  • Nice demonstration!

  • Good thing they didn't use radium paint to paint the counter.

  • 30s,40s,50s era paint had urainium in it

  • @remington12799 The only paint was for the Fiestaware. Besides that, they used some in that yellow-green glass.

    Fred .

  • were can i get the flat paddle wand?

  • You can find the " flat paddle " on eBay USA . Seller geoelectronics .

  • what can i get that is radiactive but not uranium ... its to expesive :)

  • @JonnysMADps

Americium which is found in smoke detectors and gives of mostly alpha particles.

    Hope that helps!

  • salt substitute potassium chloride is slightly radioactive

  • some old phones and clocks have radioactive substances in.

  • You're supposed to start from the highest scale on any galvanometer.

  • counts per minute

  • counts per minute = decays per minute ?

  • Common conversion rate is CPM x 10 = DPM because it is assumed that you can't measure every single disintegration occurring within a source with most ways of measuring.

  • Hello , Cont per minutes ( CPM ) is the number of desintegrations in a minute ( 60 seconds ) . In Europe we count desintegrations by seconds , the unit is the " Becquerel " . Bye , Fred .

  • Smacking the needle around?

  • You're supposed to start from the highest scale, not the lowest. Doing that will lead to constant galvanometer recalibration.

  • woow...i don't want something THAT big...just something small and portable

  • Very nice! I ordered a Leni CD V-700 myself. I can't wait for it!! :)
