That's hard core. Obviously had some engine issues, and had to get over the douches in the road. But he had full flaps, (looked like it any way). I hit the threshold at about 80 knts, and on the tarmac @ 65 knts or so. About average with 10 degrees flaps, and a 500 fps glide slope. This guy had a dirt road. Well done.
True, but there's a lot of mitigating factors here: trees on either side, possibility of cross-gusts moving you into them, possibility of animals emerging in front of your path, road defects you can't see. By the time you're ready to touch down, you want to be somewhere between approach & stall speed...in case the unexpected happens.
If it was a paved runway with no obstructions or other nearby tall stuff (a formal airport), this speed could be understood. But hey, he made it down, right?
stall speed is 55 knots, that's considered very slow,so the average landing speed for a 172 is about 65knots,btw 55 knots is about 60mph,so not to fast
Hey AussieT904, fer shits sake mate, don't let on that he hit a tree, the bloody Greens will have his guts if they find out.
I can only pray that he did'nt scare any rare green three-toe'd tree frogs or damage any nest of the rarest of them all, the bare-breasted Nunga-Nunga, he'll be in deep shit if he has.!
@jofus2019 - and where are you from if I may ask?

Not too much, you don't realize how fast planes must go to fly until you see them this close as in this video

Yair, they sounded rather 'frantic' to me too.
Hope they've done a bit of therapy, Dr. Bundaberg, or Nurse's Toohey or Vee Bee, have always helped me out of some pretty deep phsycological pits.
Only a suggestion though, just tryin' to help.
