I don't get the those that refuse evolution. It seems that most of them feel that their faith is threatened do to the biases of that faith resting solely on the genesis myth. I'm an atheist but, I see no reason why the faithful can't accept evolution as the how as opposed to the why. @IndianaJ25 What makes it the truth? Simply because we do not YET know for sure how life began does I suppose mean one can toss a God into that gap of knowledge, but I have no idea what good it does. Why do you prefer to do so? I'm not attacking you, I am honestly curious. It's not an explanation, if anything it makes a complicated question even more complicated does it not?

In what way are you not just sticking a God in there, simply because you have believed in a God all of your life does not help me understand why you feel a "God helped evolution" you called it truth, how do you know it to be truth? Belief = truth? "I will continue believing" I am not trying to persuade you otherwise.

I wish all christians were like you my friend :) Sadly I don't personally know a single one like you, I simply know they exist. I'm curious, if I may, what makes you call yourself a christian? Is it more of a Deistic view, IE you simply believe in a God, or do you believe in the story of Jesus, resurrection etc? Just asking cause I have never talked to someone like you.

Yeah these extremist guys SUCK, they make all religions look bad. BTW I'm a Muslim and I can't stand extreme evil groups like wahhabis and al qaeda that make Muslims look bad. And i also accept evolution. I won't say "believe" cuz it's not a belief, it's an evident scientific fact without metaphysical mysteries and requires ZERO faith from a person. A person can't really "disbelieve" in basic tested and established scientific evidence without coming across as a total dumbass IMO.

@ItsTheBibby That's a bizarre question. I don't think anyone becomes a Muslim to "gain benefit from the holidays". There simply aren't that many of them. And they're not about getting presents the way Christmas is.
Like I said before, one doesn't "believe" in evolution, since it doesn't actually require faith. Believing in Allah is not a barrier to accepting the overall validity of a time-tested scientific theory. The Qur'an doesn't contain a detailed creation story such as genesis.

@Tyler31246 Christianity says all existing lifeforms are created by "god" and are supposed to stay the way they are. So that the fossil remains from an ancestor of a nowdays existing lifeform just can't be true, and is a "heresy". So if you believe in evolution by definition you can't be christian. I don't believe in any "god" and even I know that. You don't even know about your own religion. It's like someone considering himself as a muslim but eating pork chops every week. lol.

I don't get the those that refuse evolution. It seems that most of them feel that their faith is threatened do to the biases of that faith resting solely on the genesis myth. I'm an atheist but, I see no reason why the faithful can't accept evolution as the how as opposed to the why. Maybe if there is a god he/she/it could have just set it in motion and let nature do it's thing. Just a thought.

Naw, you don't let nature do it's thing. I believe they were created via evolution under the guidance of an intelligent being. Though I don't believe we evolved. Things happened in too many leaps and bounds for the theory of evolution to not have someone guiding it. See, I think it's funny you say that actually, because I don't understand how it can be refused that someone was guiding this. P.S. I hate debating my beliefs, respond if you want but I'm done and not threatened by evolution. : )
