How can I get that XIM I am a old pc gamer and I hate the xbox controler but I love call of duty and black ops can you please tel me where can I get it
that is lovely man. i love kb mouse, thats why i play pc gaming, but your really taking advantage of those controllers guys lol haha. good job, must feel good :)
you wouldn't want to play a FPS game on a projector.
The field of view is so large its absolutely impossible to keep track of anything beyond the center of the screen, or very far from what you are looking at. A 17-mid 20" monitor you can easily see everything on screen without so much as a thought given to any area of the screen.
CR on a projector describes the image before it hits the lens, not the projected image.
10,000:1 in a projector once projected onto an optimal screen wouldn't measure the same as 1,000:1 on a monitor.
What you read in spec sheets is the panel's response time in ms. that has nothing to do with the amount of pre & post processing done to the image in the (monitor/tv/projector) before it is even sent to the panel. (which takes longer than the time the paneltakes to update)
If you read the description you can see I was capturing from a 36" crt tv (480i).
I typically play on a 17 or 24" LCD monitor, or a 52" Samsung lna750 LCD tv.
I greatly preffer the monitors, they easily wipe the floor with any TV in their lack of processing lag. The fact that you can scan the entire picture without having to adjust your view AND the fact that everything is LARGE because they have a wide field of view at their correct view distance.
u make very good points there, i do sometimes have to adjust my view and i get killed alot when i can see people on the edge of my screen, iv been saving for a good monitor screen for my pc and ps3, any suggestions? i have about 300 to spend
Not really. The quality/performance price point on monitors has been right around $200-250usd for maybe 10 years now.
Biggest points to watch on gaming monitors is the ACTUAL contrast ratio (now the "effective ratio" because they dim the backlight - you disable that for gaming) and the dot pitch size.
Response time is an inconciquential selling point. The monitors spend more time processing video signals than even a slow screen takes to draw. (Processing is why TV's are so laggy compaired)

I'm an avid BF2 player on PC but cant justify building a whole new PC for BFBC2 so i'm thinking about getting an XIM2 for BC2 on my 360.
I would have bought one already but i'm worried it wont feel like a true MnK on PC.
How hard is it to set up?
It looks like its working perfectly for you on CoD4, I wonder if will be as responsive with BC2.
Any insight?

Their contrast sucks
Their responce time generally sucks too
among being supremely expencive for a good one.

yeh i can imagine respone time isnt the best lol the gaming experience is quite fun tho.
what contrast ratio do u think?
the one i have is hd so it was quite expensive but as you say its not best for gaming but i enjoy it for sniping massive distances.

by the time you sit far enough back to be in proper viewing angle for the screen size, everything is so small you can't see it.
Toysrme 2 years ago
i only sit about 10 feet away from it so things are huge but sometimes i notice myself having to scan accross the screen.
I think the latency is a problem tho :(

having a look for monitors found some 24" full hd with 2ms and hdmi but the contrast ratio is always 20k
can get a 50k CR but then the ms is 5 :(
guess ill be getting a 24" with 2ms 20cr and full hd should be a nice monitor tho cant complain for £170!

the panel speed is inconciquential. it's the processing speed which isn't advertized that takes enough time to notice.
published dynamic contrast ratio is inconciquential. they're based on dimming the backlight.
when gaming you typically completely disable that feature. most panels are around a true 1000-2000 contrast ratio. 1000 is plenty, more is gravy.

nice facts :D i got 2k on the projector shame its 720p tho picture is very nice tho and looks great :D
how do u say the processing speed works then i thought that was the ms?
