  • Good Point ibtnm. I always teach my players that when your blocking a DL especially a DE since their more athletic then a Nose or Tackle that you always use his flow against him. If he's lined up so wide of you then bring him outside and let your back read his blocks. If he's just shaded outsided of you and you have some athletic lineman then you can reach block and seal him inside.

  • What if your run blocking a guy that wide and the balls going outside of you, it's impossible to turn him inside isn't it? I messed up a play like that in high school pretty bad. The hb ran to my outside and the de was lined up 5 yards to my outside shoulder and there was no way i could get to him by the time the hb was on my shoulder, the de ended up slaughtering him. My guess is hb should of waited for block or maybe the fb should of got the de and i hit a lb. That's the only play i regret.

  • What you do is push the DE out to the sideline and have the back cut inside of you. If your back can't read something so simple than get a new back. It's called running a hole short. Great question!

  • im a lil late but if he cus back inside the DE did his job of keeping contain... but it is the best option for the OL
