This is really taking the biscuit now, I have been photographing trains around the UK since 1988 and only until the recent years, none of the harrassment bullshit from station staff existed. Why do they treat us like public enemy number one when infact we are on their side as extra eyes and ears while we are there filming trains as part of our hobby? Do you serious think a terroist would stand on the platform photographing/filming trains? They need to seriously get a grip and look into....1/2

Also if this fails, get their details and file a complaint to the TOC that operates that station. I think its time we should stand up to these jobsworth morons as we are supposed to be living in a "free" country and as I far as I know. Their is no laws stating that photography on railway stations within the UK is prohibited.

Why is it that we cant be issued with identity cards which we have to carry to show that we are train enthusiasts. If there was a sensible list of things we had to do to get these cards it would prevent terrorists from getting them. It might also stop the public staring at us!!
I read that you have to have a valid ticket to film or station pass if local from now but you can go to the end of the platform and film. Probs youll be watched but... I do agree, its a popular hobby.

it was in the Daily Express that NXEC are providing Platform passes for people wishing to film/photo but it wll coz around £5 - £10.
I live on the west coast so... But I do trips to Doncaster and Retford.
