I own the original script for this episode. Comedian Jackie Mason was supposed to do this episode and i have his copy..its a lavender hard cover with his name ingraved in it...its soo cool to watch it and look at the script at the same time.
"Goody Goody" originally became a hit for Benny Goodman's orchestra in 1936; Frankie Lymon revived it as a "rock" number in the late '50s. Menley & James [Contac] and General Mills were two of Judy's regular sponsors. At 3:26, a 30 second "station break" originally appeared {"This is CBS"/local commerical/"WCBS-TV, Channel 2, New York"}, leading into the second half of the show...
YES YES YES YES ICON ICON ICON...PERFORMANCE GENIUS---check out min. 1:12---killin' 'em with the eyes!!! Totally aware of the camera and WEERKING IT at all time!!!Thanks Rick---I'm going to figure out how to squeeze this into my class tomorrow....GOODY!

This woman is so unique... she puts her stamp on everything she sings.... almost as if every song she performs was written specifically for her!

Was she doing a Streisand imitation here? Or was Streisand imitating Diahann back then?
michaelmishaw 2 years ago
No, Diahann is all original. Diahann was doing a Broadway show in the 50s with the song "A Sleepin' Bee" which Streisand recorded and made a pop hit.

Diahann sure was cute! A very intelligent woman too, if you've ever heard her interviewed.
