  • @mymusicvidsandrants I do like TARGET. ALL the way. =) I love to shop.lol. Walgreens on the other hand is convenient for me to buy a box gloves than drive a few miles away to Target. Just sayin. I love both stores.

  • This is another really good example and reason to choose companies whose civic actions make one proud to spend their hard-earned money at.

  • i work at walgreens

  • @mymusicvidsandrants Oh I see..Could it be that Walgreens has to keep a particular parameter. I dont know. Sometimes it depends on the store manager or whoever is the hiring staff. Sometimes they choose the folks they know. Overall, I like Walgreens. It's convenient, even though they don't do price matching, I love to shop there. It's clean, organized and you get your stuff done fast bec it's a small store.

  • @mymusicvidsandrants Any company honey, I don't care if it's walgreens, target, walmart or whatever. Good business model example. Win-win situation for the company, employee and community =). Kudos!

  • One of many reasons I'm a walgreen's pharmacist...

  • Simply wonderful!

  • when is the warehouse gonna relize the misunfortunate is fucking up the totes

  • It's Lousy Customer Service at the Monterey Park, California Store.

  • Yeah, but you mess up one time and you work there for 8 years they fricken fire you! Then they claim it's negligence, but another person did the same crap a week earlier!

  • @bunnehop agreed... write ups that apply ONLY to you, but ass-kissers and girlfriends have no prob....

  • Why do they have a sign with the word "them" crossed out?

  • As long as there are white trash and niggers in the US there will always be walgreens and walmarts around!!!!!

  • fuck randy lewis and Richard Avery!

  • Warms my heart.

  • GOOD JOB WALGREENS!!! even people with special needs can take part in the ECONOMY! shame on those loser who fake their illnesses to collect MONEY FROM THE GOVT.

  • 0:41 Assburger syndrome? o.O

  • hahahahaha

  • hehehehehe

  • why is everybody so negative? these people seem genuinely happy with their jobs

  • it's a store/pharmacy.

they sell pretty much everything.. electronics, make-up, medication, kid's toys, craft stuff, food, and a load of other stuff. :)

    I ♥ Walgreens.

  • fake wallmart!!

  • thats funny because walgreens was around about 60 years before walmart.

  • Yeah I bet they pay them good too.

Didn't mention the fat tax credits Walgreens gets for hiring the disabled.

Half of them are disabled because of the perscriptions their mothers took.

  • in los angeles, we do not have gates at the metro station. so i guess you can steal free rides too. smart man.

  • I wish these people were in the stores. Some of the employees are super nice but most of them where I go hate their jobs. One time I asked this guy how he was doing and he said, Well I'm still here if that's any indication! lol

  • Thats why our products in our store come in all messed up and spilled all over the tote.

  • @SpartanCXVII Absolutely..... stock would be 4-5 bucks more inf not for waste...... 2-3 bucks more if not for shrink..... WAG SUCKS

  • OH, and here's the best part...

The prescriptions that are more popular in the $4.00 program, THEY'RE REMOVING THEM..!!!!

  • Now Walgreens is trying to CON people into buying a "Prescription Card" for $20 so that you can get some of your scripts for $4...

WAL-MART DOESN'T MAKE YOU BUY ANYTHING AND YOU CAN GET SOME OF YOUR SCRIPTS THERE FOR $4.00!!!!

It's never enough money, is it Walgreens???

  • It's not a con they tell you the cost up front before YOU decide to buy into it. Wal-mart can afford to offer $4 scripts because their profits are not made in the pharmacy but in their stores. The $4 scripts is just to get people into the stores and make them wait HOURS in order for them to walk around and buy crap. When's the last time you where able to get a script from Wal-mart within 15 mins or hell even the same day??

  • I call ahead, walk in and walk out in 5 mins.

  • That's great walk in with a new script and let me know what happens.

  • I'm never that desperate for an Rx. You can always get it the next day. Quit Whining Already!!!!

  • If your 2 year old is crying non-stop with an ear infection you'd be desperate. And because I have a point you accuse me of whining? LOL! What do you work for good 'ol Wally World? And speaking of whining you've posted the same comment on several videos if anyone is whining it's you.

  • hahaha

  • Comment removed

  • Welcome to the real world everyone. It is not Walgreens fault, its the economy. EVERYONE is affected, so stop whining and make do like everyone else is!

  • Our district let go of so many pharmacy techs...this whole call center crap with the pharmacy is losing customers and making the company look bad.

  • its not the managers fault. its the districts. they are trying to cut cost. my district cosmetics supervisor lost her job and got put into a store as a manager. they also cut the Easy saver program. the only ppl who get even close to 40 is the SBA and the Head Photo and its only 39. the managers got hours cut too. they went from 44 to 40. so its not just some stores its everywhere. i would like to get my 40 back and do my overtime.....39 hours sucks. 1 hour isn't much but it helps!

  • i freakin hate working the front

  • yeah they cut my hours too

  • I work on Walgreens but when there's a problem who they gonna ..........screw !!!!

ME!!! I want my hours back and also a free ride like them

  • I work at walgreens but im not retarded

  • SMILE.

  • the ppl working at my walgreens are sooooooo nice!

    GO WALGREENS!!!!!!

    :)))))))))))

  • Walgreens "takes care of us?"....yeah.....riiiiiiiiiiiiight! Tell that to the 1000 salaried employees they are canning because the company "cares so much!" Guess they have to make more of that Almighty Dollar. FUCK Walgreens!

  • I don't disagree that this sucks. However is it not fair? Corperate walgreens is generally so lax with everything and yet they don't get cut budget hours or anything else. Meanwhile the stores get the shaft (supposively they're going back to 2 assistants and a store manager, and possibly making store managers overview 3-4 stores). So in that regard its fair. However there are acquaintences of mine that are up in corperate so I hope them the best.

  • shinjig... I should have said Walgreens doesN't care about ANYBODY. As far as corporate being laxed, my spouse is really stressed out with all the work dumped on him. It's not because he doesn't know what he is doing. He has years of experience. He stays over every night and even goes in on Saturdays on his own dime and gasoline (we live quite a ways away.) Yet I imagine he will be out of a job within the next month. So much for being loyal to a company! It gets you nowhere!

  • I only get shit from one of my assistant managers. I accidentally didn't give the recipt (Because the customer walked out before i could) And i was forced to sign some paper. I don't totaly hate it, but it can be rough sometimes.

  • Walgreens sucks, i BOYCOTT them.

and yes, it is becuase i worked there and withstood bullshit treatment from management.

    FUCK WALGREENS

  • sucks to know that if you make a small mistake this company wont give you a second chance in part thx to the lost prevention guy, whos not really aware of the bad apples.

  • Walgreens treats their employees like crap! Click my video response above to see how. I caught them firing me, on record, for stealing .79 cents of pictures that never left the store, and that's not all.

  • They sure do, they're a customer first company and won't back their employees at all. However if you were fired then it was probably for good reason.

  • Like I said, watch the video I responded to this with. Walgreens fired me for stealing 3 pics that were still in the store after I complained about preg women working with photo chems w/o training. I stole nothing, OSHA proved Walgreens violated their rules and unemployment rejected Walgreens dispute of my claim after a hearing with a judge. I hope Walgreens collapses first in this economy and takes all of it's ass kissers down with it!

  • I don't know enough about the photos to make a comment about that, however your discriminitory remarks about that woman working in photo may have been what pushed walgreens management over the top. Was that what you intended, or was it concern vocalized poorly and misconscrewed as harrassment I don't know. However you still have a lot of anger in you for working with a company like walgreens so your opinions aren't exactly unbiased.

  • If you want to know enough about this to see that Walgreens sucks to work for, click play on my video, like I said. You do understand English apparently. Hear the loss prevention asshole fire me after I tell his dumb ass the pics are in the store. Hear the manager agree to it. See the chemicals pregnant women at Walgreens worked with at the store I was at, and believe me when I tell you that OSHA found them guilty and a judge ruled they didn't have valid reason to fire me. Pull your head out!

  • I do work for walgreens, do they screw over employees sometimes? sure, they did that to my brother (accidentally redeemed a raincheck on the wrong item and was forced to quit or be fired). But just because you've had a bad experience with them doesn't mean everyone else does. And judging from your anger, you may have deserved it. But hey, you're getting paid to sit at home and insult walgreens, so go you.

  • How many extra hourly pennies are you being paid to suck Walgreens ass through a thousand crazy straws? I collected 1 unemployment check and went to work for cvs, so fuck you and your assumptions about me asshole. Yes I am angry and always will be for being dumb enough at one time to get caught in a dead end job like yours. You have your reputation ruined and lose your job for reporting illegal activity at walgreens and see how fucking happy you are. Clearly the special needs prog is for you.

  • See your not presenting yourself in a very professional manner. That is how I'm going to assume that you decided to talk to management about your "concern". Which happens to come off very ignorantly and discriminitory. Which is against walgreens policy. Had you paid attention to the PPLs you might have learned that.

Also you've given no details on these photos that were stolen. How long ago did you have them made? If they were over a month old then you were at risk for being fired anyway.

  • OMG, PPL's, concern for pregnant women using hazardous chemicals discriminatatory? Against who? Pregnant men? Do you hear yourself? OMG dude, 1506 yourself before you become a total corporate whore. You want professionalism? Why the hell does Walgreens require hourly workers to call 20 yr old asst. mgr's Mr. or Mrs. while everyone else is on a first name basis. The more ass you kiss, the more ass you are expected to kiss. Que fuckin' Sera biatches! Is that professional enuf fo ya gay ass?

  • For one is the respect of the position. Two, that is no longer required as Corperate is trying to lessen the stress between service clerk and management and you may call them by their first name. Which started around the time you were canned. But obviously you wouldn't know anything about that, just your thirst for revenge.

FYI, CVS isn't exactly a step up from walgreens when talking about a dead end job. Heck considering you live in IL you could move up to corperate had you tried.

  • You seem to know a lot about the time that I left Walgreens. Were you there? I know corporate planned to change their Mr. rule, because I told them it was ridiculous and in keeping with slave days, Massa Tom! I don't want revenge. I want people to know what happened to me before they dump a penny in that hellhole. CVS and Walgreens is the same shit in different wrappers with top heavy management and low wage pee ons sucking up. I don't kiss ass, so no corporate ladder would benefit me.

  • shinjig!

You posted a momnth ago that someone should have moved up to corporate? That's a laugh.

We thought we finally had a solid job when we found this one. We thought wrong. Walgreens truly sucks! They couldn't give a damn about their employees.

  • Its sad but even they have to trim the fat. CNN experts were saying that walgreens was due for something like this for some time. Even Walgreens isn't immune to the reccession.

Also had you bother to read the artical, you'd know that they have several packages, first being a volunteery resignation. Which offers those employees to be paid 3 weeks severance pay for every year that they've been with the company. For long time employees that 18 months.

  • Tell that to a person who has already lost two jobs previously....due to downsizing within the last 7 years, someone who pulled up stakes to move so that he could have a stable job with a "stable" company, or so he thought. Severance packages mean NOTHING when you have only been there for three years but thought you could work there until you retired. It's hard to find another job when you are hitting 60.

  • I'm telling you right now. Life sucks, jobs suck, companies suck. There have been talks of auditing the employees in corperate for the last 6 months. This isn't something new, or something that just happened out of no where. Walgreens isn't above a recession, it maybe resistant to it, but it isn't abovie it. Though government jobs typically are. Try your hand at that, however it may take a while because of their screening process.

  • i agree keep cutting my dam hours

  • Having been working for the company for 5 years now, all I ask is that these people with special needs pack the merchandise properly because I get lots of 1506 lol.

  • made 4 years in walgreens and iam tired of working at my store. we need more union stores in the bronx so i can transfer.

  • I started working there about a week ago as an assistant manager and so far I really like it. The pay and benefits are excellent!

  • WAGMANAGER,I work my ass off at Walgreens distric 219,just to get "discriminated" for being disable.I was injure at work and couldn't be as fast as before so they let me go,as far as my duties i was sad cause till this day that place was my home the employees/customers became part of my family,so every time you go out and speak good of walgreens, some one else is taking them word off,I have 7mnths working as MGT @CVS knowing this,I think Randy Lewis is doing a great thing to Walgreens.Acevedo.R

  • Lot of Company's have a signboard EEO, who does it better than Walgreens? This is probably the best thing ever happened to mankind. I was present at the Las Vegas seminar and only thing that touched my heart when Randy Lewis was talking about his real life experience on employing those special people who makes difference to their life, ad their families.

I often wonder why God is so kind to this Company!!

  • Two weeks ago I quit my job as a special education aide working with autistic children in public school (bad pay - no benefits) to work as a Walgreens manager. I also have a teenage son with Hydrocephalus. He had 9 neurosurgeries last year and yes, I worry about his future employment. I am proud of this video on so many levels...I had no idea I was working for such a great company! Randy Lewis, I hope I have the pleasure of shaking your hand some day. God bless you!

  • I work at the Walgreens Distribution Center presented in this video myself, and on the same shift as Julie. Julie, who works in Case Check-in, who is in this video is one of my co-passengers, alongside two other Case Check-in workers. The department I work in is Pick-to-Lights (AKL). I did not appear in the video, but I know some of the people who did. I have intended to meet Randy Lewis, but did not get a chance.

  • Thats awesome. The disabled work force should have the same rights to find a job and work as the normal workforce.

  • Has anyone seen any difference in pay between disabled and non-disabled workers?

  • I see a difference in how their hours don't seem to get cut when the rest of ours do...

  • your comment is a tad earily in that regard. Walgreens corperate on down to the help center, DTR, Billing, has all been audited and people have been forced to quit or be fired. Similar to the movie office space, this was a few months ago. But you'd be surprised how lax it is in northbrook compared to how it is in the stores.

  • Walgreens is a good company, but I dont know

who hires all those retard managers!?

  • hate my job at walgreens!

  • LMAO!...U 2!

  • me to...

  • Being someone who has worked for Walgreens for 12 years and has a son with Aspergers these are the reasons I love my company.

  • This is great. I am actually getting a job at Walgreens, I start this friday. Does anyone know what color pants I can wear?

  • black :D

  • Thats great, I saw some people wearing khaki so I wasn't sure. I would rather wear black.

  • god bless all you guy's with a disability and working at that ware house . I have aspergers as well . I love my job at wal-mart and I make friends anywhere . Maybe I should go work at the wal-greens ware house .

  • I've been workin there for 5 months! I love my job!

    & Proud of it :)

  • proud beauty advisor !!

  • proud walgreens employee!!

  • I'm proud to be walgreens employee.

    walgreens sf are the best.

  • I work at walgreens in a small town- it's the only one for miles around so everyone comes here. I kind of like it, the customers are the hardest to deal with sometimes. I'm deaf in one ear so it was nice to be able to find work someplace that isn't too loud.

  • im a new employee at this company, and this makes me proud!

  • what department do you work in? i'm a photo tech and I work at the front register

  • cashier and stocker ;)

  • how long have you worked with walgreens? I've been with it for two years

  • it is 2 months as of yesterday, and im going to be going into loss prevention

  • oh you'll like that. it's lots of fun but you'll be kept busy

  • (manic evil) haaa haa haa haa ha ha ha haa?!!!!!!!

  • as a 20 year wal~mart associate...i've just had a thought about a career change. They are opening a Walgreen's on halloween here, our town's first competition.

There is NO ONE working at our store with downs...and the MANAGERS got a family member with it!

I'm amazed at Walgreen's CEO! and i miss Sam.

    Well done!

  • Its things like this that make me proud to work for this company, hopefully I can make a trip to the Anderson DC and meet some of these truly inspiring people.

  • Im A Service clerk at walgreens man what a boring job lol :P Im still there though.

  • I know man, I feel ya.

  • I work for the company as well and its wonderful to see that we are making a real difference in peoples lives. Great video....I'll have to tell everyone at work to check it out

  • Amen for Walgreens,

By the way I am a special education teacher and I also have Asperger's Syndrome. I have learned to deal with my autism through trial and error. It takes determination and patience.

    AspieTeacher

  • im a pharmacy tech at walgreens and watching this video is going to make my day better today

  • I knew I liked Walgreens for some reason. Now I'll tell everyone to shop there. Maybe my two boys can get a job there one day. I am hopeful.

  • as a mother of twin autistic sons, God Bless You!

  • I agree. I'm transferring all my prescriptions to Walgreens. I have a son with autism who is great w/computers too. I hope he can work for such a great company someday.

  • That's awesome. I work for Walgreens, I have been told about the center, but never really had an idea of what it was. Sweet video.

  • Thank you, Walgreens!

  • just awesome!

  • Americans helping Americans is always a good thing!

Click on my name, to see my flagged anti-Bush video.

    Powerful.

    Hated by censors.

    Loved by others.

Leave a comment, to let me know what you think...

  • not to subtle, hope folks get it

  • That's wonderful to hear; when my bipolar daughter is able to work again I'll suggest she apply there. I think Walgreens is a very nice store and am glad to see this video.

  • I have a son with autism. Thank you Walgreens.

  • My name is Tommy Watson and I was one of the Walgreens employees featured in that clip. I actually posted my own version of the NBC segment but after seeing this one, I'm proud to see that the mission of Walgreens has spread like it has. Thank you very much for all of your kind words and rest assured, after letting our Outreach Team and our DC Manager read all of these comments, I won't doubt that they'll shed a tear or two.

  • Congratulation to Walgreen, a company that is making choices that create the kind of society that I am proud to be a part of. Thank you so much !!!!

  • That is awsome...My son has Pierre Robin Syndrome.

    WTG WALGREENS!!!!

  • Wow - this is unbelievable. I will definitely be looking only for Walgreens from now on!

  • When I found out about this, I became even more proud to be a Walgreens employee...I love this company!

  • Bravo for Walgreens and Mr. Lewis. Without you its just not possible. I hope the rest of corporate america is taking notes. I am a Walgreens customer for LIFE !!!

  • Brought tears to my eyes! May have to shop Walgreens now-

  • And THIS is why I switched to watching nightly news on NBC instead of ABC. I found ABC not just leaving out information about research for disabilities, but lying about it. THANK YOU for this story full of hope!

  • Boy do you have it right! Just watch the ads that run on ABC and then the so called news stories. It truly is the meaning of money talks instead of the truth there. I'll never believe anything I see on ABC, but will be a Walgreens customer for LIFE !!!

  • Finally! In a society that continues to devalue the contributions and abilities of persons with disabilties, Walgreens must be commended for their efforts towards true inclusion for people. Let's hope this opens the eyes of other corporations (and the general public) to see people as People First.

  • Thank You Walgreens!!!!!!!

  • fantastic! and in the posautive youtube group and its /adults and /sense subgroups, thank you

  • I love this video. It's an amazing business venture, and not because it includes the under included -- but because it truly takes talents and incorporates them into a mainstream workplace, not just for charity. BEAUTIFUL! :)

  • I was really touched by company vice president quote - "Austins gift to me was to look past the disability and to see the person."

I would like to see more parents see that in their child. They would stop being so critical and calm the heck down to improve their child's self esteem to succeed in life.

  • Yay for Walgreen's. This is not charity, but about smart capitalism. A motivated workforce is the best workforce. Pity more employers in more places aren't doing this.

  • In a world that has become very depressing what a great inspiration Walgreens and these wonderful people have created. God bless each of you.

  • so many will watch this and turn away....that's the biggest challenge...bravo for one who didn't and for the rest may we find the courage to embrace the most vulnerable among us....if we can we will fully embrace ourselves....

  • We uploaded this video because we loved the message it clearly conveys: that if given the chance, folks with disabilities can do a job as good as anyone...if not better! Please visit our disability advocacy website at theunderrepresented[dot]com

  • I really liked this video. It's heart warming
