can be a pain trying to get a near mint or mint copy f a game but i always feel chuffed when i finally track one down for a good price :) Id reccomend both systems dude, they are both brilliant and really great to collect for and the games look great on display :)
You read my mind about the Rival Turf box art mate, I was just thinking how dodgely '90s it looked when you went and said it. Having said that I think it still has a certain magnificence. Sounds like the game is the same. ha ha
Excellent collection Pete, some absolute corkers in there and all in spanking condition as well.
Keep plugging away at Zelda dude, it's a good introduction to RPGs, we'll make a convert of you yet!
@LeBossu77 lol yeah its a bit shit that box art Owen, they could have made more of an effort, the jap box art is much better but not perfect :) Thanks dude, its taken me a while to get them all but im really starting to see the collection grow now and they look fantastic on display :) Ill have to sit down and try zelda again soon, i wish i could get into it as i wanna find out why everyone loves the games so much :)
@markvergeer Thanks Mark, the boxes do look fantastic on the shelf, just a shame the boxes are so delicate but then i am very careful with them lol Merry Christmas dude, hope you and your family have a fantastic holiday :)
@oldiron82 Dave good to hear from you mate, where have you beenlattley? Its been too long :) Thanks brother glad you enjoyed the vid, Merry Christmas too you and your family dude :)
As usual, great vid. Platformers are still coming out, they just aren't the massive releases that they used to be. If you're interested in a modern one I heartily recommend Super Meat Boy. It's a pretty tough, unforgiving game but it has a great sense of humour and some neat references to old retro games and systems.
@Snestastic Yeah, Super Meat Boy is downloadable on Xbox LIVE Arcade and Steam. If you want something to scratch that Lost Vikings itch, I'd take a look at Trine. Very similar kind of feel, available on PSN and PC. I agree though, more platformers is never a bad thing. :)
Your collection is very tidy Pete i love it! im getting back into the snes collection now that my girls are old eough to understand touching daddys games is a big no no lol
@Tonyippee Thanks Tony, lol do they get told off for touching your games dude? snes collecting is probably the most rewarding ive found so far just due to the difficulty getting as close to mint copies as possible for a decent price :)
@Snestastic Na i hardly ever tell them off lol im a softy with the kids! just since they knocked that drink on my boxed snes games i thought to hell with this im putting these ones away! so my snes collection is in long box under my gameroom sofa! along with like 7 boxed nes games. i need to replace my zelda link to the past box & my donkey kong country box :(
get some protectors on thos boxes there in good condition thats how you wanna keep them

@Bantam80 Thanks dude, yeah we need a lot more though :) Is super meat boy a downloadable game?
Snestastic 1 year ago
@Snestastic Yeah, Super Meat Boy is downloadable on Xbox LIVE Arcade and Steam. If you want something to scratch that Lost Vikings itch, I'd take a look at Trine. Very similar kind of feel, available on PSN and PC. I agree though, more platformers is never a bad thing. :)
