I can't help but feel that if Tide really wanted to help, they would quietly provide this service and not make a commercial out of it, patting themselves on the back and driving more sales.

Thanks for your comment - I'm sure you are not the only person who feels this way. IMHO, since part of the Tide program is funded from sales of t-shirts, this commercial allows Tide to do more than it would be able to do otherwise. (BTW - this is my personal opinion)
