rule of thumb...under back...over forward ...third cut 1" from stem top down 45dedrees...also look at some of the professional clips on you tube and you'll learn quickly....sorry about your mishap and hope you are ok....

The insurance companies just pile these accidents with the pros thus huge premiums. Do us all a favor and educate yourself to make a simple bottom cut and then a top cut. Try sharpening your saw it will also make life easier and try to think about what your doing
