I love old-school RPG's with overworld maps, random battles, and turn-based menu battles. This game is classic, beautifully made, and a great buy. Well-balanced with awesomeness at every turn.

Im level 16 and i still cant beat the second guy, i try using prisim right of the bat to kill the little guys but they just randomly come back, so can you please tell me waht im doing wrong? ive died about 12 times

Are your characters immune to paralyze? I found that this match was a lot easier when the boss's special can't paralyze you. (extremly cheap status imo) Other than that, all I can say is try using Seth and Kaim to bring down those pesky-ass bugs, while Jansen pounds away at the boss with magic. (unless their gc is still high) Concentrate on trying to maximize the time it takes for the boss to charge. Also, I'd recommend potions over using cure because its much faster doesn't waste Jansen's mana.

I think it's probably because you are more used to Action RPG's by now, but back in the day, in the Chrono Trigger days, this was how it was played, and man. It was awesome.

Now it feels outdated but it's got cool mechanics like the rings.

@zethicus old old old old old old comment but i gotta say i prefer gameplay like this turn based combat in RPGs is best i mean look at pokemon how successful tht was with turn based combat and class game and final fantasy 7 and 10 then they go and make ff12 and ruin it dnt get me wrong good game but just ruined it a bit for me and ff13 was way to linear i like lost odyssey although i found this boss easy and the 1st boss hard lol

@temptstress666 I just couldn't get into Dragon Age...thankfully borrowed it from a friend instead of buying it. It looks pretty and I think the story-line might be compelling (didn't play enough of it to really get a feel for the whole story), but I just couldn't sink my teeth into the battle system. Single combat was fine, but when you had to rely on AI or on programming your allies to fight instead of getting to control their actions? Blech... I like to be strategic. It was frustrating.

But most of them are more into action rpg's like kingdom hearts and ffxii.. So it'd be a hard thing to achieve, some gamers, even some developers aren't patient enough to enjoy a good game with turn based battles. =)

i beat it!but in a little wile from here you go to a prison and you have to get by shit-loads of cameras and its super hard and recquires timing

Lol i beat it too like 2 or 3 weeks ago, but the cameras thing is SO easy.

Hint: Push every button on the way so that if you get caught you won't have to go thru everything again!

Use the elemental attack that attacks everything on the field with all elements, that helped a lot.

i love how boss battles actually get easier as the game goes on. by the end of disk 2 you'll be like "Yay this is so easy!"

I dnt think it's water element, I think it's thunder bcuz of the charge thing and in most rpg there is a stereotypical snake that can use thunder and swims in the water kinda like a eel.....interesting

i hav a skill that tells me the type and it's fire and the 2nd one always gets me too and also i hav another skill that tells me his health and they each have 1860 HP so yeah hope that somehow helps!

If your still having trouble with this boss, water magic has a greater effect on him.

It was very frusturating to beat this boss.
