If we can spend 500 on a booze we should spend a 50 on buying some food or water for them. Its not the poor's fault that but that they were born this way.
Everything Humanly Possible, is all we can do, is all we will do.
lol....horrible video! Juxtaposing images of well-to-do people with the indigent is the oldest way for guilt tripping people into paying for a charity. Try asking all the "main ghar ka kharcha chalaoonga" people about paying taxes, about going through 20 years of schooling, millions of entrance tests, about understanding home budgets.. Problem is, the heroes in India and a massive chunk of the GDP are really the middle class and I hope we respect that instead of making them look like douches.
@eratosthanes Understand the thought behind the video before being brash. I, for once, have been in the shoes of one of those indigents. I am reminded of my mom when the woman in the video talks about spending for kids ans saving the rest for future. The ideal way for you to spend your 500 bucks would be to get a piercing done but it also means different things to different people. Talking in a condescending manner about people who aren't as lucky as you shows the kind of spoilt dork you are.
@eratosthanes And the amount of cash you blow away in writing umpteen entrances to win the rat race is a years salary to some people. They can't afford to think and be like you. Mark my words - You are born lucky not everyone is like you.
@yossarian2909 Actually...I'm not...I'm a rather middle class person myself. Now if the video above was just a disinterested little piece on how people think...that would've been cool. But no....here he is...basically calling all the "poor" to be hardworking n etc. while the "rich" kids are douches! I think that is just horrible...and very very lame! For a fact...just check how much these "poor" blokes spend during their festivals...i can wager its a huge chunk of their earnings..
@eratosthanes The poor blokes sometimes spend large chunks of their earnings on their religious beliefs and things they place their faith on. cant b blamed. the video, if taken in the right sense, doesnt portray the well off as douches. its not intended to make anyone look bad. instead if it made one person to think he can do more than what he is already doing for the society, I'll think its a huge success. its very small harmless contributions and help that eventually builds to great favors.
@eratosthanes Growing up, I've seen my parents donating whatever little they had to people who deserved some help. Coming from a middle class family I know the importance of help. A meal, one piece of cloth and some times a smile helps people go a long way. And trust me, I'm trying my part before I type these things here. and it feels very good knowing that at some remote corner of my own India, there's one child going to school, having food in time and getting regular health checkups.
The girl at 0.48 who say any julia roberts movie is sucha useless piece of s.... and such a wannabe girl. Fell like laughing when she says julia roberts movie, such a idiot.
@youtube My sincere apologize to u all becoz if instantly somebody ask what u would do if u hav 500 rupees means all say what they wish but the comparison of two sections of people made me to comment like that if any body give me 500 i go for Endhiran movie for 125 and rest i spend as donation
@Youtube In this video i see some people who doesnt know what poverty is, a guy says i spend for piercing a girl says any julia roberts movie is it a way to spend money, a lower class economic lady says she spend a little and save for her children future a poor boy says he take 250 and give 250 to mum i really love this video it shows how to spend and how to save money. if someone gives a 500 to me i ll spend for a education of orphan children
nice video! effort appreciated. This will spread awareness among privileged people about their responsibilities. It surely has made me re-realize value of money :) @shodhansaher - dude, why are you wasting your precious time watching this video and making negative comments here?? go quick and spend time to better reflect on government policies that actually help these people!!
Its useless trying to spread shame or pity by asking a contrasting mix of people about what they would do with money. How about spending this time to better reflect on government policies that actually help these people?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
lolz....nothing can be done until our politicians reliaze abt the poverty of normal people...as they are only powerful and capable to give what people want..
this video fuck off....go and help whomever u can...save as much u can..
i'm trying from my side. apart from mine i'm taking care of one more family and also funding the studies of another deserving kid, a kid I've never seen or heard from. I feel happy doing so. Will keep doing it as long as possible. question to you. have you been doing your part?
To those who have been asking what to do with the $ instead: Why not donate it to some legitimate charity that directly helps poor people? (to build schools, provide shelter or food etc) There are surely droves to choose from in Mumbai. Or better yet, use the money to buy food to simply GIVE AWAY to the next poverty-stricken child/family you see! As cliched as it sounds, little things like this can really add up....
You're right. and as the person who posted this video, I've been doin wat u suggested, for some time now. I'm using the humanitarian organisation World Vision India to do my part. There're lots of such organisations. It is our responsibility to change our country's present face. And there is no better step than to ensure our country's young generation gets wat they need, for sure they wil return the favor by making India a better place to live in.
Yes you can feel bad about it, and yes maybe you can try to help others.
BUT...realize that there are far more important things than money and be responsible. Remember that ass kissing you did for your boss over the weekend while making your wife angry to earn the extra few bucks? That time can be spent making you happier.
See, this is what I support fully! Tell the Indian government to allow businesses to do whatever, but make sure the government sets up schooling and education.
I wish there were more people like Amma. (Not my amma, just a woman called "Amma") Even though she did not go to school herself, she set up schools in villages. Hundreds of people go to her for spiritual meetings.
If India get's a 90% literacy rate by 2025, superpower-dom will definitely arrive much faster!
Nice video peeps. One tiny suggestion, thinking before spending is fine..but think about what, the poverty in India? I know about it. The guy next to me knows about it too. We all feel *BAD* about it. Give us a way to change it. See my flow of thought? Don't make people feel bad about spending 500 rupees. Tell them what they should be spending it on.
nice video u've put up.. makes u wonder.. but its no use just to watch it n feel sorry about dem... N it dosen even make sense if u just ' 'THINK' BEFORE YOU SPEND'.. coz it dosen help anyone.. u gotta help them out by actually givin a lil bit to some good & trustworthy (very important!!) charitable organisation.. a little goes a long way...[:)]
No one can do what YOU can do.
We made the different classes to separate us all.
If we can spend 500 on a booze we should spend a 50 on buying some food or water for them. Its not the poor's fault that but that they were born this way.
Everything Humanly Possible, is all we can do, is all we will do.
God Bless you all.

clearly the government isnt doing enough, waiting for them is not going to solve much, so people need to take the problem into their own hands.
