Maybe it's just me, but I really like The Used I used to know as a teenager. I remember when they released their first album and how much I liked it. It was so raw and emotional. They really did a bang up job on In Love and Death as well, that is my favorite album to this day of all genres. I feel that after Branden "left" the quality of their song writing diminished a bit. Don't get me wrong, I still love the Used, they just seem to be a bit water-down now.
