Magical Tree Gameplay + Ending

I can't regognise the names of the ingame and level clear themes, vbut there well known. as for the game over music, it's and exerpt of "here we go round the mulberry bush". And the game start music is "picnic". I know someone called the level clear theme "one little indian" but that caused confusion with some similarly named song with a completely different tune...

I love you. I played this when I was 2 or 3 years old. It's its fault if I'm a nerd now! Thanks for this, this game reminds me my childhood with my father. So cute!

When you get to 2000m, the game starts all over again.

Guess what, when I was like 10yrs old, I climbed to 2000m ten times in a row. It got more and more difficult (not much) but after completeing it 10 times, it started easy again, as if I had started a new game.

Ah yes, it took me a very long time and some help from Konami's GamesMaster to get further. It can be really tricky if you can only go up on one side of the tree, but the thing on the string won't come down! :P

I do believe some emulators let you save the complete state though. So you can keep on playing :D

Well I see you playing a game in your video. Surely that'll look nerdy in 20 years too. It's about childhood memories. You can't compare this game with games from today, but in its time it was great. We played it because it was cool, now we play it because it is fun.

Do you still own an MSX computer ou you are using an emulator? If so, where can I get this emulator plus the ROM?

I played this on a real MSX, using the standard video and audio outputs.

There are several good emulators, you can Google for BlueMSX, that should work.

For ROMs, check out romworld [dot] com, then in the menu on the left select MSX 1 or MSX 2. Magical Tree is an MSX 1 ROM, so select that and then select the letter M.
