I been researching this game and I see how alot of people dont like to harvest the lil sisters. I just wanted to know what is that lil squid/ fish/ slimy thing in his hand after he harvest the lil sisters?

anyway, the harvesting isnt exactly brutal, it's basicly a grabby disappearing act, if I had to watch the pixelized kids getting their stomachs torn out, then I wouldnt harvest any, no matter what.

@VampirateYuki it being disturbing is fine, but you did call someone a 'fucking creep' simply because they chose the bad ending over the good. the little sister dies, but remember, the kid lived a life of paddling around dead bodies, getting shot at, and drinking blood from corpses. it isnt like you murder a child in the prime of life, you kill a monsterous kid, you can rescue them, but I doubt anyone could recover mentally from such extreme experiences, no matter how young they were at the time

I have, like, a dozen of friends who actually played this game, and no one harvested a single little sister. Not because of the achievement, in fact. Even though it's a game, we had feelings for these girls.
What I'm trying to say is that probably the best thing about Bioshock is it's humanity after all.
Its an ADAM slug. The people found it at the bottom of the ocean and harvested the ADAM they carry inside. But the reason you harvest little sisters is because people or the mad scientists of Rapture took the slugs and put them inside the girls. So when you harvest them, you reach inside and pull out the slug. You gain awhole lot of ADAM but it kills the girl. If you save the girl, you get a smaller amount of ADAM but the girl lives and they give you gifts later on in the game.
they should have a third option worst than harvesting a sister.
they should have one called mutilate, where you destroy there limbs and drink the blood, and then you suck the poop out of their butt holes with your mouth. and then you put a grenade in the little sisters stomach, and watch all of her intestines squirt out of her body as she blows up.
that would be my favorite one. just think.... you could.." rescue"....you could "harvest".... or..... you...could.... "MUTILATE!!!!!"

@TEHL33MONESS From what I can tell, you get more stuff from rescuing, since you get 200 ADAM plus some ammo or other stuff from the bears, which you get every 2 or 3 of the little ones you rescue.
@TheInsaneWombat You might be right but I'm not sure, so far I haven't been able to fully upgrade all my plasmids and tonics without harvesting all the little sisters.
As far as I can tell, Tenenbaum sends you a teddy for about every 5 Little Sisters saved, each containing 200 ADAM and a Tonic or two, while every harvested sister will give you an extra 100 ADAM. In the long run, you'll need to harvest them to get all the tonics and plasmids :(
Couldn't agree more. Plus, when you rescue, you get one of the funniest moments: *hand on her head....bright light...she looks scared and FLING, throw her away from you*

It weird that in Bioshock 1 their face look really ugly and makes me want to harvest em but i didn't and in bioshock 2 they look cute and all and i also didn't harvest em i save em all :D

Dr. Tennanbaum (sp?) uses the slugs that produce adam to make the little sisters. The slugs are parasitic and require a young girl as a host. So when you harvest a little sister, you kill her and rip the slug out of her stomach. THERE NOW QUIT QUESTIONING WHY THE LITTLE SISTER 'TURNS INTO A FUCKING SLUG'

Lol I've never had the heart to harvest them. Now that my curiosity is quenched I never will. From what I've read the game only ends well for you if you save them all anyway.
@cheeseman1117 No, the slugs are inside them (and the slugs make the little sisters so fucked up). When you 'harvest' them, you're taking the slug out of them- the slug has Adam inside it. Unfortunately, they've had the slugs inside them for so long, they now need them to survive, and the little sisters basically dissolve without them.
@coolkid91ful1 The sea slug is what makes the ATOM but they can make 10 times as much if they have a host body. Little girls are the only ones who can host them for biological reasons. They undergo an operation to have the sea slug implanted into them. Then they are mentally conditioned to think that there goal in life is to gather ATOM. The main reason that they put the slugs into the is to make the little sisters invincible. To find out more go to the bioshock wiki. look at little sister
@sherwinoo001 I've seen Big Daddies without Little Sisters, if you stalk them, they bang on the little hiding holes of Little Sisters. If you've already saved/ harvested the Little Sisters in that area, they walk around, bang on the walls and get pretty cheesed when there's no Little Sisters to be found. I only got the 1st Bioshock the other day so I'm new to the whole thing, but in the first chapter after the intro (after saving the second Little Sister) there was a lonely Big Daddy with no Sis

Dr. Tennanbaum (sp?) uses the slugs that produce adam to make the little sisters. The slugs are parasitic and require a young girl as a host. So when you harvest a little sister, you kill her and rip the slug out of her stomach. THERE NOW QUIT QUESTIONING WHY THE LITTLE SISTER 'TURNS INTO A FUCKING SLUG'

Lol I've never had the heart to harvest them. Now that my curiosity is quenched I never will. From what I've read the game only ends well for you if you save them all anyway.

@cheeseman1117 No, the slugs are inside them (and the slugs make the little sisters so fucked up). When you 'harvest' them, you're taking the slug out of them- the slug has Adam inside it. Unfortunately, they've had the slugs inside them for so long, they now need them to survive, and the little sisters basically dissolve without them.

@coolkid91ful1 The sea slug is what makes the ATOM but they can make 10 times as much if they have a host body. Little girls are the only ones who can host them for biological reasons. They undergo an operation to have the sea slug implanted into them. Then they are mentally conditioned to think that there goal in life is to gather ATOM. The main reason that they put the slugs into the is to make the little sisters invincible. To find out more go to the bioshock wiki. look at little sister

@sherwinoo001 I've seen Big Daddies without Little Sisters, if you stalk them, they bang on the little hiding holes of Little Sisters. If you've already saved/ harvested the Little Sisters in that area, they walk around, bang on the walls and get pretty cheesed when there's no Little Sisters to be found. I only got the 1st Bioshock the other day so I'm new to the whole thing, but in the first chapter after the intro (after saving the second Little Sister) there was a lonely Big Daddy with no Sis
