If you aren't familiar with opera, I am not sure it's a good "first time" opera as not everyone likes every single part of it. But... if you search for Turandot here and listen to different clips, you'll get a better idea if you like it.

I Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!! I used to listen to Pavarotti since I was 8 yrs old in Mexico and although did not know what he was saying, it would always made my cry. I felt everything he was expressing through his voice. I'm now 41 living in NYC, and now that I know what he's saying, I understand why his powerful voice made me shiver and cry when I was so young.
