  • @jofus2019 - and where are you from if I may ask?

  • Glad the tree wasn't hurt.

  • CESSNA

  • didnt look like a near crash to me.

  • Up yours Jofus2019 - you try it and see how far you get.

  • pfft, Australian pilots.... just give up and stick to your road trains.

  • @jofus2019 TROLL!

  • wow its called landing UNDER 100 knots!

i usualy approach just under 60 knots!

  • That's hard core. Obviously had some engine issues, and had to get over the douches in the road. But he had full flaps, (looked like it any way). I hit the threshold at about 80 knts, and on the tarmac @ 65 knts or so. About average with 10 degrees flaps, and a 500 fps glide slope. This guy had a dirt road. Well done.

  • @CBKillas id usually go full flaps 75 over threshold and 65 on tarmac, lol dirt landings are fun so are sod.

  • @vidman520 I have yet to do dirt. Grass? That WAS fun!

  • where did he learn how to fly? why did he land so damn long?

  • Ever see any chemtrails or UFOs? :D

  • ASDFASD

  • 3 words: TOO MUCH SPEED.

  • Not too much, you don't realize how fast planes must go to fly until you see them this close as in this video

  • True, but there's a lot of mitigating factors here: trees on either side, possibility of cross-gusts moving you into them, possibility of animals emerging in front of your path, road defects you can't see. By the time you're ready to touch down, you want to be somewhere between approach & stall speed...in case the unexpected happens.

If it was a paved runway with no obstructions or other nearby tall stuff (a formal airport), this speed could be understood. But hey, he made it down, right?

  • stall speed is 55 knots, that's considered very slow,so the average landing speed for a 172 is about 65knots,btw 55 knots is about 60mph,so not to fast

  • Meh, maybe it was the lens, I dunno...

  • Hey AussieT904, fer shits sake mate, don't let on that he hit a tree, the bloody Greens will have his guts if they find out.

I can only pray that he did'nt scare any rare green three-toe'd tree frogs or damage any nest of the rarest of them all, the bare-breasted Nunga-Nunga, he'll be in deep shit if he has.!

  • Greenpeace are a bunch of wankers

  • @runiemage99 not to offend but to americans the term "wanker" dosent realy mean anything.........just call greenpeace dumbasses

  • That's a fucken pisser mate, only in Australia would they say something like that... XD

  • those comments make this video worth watchin :)

  • hahahaha

    "Fuck he hit a tree!'

    "yea"

    *both stand just stand there*

  • that sort of reaction makes me proud to be an aussie :D

  • haha bloody oath mate =D

  • Yair, they sounded rather 'frantic' to me too.

Hope they've done a bit of therapy, Dr. Bundaberg, or Nurse's Toohey or Vee Bee, have always helped me out of some pretty deep phsycological pits.

Only a suggestion though, just tryin' to help.

  • @AussieT904
