  • Same thing happend to me a week ago when we landed in Reykjavik... we had to wait for three and a half hours for the wind to subside... never experienced such a policy before, it was not a real storm or anything... just strong wind...I don't understand why the plane could not get to the terminal? I mean if we had to let passengers wait in the aircraft every time there is wind in Amsterdam or Chicago we would have been bankrupt, but otherwise a great country, great people, long live Iceland!

  • @avakrob I think that such a wind can topple to the plane, so better to keep the load and wait for the wind to calm down a bit '.

    I ♥ Iceland!

  • @elettrico00 Probably, yes, thanks! ;)

  • LOL, never seen a car shake like that because of wind...

  • Stationed there in the 80s and 90s - Air Force. It is one hell of a windy place!

  • it is not smart to be in the car in theys winds,

the back and side windows have been known to explod out from low preesure

  • This happened to me when I was there. I was sat at the back of the plane so really got rocked

  • @rimo2894 same :/

  • Well the airport staff made the correct decision in parking the A/C into wind, anywhere else the would have been like "Durr what do we do now"

  • @TequilaJoeID Because it's incredible and undoubtedly not what you think it is.

  • Ah, another beautiful Icelandic spring!

  • What wind speed was given on the metar/atis?
