You are funding animal cruelty, and yes, the animals are not killed intentionally, but due to bad treatment, many animals die in the circus. The ones that don't live miserably due to daily abuse and improper care. If you care about animals, boycott the circus.

I'm doing all I can to stop that shit. You guys must tell everyone you know, every kid you know the truth about circuses. It's sick. I'm telling everybody I know what a fucked up place it is. I didn't say we weren't supporting animal abuse, I was simply saying everyone whining and complaining on a video about animal abuse wasn't going to get anything done. Kids enjoy the circus, people are going to go, it happens, get over it. That's what I said. Do you really think kids in kindergarden are aware enough to realize 'these animals are being tortured'? I wasn't. I don't go anymore. But kids still enjoy going, free tickets, parents take them... that's how it works.

But you can't control the public as a whole, sadly. And some people just don't care. There are already strict laws against child abuse & domestic abuse, and severe punishments for abusers. No matter where it happens, it's illegal. It's terrible that it still happens, but I don't think it's ignored; the law addresses it. As far as animal abuse, there are many inconsistencies. When people are throwing puppies in the trash, it's illegal, but when they're being abused for entertainment purposes, it's not? That really needs to be addressed.

Maybe not all circuses beat their animals, surely some take care of them to the best of their ability- though given constrictions on the size of a usual circus site it's hardly room enough for big animals like lions, elephants or hippos. However, Ringling has the worst reputation of animal abuse of any circus and it has been fined by the USDA on many occasions.
