Republicans caused this mess and McCains 90% BUSH Vote Record kept this NIGHMARE going...We have one month to the election. McCain is NOT ready to be President. Is this how McCain will govern? running from one crisis to another because he's the messiah, he's the only one who can get this done. Or do you want an Obama, who can delegate and multitask. Who trusts his Democratic counterparts, but is available if needed? Who would you rather work for?

A president is a leader. The US president is the leader of over 320 millions American citizens around the world. This is not matter of multitasking or delegating responsibilities. It is time to step up above the rest and hold the banner of leadership. Only a power hungry individual who does not cares about the nation but his own political aspirations. President Hoover did not say "call me if you need me". He went down and dirty trying to fix the economic crisis of 1929.

First, John McCain isn't the president. He is not on any of the financial committees. He is not even the head of his party (the president is) so what he is doing is grandstanding, not leading. FDR was president during the depresssion and he campaigned, he wasn't so consumed with one aspect of his job he ignored all others. He dealt with crisis in asia, eruope and the US. McCain can't run for president and keep track of and contribute to this situation?It's political drama.

McCain is a PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE democratically nominated, thus he is de facto entitled to Secret Service protection just like the leaving president. What country are you living in? North Korea? A presidential candidate "nominated" assumes responsibilities de facto presidential: he is the leader of his party, not the leaving president! After 2 terms, the president gradually passes the power of the party to his successor. That happens in the CONVENTION. You know what a convention is right??

You gave an example of a president's actions(Herbert Hoover). However, John McCain isn't the president, you're logic is therfore faulty, which I pointed out.
You also seem to think that because the President is a Rep. that his position as president now passes to the Rep. candidate? McCain is a US senator, nothing more. Bush's successor as president is yet to be determined.
You didn't answer my FDR point.
Obama's kids have SS protection, so I guess they're presidential too.

I'm not talking about the presidential succesor. I'm talking about the leader of the PARTY. McCain is the suscessor of Bush in the GOP. Do you even know what is a party convention and what is done there? NO, it is not to attack the oponent and hear applauses. The conventions are democratic processes to "nominate" a presidential and vice presidential candidate.

As leader of the party McCain has no constitutional responsibilities beyond his position as senator. Maybe he should exercise those and vote every now and then. You don't nominate a VP the Presidential nominee picks one. You really should drop the condescending tone, you sound ridiculous.

What's wrong with you? You don't know the political process of your own country? The person who wins his/her party primary is not nominated yet. He/she selects the VP, but the DELEGATES "NOMINATE" both of them. No one can nominate a candidate but the DELEGATES. Untill that process, the person is just a "presumtive" nominee. Not entitled yet to secret service protection, unless special cirscuntances i.g Jesse Jackson in 1984. You need to take a class on US political process. I can't do it here
