Courtesy and respect is the essence of Persian culture. But, there is a difference between past Perisan and Turkic periods of rule. People under the influence of Persian rulers have much better memories than those under Turkic rule. We have very few dark chapters, unlike our Turkish neighbours. Persian cultural contribution to the entire Middle East and beyond is not comparable to Turkish contributions, its much greater.
bukhar belonged to Dari speaking ppl, no hatred againts Uzbeks but let the ppl of bukhara to speak their sweet language (dari) we'll fight back to bring the beautiful name (khorasan) back, and get ride of afghanistan.
Feruzusmon, every cultured person should learn and respect the history and culture of the place he/she lives. Just because you are uzbek is not a good excuse to ignore thousands year of history and culture of where you live. Please remember learning one's culture brings the community together. Besides, Uzbek and Tajiks have been living in harmony for centuries under same flag. Since you are from Bukhara, let me ask you if you can tell me the meaning and the root of meaning of Bukhara?
Oh, don't get me wrong. I do respect the past of Bukhara and do respect its Persian speaking inhabitants. But I also expect the same respect to her Turkic speaking people as well. I show no disrespect to Tajiks whatsoever. They are our brothers. But it is our right to speak whatever language we please. Peace.
Thanks Feruz, respect is the main element of Persian culture. I sure respect one and every single inhabitant of Bukhara. Just read famous Greece books on Cyrus the great and his respect for all the people under his empire and you will know Persian wrote the First HUMAN RIGHTS CHARTER.
As far as your question about the meaning of the word Bukhara there are few versions. It is possibly that the name comes from Soghdian word "buharak" - "lucky place". It can also be that the name comes from Sanskrit "Vihara" - "monastery".
on the meaning, please remember that both Soghdian name Buharak and Vihara are driven from same Indo-European roots. However, the options are more. In other words, the word Bukhara has the same root as Persian words for Spring "Bahar", or common word "Bahar" = Citrus blossom. However, there is still very important meaning that I will reveal it to you after soon and you will be very surprised!
