I am Brazilian, but I am not fanatic. I watched the fight between the two. I saw no good blows from either side so for me it would be a draw, but I see that these interviews Robbie Lawler suffered no mark on his face, while Renato Babalu Sobral was with the face all torn, disaster, lol ...

@TheScorpionsBR Its not scored on damage, its scored on points. There was no dominant round for either so there could be no 10-8, nor was there any points deducted, so that rules out a draw. Lawler landed the more powerful shots but babalu landed more shots in the first round, including punches, multiple knees and kicks and also scored a takedown. In the second round he landed over 20 kicks on lawler. Lawler clearly won the third landing more strikes. Balau won the fight tho.

@madatgravity1984 Ok, I know your post is old news by now. But I just have to say this one thing. Damage is a result of effective punches, and are not effective punches worth points? Should'nt a punch that has more of an effect be considered more point-worthy than a punch with no effect? These are real fights, not fencing. So if the fight was that close, then something would have to be the deciding factor, I'd say the damage. Lawler won that fight.

@theusnmefighter You can say that but mma isnt scored on damage, its scored on points. Babalu landed more and leg kicks. mma wont get scored purely on damage. This is because some fighters have more scar tissue than others so it would be an unfair contest. I know not everyone agrees with how mma bouts are scored, but by the rules and the scoring system used Babalu won this fight, although it was a close one.
