  • what's the name of this wonderful music??

  • @PennyCH18 The music score for the film was written by Stephen Warbeck :D

  • Michael: How do I look?

    Billy: Shut up, u puff

    Michael: Fuck off.

    LOVE THIS FILM

  • süss

  • I THINK HE WOS FREAKING OUT COS HE WALKED IN ON HIM AND A GAY GUY THINKING THAT HE SHUD COME OUT OF THE CLOSER LOL

  • I think my mouth was probably dropped open the whole time.

I could probably watch this over and over and never be any less amazed. I love dancing (but it's a hobby, I've never taken lessons) and Billy is freaking awesome.

Seeing those two boys swing around on that rope while wearing dancing stuff was funny. :)

  • this is NOT ballet and its very insalting to real ballet dancers to see this boy make a foul of himself

  • Comment removed

  • @teenovels

You're right, this is not ballet, but it is not supposed to be. Billy's teacher says at the beginning of the movie that it doesn't matter if he doesn't know anything about ballet technics, because he'll learn in time in the Royal ballet school. His dance is about expression, energy, not technic.

  • @teenovels first of all, it is *inuslting to English students out there that t=you had so many mistakes in that comment. *fool

secondly, I for one, am a professional ballerina, and I believe this is the sweetest and cutest thing I have seen. You are the insulting one as saying that because someone doesn't know how to do something, they shouldn't do it, where as Billy has a love for this, and shows his passion and emotions through dance. And if you are so clever then you would notice many cont.

  • of the moves Billy does are in face Ballet moves. I find it is people like you, who are so small minded and selfish that are the ones who ruin children's dreams.

  • I love the music used--is it original or does it have a name?

  • was he river dancing (or whatever it's called) at 1:36?

  • GOOSEBUMPS anyone? :)

  • what's the name of this song please ?

  • I love this part of the movie.

  • what music is that???? The name ,,,Does anybody know??

  • qualcuno mi sa dire che musica c'è sotto all' inizio della scena? la musica a pianoforte...

  • i cant stop watching this scene. i LOVE it ♥

  • is billy`s friend a girl or a boy?

  • @CherryOnTop5000 boy, played by stuart wells.

  • @CherryOnTop5000 Boy, he's called Michael, he turns out gay in the end

  • This scene always brought tears to my eyes because the family is struggling so much at that point and the father feels he's about to lose it, and then it's kind of like Billy is almost auditioning for his father here and it hits the father that his kid has great talent and potential. Even though the father is kind of a macho guy, he does the right thing after that and supports Billy's quest to dance. Great movie.

  • continuity mistake: It's night time but day light is shining through the widow behind Billy. (2:09).

  • @silver2stars maybe thats some kinda film light the crew didnt hide very well lol

  • are we gonna see jamie bell dance again in a movie, that would be nice

  • I'm not even into dancing but I loved this movie!

  • my favourite part of the film i think.

  • If the actor who plays Billy never does anything else in his life worthwhile, at least he can always be proud of this (and I'm betting he'll do other great things, too.)

  • @Ivyandstone well he was in that green day video. called summer i think? well it was a war video.

  • @MissVanD1 It was called 'When September Ends'. He's also in 'Jumper' with Hayden Christensen and 'Defiance' with Daniel Craig...oh yeah and he's playing Tintin in 'Tintin and the The Secret of the Unicorn'!! (I cant wait 4 that one!) :) x

  • t vlass when illy starts dancin his dad dont know what to think and then when you see his dads face... jackie then realises how much billy can dance brillant like dude...

  • Billy, you've done Michael Flatley proud.

  • @Sukiinpink you mean that guy from the Southside of Chicago who pretends to have an Irish accent?

  • I love this scene , it has different meanings to differnt people

  • Love this scene and especially at the end with the snowman with the policeman's hat on in the back alley there lol.

  • the song's called score by stephen warbeck

and this bit always makes me cry, because his dad realises how amazing he is :)

  • @Katy07x

And then his Dad does something he really doesn't feel is right, just to be able to give his son a *chance*. Too bad he's just a fictional character....

  • Whats the song called?

  • that's right billy! you dance!!

  • Shut up you poof LOL!

  • love when billy looks at his father like saying "look what I can do" and starts to dance, very proud of himself :)

one of my fave movies, it has a great message :)

and, of course, I fell in love with billy's best friend, he's the best!!

  • @monicax16x

he starts with an Irish jig, a dance of defiance. When occupied by the English, they were forbidden to dance touching eachother, so the Irish danced with their arms at their sides. Any British father would have known exactly what that was.

  • @monicax16x shame bout them though, they're are TOO cute together

  • amazing this movie is great!

  • cute accent,lovely :'D

this song is called "i love to boogie"?

    don't think so at all..

one of the best scenes in the movie!

    makes me feel..funny,free :)

  • @SportySplitGirl This is not "I love to boogie". That's another scene.

  • where can i find this music plz ?

  • Next time I'm about to have a major fight with my mom I'm just gonna start dancing.

  • ROFL. ROFL. You just made me laugh out loud at 1.54 in the morning. Woke my family up! ARGH!

  • haha! u should have started dancing :D

  • unbelievebly great acting

  • The look on his dad's face is just hilarious.

  • This scene is one of the most touching scenes in the film! Thanks so much for uploading!

  • fantastic movie, thanx for posting!!. This is the best part. X

  • his little mate clapping is sooo ciute!!

  • That is one of my favorite parts of the film!!! another one is the part with Billys "Angry Dance", when he dances his anger out.

  • sames [:

  • billy looks kinda hot but whats with those stupid skimpy clothes at least wear baggy shorts

  • its set in 1984. thats what people wore

  • I completely adore this scene!

  • can someone tell me where their accents are from??

and where they are supposed to be?

  • accents = Geordie/ Yorkshire ish accent =]

and there in the boxing ring/ballet studio where the film begins i think

  • ok

    thanks, bb

  • its not a yorkshire accent. a yorkshire accent is totally different. it is a durham accent like a Geordie accent from newcastle in the north east of england. there are scores of english accents and if you tell a yorkshire man he sounds like a geordie he will not be happy and vice versa. people are very proud of their roots in the uk especially people from the north and quite right too.

  • They are from Durham.

They don't have a Geordie accent, they have a Pitmatic accent.

Geordie people are from Newcastle :)

  • they all sound the same to a londoner. North east accent to me.

  • well I live in the midlands and I haven't been to that part of england before so I wouldn't know, I just know the names of the accents and stuff.

  • Holy crap it's Griffin...

  • the name of this song?

  • this is the best scene in the movie... now you figure out why?//?

  • This is my favorate scene in the movie.

    "how do I look?

    you look perfect

    fuck off"

:P and ofcourse I love Billy when he dances!

  • he actually says shut up you poof and thats why he says fuck off

  • He actually says

    'How do I look'

Billy says 'Shut up you poof' (poof = gay)

Michael then tells him to fuck off

  • WATCH the entire movie! he is NOT gay

  • Billy isn't, but his friend in the tutu is.

  • lol bless the kid in the tutu XD

    *dad walks in*

    *he takes tutu off*

  • This is such a touching scene, brings joy to my heart and a tear to my eye.

  • not when he was in girls clothes though.

  • i had such a crush on his friend.

  • cried with this scene.

    moving

  • My very favorite moment of one of my favorites movies. I just love the music and the dancing

  • has he carried on dancing though or did he give up?

  • Re: crystaliclake's question. The up-tempo piece was written by the film's composer Stephen Warbeck. Unfortunately I don't know the title of the piece since it's not on the soundtrack CD or listed in the end credits.

  • Absolutely great performance in this scene.

Ballet is my favourite type of dance.

This film is extrodinary and has a brilliant story to it - very inspirational indeed!

    x

  • Oglądałam ten film z 50 razy... naprawdę jest piękny, i smutny =P

    So cute

  • HAHA! I love that part too.

  • I fink micheal is soooooooooooooooooooooooo

    SWEET!

    like a suger muffin :)

  • I agree! That part at the end where he come to see his show and says, "I wouldn't miss it for the world." I was pratically crying because after all that time he still loved him. I can't believe it because I never cry at movies, but at the 2nd half of this one I am in tears.

  • Int micheal sweet?

  • I agree hehehe

  • does anyone know what the piano piece at the beginning is?

  • This is the best of all the Billy Elliot dance rootines - and it's complete! - However We Love To Boogie and Malice are close in beauty.

  • Thanks for posting this-this scene and the finale are my favorite in this lovely, heart-warming life-affirming film.

Stuart Wells-the actor who plays Billy's gay friend Michael-joined the British Army. He was apparently 17 when he did this role! He looked so much younger!!

  • @audie83 WOW! 17?? I thought he was much much younger too!! It's similar in ways to the late Jack Wild who looked much younger than he was as the Artful Dodger in the musical movie "Oliver!". :)

  • wow thats so kwl i so wanna c this movie can any1 put da whole thing on here???

  • i love to boogie

  • what is this song called?

  • I'm no ballet expert but I think it's an up-tempo bit from Swan Lake.
