The believer in God has to explain why God permits such suffering. The atheist has to explain everything else - If a name appeared in the sky it would be explained as a coincidence. If it happened more often it would be explained as a natural phenomenon. If it happened all the time, it would be considered ordinary, not a miracle. - The lyingtogetyourmoney angle, I agree with that. The ask for faith in THEM, not faith in the transcendent GOD. And they screw you over.

@wanitek - Hi wanitek. I believe in God. I refuse to allow abusive religious pharisees to destroy that on me.  Had I stayed with the JWs, & without some good spiritual experiences before entering JWs, I could have come out of it feeling much like you & others do (non-belief). I didn't get out of JWs unscathed, that's for sure, but my experiences, before JWs, helped me hang onto my belief. I thank God for those experiences, even though I struggle the after-affects of abuse today. God bless!
