wow, good work man. It is lucky for the pelican's that you are around. I live on Vancouver Island and volunteer at a wildlife rescue place, and we had a brown pelican for 3 months, she was found very sick and almost dead in november last year. We nursed her back to health, and sent her back to California, were she was later released. What a cool bird! We grew to love her, she became kind of a local celebrity..... no pelicans up here. Keep up the good work, your awesome. j
Thank God for Kenny and others like him! I've seen dozens of Pelicans entangled in fish lines and carrying hooks in their bodies all along the piers off Miami Beach. It's disgusting that the folks responsible don't give a damn.
You can read more about him in an article that the Boca News did on him - do a google search for "Kenny Brown" pelican (include the quotes around kenny brown but not around pelican) and on the first page you'll see a bocaratonnews link - view the cached version, and that's the article
Kenny doesn't own a computer and works during the day to save as many birds as he finds out of the goodness of his heart. I sent him a donation to help his work.
Wow Nice work. If I wasnt going broke doing the same thing just different breed I would help. Spent $350 today on a neglected bird. :-(. The devistation humans leave behind is staggering.
You would never guess but we had a pelican living on the Tay by Broughty Ferry (dundee scotland)for nearly 2 weeks, they think it escaped from a wild life center on South coast of England about 2 months ago.
Kenny, you should be proud of yourself. I like what you did for that poor pelican. Keep on doing what you're doing.
Thanks,
From a lover of animals and nature.
