@Jessica76649 Actually that person lied to you. It's just started it's called One Ocean and the name of it was released over a year ago. Unlike believe this one does not include trainers in the water with the orcas.
@sazmullium I did'nt know the name was released over a year ago but I do know that they started performing the new show at Seaworld Orlando(I think a weekend or two ago) and they're not gonna perform it at Seaworld San Diego till Memorial Day weekend(at least thats what it said on the Seaworld San Diego's facebook page)...
Sea world doesn't take killer whales out of the wild... They breed their own. But think what you want cuz I haven't been to sea world a million times or talke to anyone.. So w.e..
As sad as it is to keep them in captivity..they can't go back to the wild becuse they have been away form the wild to long and really wouldn't know what to do once they were released. Keiko died because he didn't know how to eat stringrays...but when im older my dream is to be an orca trainer...
Because it is sad that there even held in captivity and i feel bad for them and they shouldn't even be in there at all... but at the same time.. i want to interact with them.. like you wouldn't get 2 if you just went 2 seaworld and saw the show. I want to always be ale to interact with them everyday in my life and be able to be with them. They are amazing animals.... its really hard to explain if u don't get what im saying here...
i kind of get what your saying - these shows are incredible to watch, and the orca are breathtaking. but once you know the facts behind keepng these animals in captivty i would never be able to step foot in the stadium, i would feel too guilty. i would rather watch them in the wild.
I know it is hard watching them .. i wish that i could help them but if they put them back in the wild they will die. Like keiko but.. once these orcas pass on hopefully we dont capture anymore,i do feel bad i want 2 have that job as sad as it is.. u know.. but they are my fav animal and ppl see them as cuddly but look at what Till just did for the third time.. every orca is a bomb waiting to go off.. u never know.. and they arn't getting rid of Tilly.. he is here to stay...
these orcas are safer now then they were years ago if they were released now they would die in the wild corky is 40 years old and ulisies is 31 years of age they are very healthy and happy they are loved every day by their trainers and are fed all day and there is a vet on staff
if they are so "healthy and happy" why are they fed anti-depressants and tranquilzers why are there so many cases of agression towards themselves, other orca and trainers. why are there so many miscariges, why are there so many early deaths. why do they pace the tanks for hours in the same swimming pattern (on the webcam), why does lolita display such neurotic tendances. why is pneumonia common.
