The game has been single player for all of its many installments and I think it's too late in the series to want to try something like that, if they do it should be 2 disks. Taking away from the single player just isn't a move they should make with something like Tomb Raider. But if it doesn't effect it, then go ahead, see what happens.
Totally agree with everything you said in the video. I play games like Tomb Raider, Uncharted, Assassins Creed, etc for the singleplayer. The multiplayer is like abd added bonus for me and just really lengthens the time i play the game. I wouldn't mind multiplayer just as long as it doesn't mess with the singleplayer. Im really looking forward to the new game because im a massive TR fan (I got into TR on the PS1) and i just really want to play the singleplayer because thats what TR is meant to

Usually multikplayers take up too much and are cheaply done and not clever but if they can pull it off then go for it if not then keep with the story. Since they are doing a new turn anyways with tombraider now being a survival adventure maybe they should just stick with that and do everything they can with it

Thats why you play on PC, there all files are on the PC and not on the disc. And many games also just download most of the files from a server on not on the disc!
I agree with Next Gen Tactics, However, i do like the multiplayer of uncharted 2, and i hope that uncharted 3 brings in that multiplayer with new features, and like new action pack like the maps destroing on you like in the single player and such, but thats my opinion tho :)

It's not as if it was limited to one disc. Final Fantasy XIII consist of multiple cd's too, so you could just add one more with the multiplayer on it... I don't think that that will be a problem.

it is cheap to buy a good PC (unlike consolefags say), some countries give economic benefits if you have students on your household, you can use them for more than playing games, and overall you have access to mods, more free content, cheaper games etc.

I find a PS3 gives you the most economic benefits, free online, one of the best Blu-Ray players, and an internet browser that handles nicely if you don't plan on using it to play games since it can't do that. @Agent1478963 I agree. Provided your computer can actually run it, the PC gives you many more options. I love PC for games like Oblivion because there's the option of mods. And it gives you the program to make your own mods. Which is pretty damn cool on it's own. But for other games like Batman Arkham Asylum or Assassin's Creed I think I actually prefer the console. Mostly because of the way it's controlled. That's pretty much the only reason though.

i think that games like uncharted or maybe tomb raider should not need multiplayer due to there amazing story but games like just cause 2 or grandtheft auto 4 teh there single player is alot of fun but there is only so much you can do in a open world game until it gets to boring and those kind of games do need multiplayer or co-op just to add that little bit more experience like in grand theft auto the multiplayer in the last one was alot of fun and i have spent hours on that multiplayer.
Blu-ray disks have completely enough space on their dual layered and i believe its triple or quad layered now that kojima had discovered a way to do that. It's very possible to have a great long story line and an amazing multiplayer. Now do i believe that because xbox can't hold as much space and memory as a blu-ray on the ps3, that ps3 fans should suffer for the fact that we should get a good game with limited of what could have been absolutely not. Maybe they'll do it like the Mass Effect 2 or ODST games, ME2 had it's entire campaign over 2 discs, and ODST had campaign and Firefight on one disc and the matchmaking multiplayer on another.
In my opinion a game should have multiplayer if it makes sense to have it. Multiplayer in CoD and Halo works, but it wouldn't in a game like say Portal. But it really is up to the way you think about it.
It should be on 2 discs for 360, one disc for ps3, PC's don't need multiple discs.
Heres something, think back on some RPG games back in the day like Tales of Eterna which had 3 discs and Tales of Symphonia which had 2. The discs were used for single player, if you add an extra disc for multiplayer that would be fine, or you can intertwine them to make a disc swapping multiplayer.
Tomb raider is an action adventure, They should be able to put single player on disc 1 and multiplayer on disc 2.
i think some game that have a theme to them like mass effect like tomb raider or bio shock they have to keep to the single player style game play so the mutilplayer comes out good but never great i say follow mass effect have a kick ass story and thing that you have to do that will effect your game i played mass effect 1 like 5 time and mass effect 2 like 10 times cuz there so much to do

I believe they should use 2 disks. As of now game developers have to limit what they put into multi and single-player because of memory limitations which can sometimes hinder one side so that the other can be impressive. If they split the two sides into 2 disks it would allow for a much better game altogether and would enable developers to create more extravagant multi and single-player experience. More memory can lead to a better game.
I believe tomb raider should be Multi Player mainly because it needs to compete with the other games on the market (looks at Uncharted). If Tomb Raider is strictly single player then it will fail in comparison to a game with a great single player and MP. MP is a must in games in this day and age because it gives the player something to do after they have completed the game.
I still luv UC2's Multiplayer. It's so much fun. I think it would be cool with MP on Tomb Raider. I would really love it. As long as the single player has a lot of replay value.
I really don't see why people assume mp detracts from sp. It's usually the publisher who says "Hey, your game needs mp, here's another $100k. Make it happen."
Multiplayer offer something that single player can never offer. Replayability for hours. Sure you can play the same story over and over but, after about 2-3 times you shelve the game for months until you feel like playing it again.
The problem with most multiplayer games is most video game companies have a very hard time hold the attention grasp of the player for 300 plus hours. Other do a wonderful job at it like Treyarch with Black ops.

So instead of making another one go without the quality because one can't hold they should absolutely make two disks for xbox if it can't hold the capacity. See kojima had the perfect idea when mgs3 subsistence came out. He made the actual story on one disk and the very first metal gear online (which was amazing by the way) on a second disk. That's the way things need to be done instead of half assing it.
That or they should make it a console exclusive either one is a great idea but these companies need to start thinking quality more than time on their hands. Like look whats going on with mgs rising they pushed it back to 2012 because they want to make sure that the game is going to be worth the wait with very few and little problems as possible. Socom 4 by zipper interactive is doing the same exact thing and thats the smartest thing that any game company can do.
no, it isn't necessary but there are games where i don't wimd having some competition in a certain style. of course there's the FPS realistic stuff we've seen a lot but what about other play style for multiplayer. personally i've had a lot of fun with the bioshock 2 multiplary. if there was something like that but even more customizable i would be all over that multiplayer.
i think that TR was fine without multiplayer. the old ones like no. 1, 2 and 3 had such long story modes that putting multiplayer in there would just not be necessary, but i think the producers got lazier as the games went by and they got shorter, so maybe if the story is as short as it was in TR : Legend, maybe multiplayer is a good idea. but the older ones were definitely the best ones.
If they make the Tomb Raider games like what Naughty Dog did to Uncharted, then it'll be a great game. I'm not saying that they should copy it, but they should learn from that game.

I don't really think the MP will affect the size of the story line or the disc usually the MP just use some places of the story line so the size won't be an issue, if happen and there was a size issue for whatever reason they always can release it on 2 Disks.
I have every single tomb raider game apart from the gardian of light or whatever its called. So im not sure about the co-op but at first I thought it doesnt matter about the multiplayer because the game will still be fantastic. But if it takes away some of the single player experience I wouldnt wont it there. Im not gunna buy TR 4 the multiplayer because I have call of duty and other games for multiplayer. Since when did a game usually use the full disk? Multilayer wont use up much space. Think of it as just something extra to the game, not something taken away.
you totally made me think about dead space 2. cuz on dead space 1 you didnt have multiplayer so all they had to do is work on was the story but now they are adding mutliplayer so that will take away from the epicness of the story of dead space. when i played dead space 1 the story was so good i didnt care if their was multiplayer or not.

They should start producing double disk games like GT3 was for PS2. Then they could have great graphics for both. I think they should have a multi-player, but only co-op. Or maybe a totally different campaign in c-op. But I'm guessing it will be more bucks.
it think that it ok uncharted has a muilti only if it good because the blue ray disc can hold around 50 gb so it alot of space. and now that i think of this maby cod games arnt as good in ps3 cause xbox only has 9 gb and it can't support as much updates and fixes because of its space.
I think that if a game is single player for the most part, the SP part should go on the disc and the MP should be like some sort of update you get if your on PSN.

I'm a huge TR fan. HAve 'em all and MP would be kinda cool. If they can keep the story intact, the game play as good as it should be and the puzzles as interesting as some of the other TR games, I could get into it for sure. I just pray that its not gonna devolve into a FPS or rip off Uncharted with its MP/SP style. I think the Blu-Ray should have enough space to handle both. THey could just do 2-discs, similar to MGS on PSone. The reboot idea sucks though.

Blu-ray disks have completely enough space on their dual layered and i believe its triple or quad layered now that kojima had discovered a way to do that. It's very possible to have a great long story line and an amazing multiplayer. Now do i believe that because xbox can't hold as much space and memory as a blu-ray on the ps3, that ps3 fans should suffer for the fact that we should get a good game with limited of what could have been absolutely not. I believe that they should not make one

Maybe they'll do it like the Mass Effect 2 or ODST games, ME2 had it's entire campaign over 2 discs, and ODST had campaign and Firefight on one disc and the matchmaking multiplayer on another.
In my opinion a game should have multiplayer if it makes sense to have it. Multiplayer in CoD and Halo works, but it wouldn't in a game like say Portal. But it really is up to the way you think about it.

It should be on 2 discs for 360, one disc for ps3, PC's don't need multiple discs.
Heres something, think back on some RPG games back in the day like Tales of Eterna which had 3 discs and Tales of Symphonia which had 2. The discs were used for single player, if you add an extra disc for multiplayer that would be fine, or you can intertwine them to make a disc swapping multiplayer.
Tomb raider is an action adventure, They should be able to put single player on disc 1 and multiplayer on disc 2.

i think some game that have a theme to them like mass effect like tomb raider or bio shock they have to keep to the single player style game play so the mutilplayer comes out good but never great i say follow mass effect have a kick ass story and thing that you have to do that will effect your game i played mass effect 1 like 5 time and mass effect 2 like 10 times cuz there so much to do

I believe they should use 2 disks. As of now game developers have to limit what they put into multi and single-player because of memory limitations which can sometimes hinder one side so that the other can be impressive. If they split the two sides into 2 disks it would allow for a much better game altogether and would enable developers to create more extravagant multi and single-player experience. More memory can lead to a better game.

I believe tomb raider should be Multi Player mainly because it needs to compete with the other games on the market (looks at Uncharted). If Tomb Raider is strictly single player then it will fail in comparison to a game with a great single player and MP. MP is a must in games in this day and age because it gives the player something to do after they have completed the game.

I still luv UC2's Multiplayer. It's so much fun. I think it would be cool with MP on Tomb Raider. I would really love it. As long as the single player has a lot of replay value.

I really don't see why people assume mp detracts from sp. It's usually the publisher who says "Hey, your game needs mp, here's another $100k. Make it happen."

Multiplayer offer something that single player can never offer. Replayability for hours. Sure you can play the same story over and over but, after about 2-3 times you shelve the game for months until you feel like playing it again.
The problem with most multiplayer games is most video game companies have a very hard time hold the attention grasp of the player for 300 plus hours. Other do a wonderful job at it like Treyarch with Black ops.

console suffer because the other one can't hold the same capacity. So instead of making another one go without the quality because one can't hold they should absolutely make two disks for xbox if it can't hold the capacity. See kojima had the perfect idea when mgs3 subsistence came out. He made the actual story on one disk and the very first metal gear online (which was amazing by the way) on a second disk. That's the way things need to be done instead of half assing it.

That or they should make it a console exclusive either one is a great idea but these companies need to start thinking quality more than time on their hands. Like look whats going on with mgs rising they pushed it back to 2012 because they want to make sure that the game is going to be worth the wait with very few and little problems as possible. Socom 4 by zipper interactive is doing the same exact thing and thats the smartest thing that any game company can do.

no, it isn't necessary but there are games where i don't wimd having some competition in a certain style. of course there's the FPS realistic stuff we've seen a lot but what about other play style for multiplayer. personally i've had a lot of fun with the bioshock 2 multiplary. if there was something like that but even more customizable i would be all over that multiplayer.

i think that TR was fine without multiplayer. the old ones like no. 1, 2 and 3 had such long story modes that putting multiplayer in there would just not be necessary, but i think the producers got lazier as the games went by and they got shorter, so maybe if the story is as short as it was in TR : Legend, maybe multiplayer is a good idea. but the older ones were definitely the best ones.

I don't really think the MP will affect the size of the story line or the disc usually the MP just use some places of the story line so the size won't be an issue, if happen and there was a size issue for whatever reason they always can release it on 2 Disks.

I have every single tomb raider game apart from the gardian of light or whatever its called. So im not sure about the co-op but at first I thought it doesnt matter about the multiplayer because the game will still be fantastic. But if it takes away some of the single player experience I wouldnt wont it there. Im not gunna buy TR 4 the multiplayer because I have call of duty and other games for multiplayer. I have a ps3 by the way.

Uncharted 2 also did take up the full 25gb on blu-ray but I still don't think that it affected the single player by having a multiplayer

Since when did a game usually use the full disk? Multilayer wont use up much space. Think of it as just something extra to the game, not something taken away.

you totally made me think about dead space 2. cuz on dead space 1 you didnt have multiplayer so all they had to do is work on was the story but now they are adding mutliplayer so that will take away from the epicness of the story of dead space. when i played dead space 1 the story was so good i didnt care if their was multiplayer or not.

They should start producing double disk games like GT3 was for PS2. Then they could have great graphics for both. I think they should have a multi-player, but only co-op. Or maybe a totally different campaign in c-op. But I'm guessing it will be more bucks.

it think that it ok uncharted has a muilti only if it good because the blue ray disc can hold around 50 gb so it alot of space. and now that i think of this maby cod games arnt as good in ps3 cause xbox only has 9 gb and it can't support as much updates and fixes because of its space.

I'm a huge TR fan. HAve 'em all and MP would be kinda cool. If they can keep the story intact, the game play as good as it should be and the puzzles as interesting as some of the other TR games, I could get into it for sure. I just pray that its not gonna devolve into a FPS or rip off Uncharted with its MP/SP style. I think the Blu-Ray should have enough space to handle both. THey could just do 2-discs, similar to MGS on PSone. The reboot idea sucks though.
