@marnerbroman Ryu hasn't really been the "main" character of a game since SF1. Since then, his story has involved fewer people and been more of a side thing, not the primary story. The Alpha series didn't have a main character. SF2 revolved around Chun Li and Guile vs. Shadaloo. SF3 had Alex as a main character. SF4 was Abel, Viper, Seth and Juri's big story.

Actually it isn't very different from Akuma or Bison, just that he's obsessed in becoming more powerful, Akuma is obsessed with mastering his power and art and Bison is obsessed with world domination. I guess Seth wouldn't mind the world domination part too since he was created so Bison one day would inhabite his body.
