  • quite similar..where im from , south india...the small pestle mortar for grinding spices into paste..lots of chilli usage..mannn i love everything abt asia _/\_ (salutations)..

  • im flattered ..sweet ....

  • I think I'm in love.

  • Instead of using soy sauce and honey for the peanut butter sauce, use hoisin sauce and nuoc mam (dipping sauce). It gives the sauce the sweetness and right consistency. Soy sauce isn't very Vietnamese. ;P Thanks for putting Viet food out there! lol <3 a fellow Viet girl

  • wow too annoying

  • Really wonderful,thanks for sharing.

  • The texture of the should should be the same like the peanut sauce. So just slowly add the shrimp water slowly. You can boil some Vietnamese bacon and use that water too. For a twist, you can even add a tiny bit of vinegar and chopped vietnamese or thai chili make the sauce sweet, salty, spicy and sour. This is my mom's secret sauce..and it's really good.

  • @jasluvtian I will definitely try your mom's secret sauce this weekend!! Thank you for sharing, and explain so well!! =D

  • You can make the sauce for goi cuon ( summer roll) using hoisin sauce. First cook some shrimp quickly with water. Use this water for later. Chop up some garlic and fry until golden. Put in some hoisin sauce, put heat on low. Then pour the shrimp water in and stir. Put in a litle bit of sugar..then you are done..do not add too much shrimp water that I will make the sauce too watery

  • @jasluvtian That's kind of how we make it! We put peanut butter in a nonstick pan with a little water and put it on medium heat. Stir it until it's paste-y or sauce-like. Add some hoisin sauce to sweeten. And we add some nuoc mam (dipping fish sauce) to liquefy it a bit more. Add chopped peanuts and fried garlic bits for garnish! ;)

  • @Chaucer129 you got it...thats how we vietnamese roll. Nuoc nam is essential...and never forget garlic. Actually the dipping sauce for goi cuon is not strictly one way. You can always flavor up according to your liking. However i noticed at restaurants, they only use peanut butter sauce to american taste.

  • What can be any better to watch an attractive Korean lady cooking goi cuon. Although not authentic but it's all good with a litle personal twist. I love the Korean pancake..it's similar to Vietnamese banh xeo. One suggestion for the creator.

  • to be honest ...this is not authentic VIET spring rolls .

  • haha ^^ it looks good. I'm Vietnamese and to be honest, I was kinda surprised when you use peanut butter for the sauce ^^ but i think peanut butter is easier than doing i the original way ^^

  • @Msdreamy123 Thank you for your honest opinion! I thought peanut butter will be easier and faster to make the sauce, and it is different taste from the original peanut sauce, but it works beautiful for my summer rolls. =)

  • Chef longest ^_^ i like finger foods yum nice bloopers at the end haha
