Remember when Howe's men mercilously killed your nephew (human noble) and even old Nan. (not even mentioning the hot elf chick that spent the night with you) I'd wipe out his whole family if given the chance.
Now I kinda feel bad about it, but I truly saw no other suitable way to react since my character was Human Noble.
I mean, sure, I can let him go and we can become friends, but, seriously, those guys murdered my character's family. Since I kinda want to find a balance between roleplaying and just gaming, I thought that another rogue wasn't worth it anyway (I'm a rogue) plus it seemed appropriate given my character's origin so... poor Nathaniel was hanged.
Being a Cousland Warden... I got my revenge by killing Arl Howe. I conscripted Nathaniel, and he proved to be so different from Rendon Howe. In a sense, he became the companion with the most approval once he found out his father's evil deeds.
Awakening definitely is a game for Human Noble wardens.
@MainHeretic I offered to conscript him and he said he'd rather hang, so I obliged him. He cared so much about his home and family that he was off in the marches for 8 years. Piss on him.
It's so HARD to refrain from killing this guy. It's not his actions or the fact that he's related to Arl Howe... it's the fact that he idolises him still... after everything that happened in DA:O it's unbelievably difficult to listen to this guy spouting off and not killin him for supporting a monster. Even Loghain was easier to spare than this guy.
I choose to have him as a party member. His soon realized what an asshole his Father was and made a great ally. He is verbally quick and practical. I can see why others would kill him, but I managed to befriend him rather quickly.
I did Threaten Rendon Howe that I will kill his family, those were the last words before I ram my sword through his chest...If his son decides to follow his father's footsteps then by my warden and family's oath; he will reach the very same end. If not, then welcome to the order.
Yes I KNOW and it sucks, but still. Think of all the tension between them, especially if they recognize each other since their fathers were friends, right? And I'm happy as long as you can tease him and stuff. I guess I'll see for my self tomorrow...
I love him :) :D

I like how he's one of the few new companions with an actual relation to the original story.
Can't wait to play this; Nathaniel seems pretty badass, even if his name isn't.

@rikunano You know you don't have romance options in Awakening right. Unless you mean to torment him or something.
