well while i am opposed to big government and am pro-individual responsibility, in the east german's defence since reunification the transfer of wealth from west to east has been a very slow process and has yet to be completed. For all we know the west may always be more wealthy than the east. As long as the youth are educated to understand the the collective doesn't benefit if the there is no individual initiative then the east will see future economic growth
