  • What a baller!

  • In his game, his moves are calculated 10 steps ahead, and play "both sides" as he mentioned.

MY GAME: get the pawn that block the fuck out of my queen away and let her beat every single pieces to her death

  • more GG = more skill! - "Whitera"

  • Special tactics! More GG more Skill

  • Special Tactics.

  • 행운을 빌어요

  • More GG More Skill.

  • @cryptology Offcourse Special Tactics right ;)

  • quit interupting Gary Kasparov during your interview.

I'm interested in what Kasparov has to say, not you

  • Uh, you're right! sorry! XD ...it's embarrassing! :( lol

  • he's armenian

  • @superman1113215

yeah, sure.. and pigs can fly... he's russian (i'm not even russian, moreover, i'm georgian)

  • @WhatsUpManHAAA dude his dad is jewish and his mom is armenian and his dad is jewish, how is he russian?

  • @superman1113215 He has two biological dads wow

  • @heffelump202 lol its a typo calm your shit

  • Kasparov's simply the greatest

  • Ive svored a 60 on iq test. Some how i made it into grad school for biology. Iq test are narrow in thier ability to adeqtly testing intelligence.

  • @aky19832001 you are dumb !

  • @aky19832001 You're probably just really really abnormally bad at the skills required for an iq test (math and such). Good that biology doesn't require that mostly. Also, you probably took a falty test...

  • "When we won, it's because the opponent made the last mistake" great stuff

  • GARY?

  • With Kasparov - the first mistake is to play Kasparov.

  • @345srambled lol

  • @345srambled With Kasparov the first mistake is to play Chuck Norris.

  • Bobby Fisher would play himself as a child, ... cant help but wonder how that effects ones game.

I mean, i guess for one you are always the winner & the looser, which is kind of interesting.

I sure would love to have recorded those early games with himself.

Personally, I like the shuffle chess variation,

    But I do prefer poker.

  • Making mistakes in posted youtube videos: when we make videos that many others view, we think that means we should make even more videos

  • sorry guys but, kasparov's russian accent is terrible. is there subtitle?

  • If there is ever a film about Kasperov, Steve Martin should play him.

  • Like wat u do every morning?

  • your videos are absolutely useless

you think being good at chess actually makes you smart or give meaning to your life one day you will be naked and look at yourself and ask yourself what is all this for

why don't you delete this comment because you don't want to hear the truth

  • @makebelieveperson and what gives your life "meaning" exactly? Presumably your conflation of "use" (i.e. this video is useless) and "truth" (i.e. we have to endure your dreary opinion). I imagine that somewhere in-between you harbor some paranoiac version of meaning that keeps you alive but also keeps you totally disengaged from the existence of others. I'd rather be a good chess player than be like you. I'd rather appreciate other people's efforts than slag them off.

  • @curiosofsigns why don't you be a good chess players. why dont' you play more chess.get that GM title. go ahead.

  • @curiosofsigns If you don't play chess all day you will be exactly like me and I will laugh at your pathetic self so go ahead and play chess as much as Gary Kasparov that you worship and keep trying to sound smart with those comments. yeah keep telling yourself that you are smart

  • @makebelieveperson I don't tell myself I'm smart. Which is why I am.

  • @curiosofsigns you are writing to yourself anyways chess sucks

  • He is talking English like a Taxi driver.

  • this guy has an iq of 190

  • @lolimdead5 No he does not. The highest recorded IQ (legitimate score) is a female who scored 186 by the name of Marilyn vos Savant. She was in the Guinness Book of World Records for "Highest IQ"... I've met her at a Prometheus Society members meeting. She's a mathematical genius, super-genius even, but only moderately above average in most other areas. I've scored anywhere from 148 to 179 on recognized tests; there's so much variation rendering a single score irrelevant.

  • GamedFreak .what a silly comment. the reason they were interviewing kasparov is because they wanted to know the view point of the first ranked chess player in the world about chess. not the most eloquent English speaker about chess. and i doubt they would interview u anyways. i bet Chomsky is more "fluent" than u

  • KING ME!

  • Excellent advice, that should boost your rating no end.

  • chess seems boring lol...

  • @Silligk You seem boring lol...

  • I don't understand. I bet Kasparov got a lot of money for that interview, but I could have answered all those questions even more fluently because of my english. What we need is something deep.

  • @GamedFreak He answered the questions perfectly, with excellent english. There is no need to go deeper because he wasn't asked about anything deep, like a particular position on the board.

  • Dr.Evil from DESPICABLE ME

  • and what do you think of Bobby Fischers sense of calculation , ide be interested to know ?

  • Only a real chess player can understand what he means when he talks about calculating ahead. He doesn't "do" the calculations forcefully, his brain automatically calculates all the possibilities depending on the situation. Its very hard to explain.

  • @timfosho Unfortunately in my case,i do have to force myself to calculate.Sometimes i do it automatically like u say but thats very rare(ADHD sucks)...And the interviewer should be shot..."And u assuming ur opponent plays the same way u play. What an ignorant comment...

  • @timfosho, I thing it in terms of weight and pressure points and the types of plays to get there. Many games are won through resigns rather than checkmate. He doesn't have to look at all the formulas for checkmate. If there is enough pressure on the opponent, the opponent will just resign.

  • @timfosho Thanks for trying to mislead everyone.

  • @damthatriver09 Thats what they get for listening to people on the internet.

  • Kasparov is cool :)

  • When Kasparov played his famous match with the computer, I believe it was called Deep Thought, he made sure that his commentary on what he was thinking during his games was available right after it was over. The guy is usually looking at positions about 10-12 moves ahead, at least against the machine. I remember in one game he was obsessing over a possible position that was at least 15 moves out, and frankly I don't think there are more than a handful of humans who can "calculate" as well as he.

  • wõw_sUcht_mÃl_ñÂch:_geldeasy_áùf_göÒglË

  • I wonder if Kasparov plays Poker?

  • if you pause this video at any point in time, he makes the most hilarious faces. just skip around with the video paused and look at a few. 1:53 is priceless.

  • tell me to log onto ICC and ill slap him around

  • annoyinggggg fukin nublet

  • he sounds like that guy in despicable me

  • The reason he get's mad about that question is because the nature of a position can make it very easy, or very hard to calculate moves in advance. If there are less pieces on the board it is easier to calculate deeper into moves ahead. Simply because there are less complications with less pieces. It's more of a bragging answer than anything else.

  • I believe it's two 'r's in his name, dumbasses

  • No matter how many games come and go, Chess will always stand the test of time.

  • @wayneleon1000 Chess and Halo 3.

  • God his accent is awesome.

  • The dumbest question i heard today. How many moves can you see ahead =.=

  • "and maybe the opponant don't even suspect about it" lol

  • lo-rels

  • Garry Kasparov is his name.He is a legend, in his respect at least write his name how it must be written before putting it here. Thats my opinion no disrespect for anyone.

  • shuttup and let the grandmaster talk dammit! stupidass interviewer

  • pause video at 1:53

  • i like the accent

  • inevitable is his favorite word. He uses that in every interview

  • god damn he is some kind of genius

  • Sun Tzu: War, Chess and life.

  • The interviewer isn't really listening to Kasparov at all

  • The last mistake! How far is a last mistake from the end of the game?

  • The last mistake!

  • kasparov sounds like the guy from dispicable me...

  • @gamewalkthroughs1100 it's called, a Russian accent.

  • "Ten moves ahead", try doing that every move, you'll end up a vegetable, it is nice though when that many moves, stated boldy for all to hear, heads smack for the brained button. Ho ho ho.

  • it annoys any real chess player when they're asked how deeply they can see into the game! It's dangerous. With a real opponent the game and even the strategy evolves with every move; those who see too deeply are always sucker-punched.

  • interviewer shut up the king is talking

  • greatest of all time.

  • @sparf314 nah, fisher:)

  • I'm a poker player, and Kasparov's philosophy on gamesmanship can be applied in cards and a lot of other games / sports.

  • @Tehui1974 no poker is totally different to chess, poker relys on what cards you happen to get, chess has no chance element whatsoever,! chess for brains cards for the 4 in 52 chance of getting the ace that anyone could get to win !

  • @mcpartridgeboy Chess is 100% skill. There are different theories with poker, but poker professionals put the skill percentage as high as 80 - 90% skill and 10 - 20% luck. If poker were all luck, there wouldn't be professionals making a living out of it.

  • @Tehui1974 what are you talking about? - poker wtf

  • @mcpartridgeboy That comment doesn't scream I know nothing about chess or anything...

  • @MoPar7055 how fucking rude whats your chess rating you fucking little dick head twat wanker ignorant fucking scumbag twat motherfucker

  • It's amusing to observe that in the 'meganz1993', 'mindyandsara', and 'Chelle427' accounts, bybel pretends to be a teenaged girl. Looks like he's fulfilling his homosexual fantasies while spamming YouTube all at the same time.

William Bybel is a convicted CHILD RAPIST who resides at 1325 Pennsylvania Ave in Bethlehem, PA. He raped two young boys aged 8 and 10.

  • Everyone can easily check for themself. Take a look at the profile page of the following accounts: TheWatchDawg, paradox844, jason52748, ryankev1994, tvcatz, meganz1993, mindyandsara, Chelle427, cuteme77027, and logicada. Every single one of these accounts was opened late August of 2008 and is doing nothing but spamming the Bobby Fischer related videos with threats and harassment towards the same target individual.
  • It's hard to understand why someone who has a profile that says: "im 15 and live in illinois...i am in 9th grade and play volleyball and softball." (bybel's meganz1993 account) would have no other interest on YouTube except to machine-gun spam a bobby fischer video with harassment against a single individual. This is of course, until you figure out that the real person behind that account (and all the others) is an obese convicted child rapist named William Bybel.

  • its garri not gary

  • fuck kasparov hes fukin annoying

  • but the trick is noticing when your opponent makes mistakes.. yeah that's right you stupid..

  • check out six power moves of chess video here on you tube, for finding good chess moves from any position. search it

  • One of the smartest man ever.

  • Interviewer STFU

  • @Migue261 Commentator: shut the fuck up and die

  • just because the genius u see is on youtube doesn't mean one isn't typing to you right now.. For most people thats too intimidating to accept so they just deny it and ive been through hell compared to them, in their shoes it should have been proven long ago

  • @quikster220 im serious.. i can beat carlsen atleast and i can beat him too. u think i would just lie i have games to prove this

  • not saying id beat him every time but it would be a close match

  • if i played him from my house i can beat him. i have no anxiety at home

  • @warLock21X yea, and Id beat Crosby one on one... cmon dude

  • he sounds like Nico Bellick in GTA4 haha, its great

  • better bang some bitch then getting headake of playing chess

  • better stick to chess gary, that's where you became famous, leave politics to the politicians, it's a dirty game and you don't have business with them.

  • Comment removed

  • lol the interviewer sounds like he has never played a game of chess in his life..

  • @tarudew

he is chess grandmaster yasser seirawan... So I guess he has played a game of chess up to now

  • @tarudew Does it matter? There are many people who interviewed Jimi Hendrix but never picked up a guitar.

  • @alfredandalfredo good call.

  • @alfredandalfredo a good interviewer is an educated and informed interviewer.

  • @watermeloncat a good or bad interview is perspective, i like how he lets the man talk

  • @watermeloncat That's not a good interviewer....but the fact you're suggesting any normal person is on par with his chess skill is silly on it's own. Trying to be informed about his trade is just disrespectful especially if it's a subject you know nothing in. It's better to know nothing than learn little and stretch it.

  • @alfredandalfredo Yeah thats right :P

But it might be good to send someone with at least some knowledge.

  • @alfredandalfredo

    It does matter, moron.

Imagine Lil Wayne interviewing Isaac Newton, or Hawking on his postulates and theorems in astrophysics.

    Idiot.

    Credibility is EVERYTHING.

    Education is EVERYTHING.

  • @Romansteel13 True, but he still knows enough about chess to perform an interview.

  • @alfredandalfredo The question about predicting moves was pretty lame. Every average strength chessplayer knows he has to predict not only his own, but also his opponent moves, at least roughly especially in middlegame positions. In endgame positions he basically know by heart, or know the guidelines enough to play pratically without the need of any prediction

  • @alfredandalfredo What a stupid comment. He's asking technical questions, so he should be prepared. People who interviewed Hendrix didn't ask him "what scale did you use?"!

  • @tarudew why do you think that, those are good questions.

  • @tarudew Not really... at the very least he didn't make a fool out of himself from anything he said.

  • would love to see bobby fischer interviewed like this if any one has the link? his english is very good you can't dispute that.

  • INTERVIEWER STFU

  • without any irony, why men are better than women in chess?

  • @davidnalba Superior intellect due to cranium capacity

  • @davidnalba i guess that the majority of women are not interested in playing games like chess.

  • @davidnalba better ability to narrow the mental focus down. stronger "killer instinct" (very important in chess). 55manoslis's explanation that they aren't particularly good because they do not like it so much, smells of circular logic to me

  • @jonjescabar IBM dismantled Deep Blue after the tournament, so no one will ever know exactly how it managed to beat him. That's a moot point, however - today's multi-cores and software have a lot of improvements over the cyborg built by IBM in '97, and even Mr. Kasparov has finally decided that it's more worthwhile to use the current machines to come up with theoretical novelties than to challenge their computing power.

  • if his english is that bad then show me an american who can speak a bit russian lol! His english , as for somone who comes from non-english speaking country, is almost perfect.

  • @legi0nnaire He actually speaks pretty good English. My folks came from Slovakia and I can vouch for how hard it was for them to learn English.

  • @legi0nnaire he studied english at uni.

  • I am looking for podcast "Night Waves - Gary Kasparov on Chess and Politics" on BBC Radio 3 from 2007. Could somone help me?

  • ALL THIS DID KASPAROFF!

    watch?v=is4by4Ls_1g

    watch?v=deIAXQ6TbBw

  • I go over the games I win to cheer myself up. As I analyze, I see how poorly I played, and I end up just getting more depressed.

  • @trakomako thats still a maybe. id get bored and die before finishing the game.

  • Magnus Carlsen could kick Kasparov's ass....

  • @renumeratedfrog

No!.. He Magnus Carlsen, could not win . in 2004 was draw :-)) Gary Kasparov is Kasparov 1985 - 1993

  • @renumeratedfrog Kasparov is his coach. I'm sure that Magnus has probably beaten him once or twice during their meetings, but Garry probably still has a few tricks up his sleeve.

  • @Niven42 Kasparov _WAS_ his coach. Carlsen let him go because he couldn't stand his overbearing personality.

  • WHERE'S THE FULL INTERVIEW?????

  • Hahahhahahahhahah, that interviewer's replies are so off the mark, it's absolutely hilarious. What a complete idiot.

  • Didn't Kasparov "lose" to Judit Polgar when she was oly 19? I've heard that Kasparov made an illegal move by taking his hand off a piece, but claimed he didn't. Replays of video says that he did. Many feel Ms. Polgar should have won. None-the-less, experts will often say that Kasparov is the greatest tactical player to have ever lived.

  • @notredamehesamighty interesting.

  • Facinating listening to the inside of a Master's mind. He makes it sound easy.

  • I have used this in so many walks of life.

  • you spelt his first name wrong i hate all of you :(

  • @ultranoob802

what the fuck does "spelt" mean? Did you mean to write spelled?

  • @ethicks00 Spelt is a word. Spelled is a newer, interchangable version, but spelt is a word. Dwelt, spelt, knelt, etc.

  • @chukonub

The way you were using it was entirely retarded and incorrect. Spelled is the correct way. Spelt is

    –noun

a wheat, Triticum aestivum spelta, native to southern Europe and western Asia, used chiefly for livestock feed.

    silly little child.

  • @ethicks00 let me guess: you're american.

  • @phyk

let me guess "you're" a fucking moron. Spelt is only a word if you mean it as a piece of wheat.

  • @ethicks00 "Spelt" is the British spelling (nomenclature) of the past / past participle of the verb "spell." Look it up.

  • @ethicks00 "spell" is an irregular verb in british english. You probably don't know about these because you don't seem very educated. "spelt" is the past/past perfect form of "spell"

  • @phyk

    Spelt

    –noun

a wheat, Triticum aestivum spelta, native to southern Europe and western Asia, used chiefly for livestock feed.

    silly child.
