  • Two cups of sugar? Sounds too sweet to me. :(

  • I recently rediscovered how delicious pickles are. I cannot get enough of it! I will try your recipe once I get my kitchen and ingredients together.

  • nice i will try it as soon as possible cheers !

  • can you use pickling onions for this recipie in place of pickles.

  • pickles and sugar

    sounds really creepy

am one of the guys that doesnt like sweet things

    but i like salty pickles

i wonder how it would taste though

  • Great recipes! I loved the cheeseball & granola! How long are these good for & can you store them in the fridge? thanks

  • Glad you like them. The Cheese Ball, covered tightly, should last a week or two. Ditto with the granola. The granola can be frozen for up to 6 months. To see these and all of my recipes, visit my channel "RecipeCook" ~Rita

  • I made these pickles and I guess the sliced dills I bought to make them with were too thin ? They curled up when they rebrined in the sugar mixture. It gave them a weird texture because they had shrivelled and curled Any input ?

  • First, I'm sorry it didn't work. I've never had a failure with this recipe. I use the inexpensive Hamburger dill chips, the wavy kind, from Kroger Supermarket. The pickles are about 1/4" thick. As long as they are this thickness, wavy or not, any brand should work well. ~R

  • Rita, Could I use home canned dill pickles to make these?

    Thanks

  • You know, I've never used my home canned dills for that recipe. I suppose you could if they're just plain dills cut real thin like the store-bought ones. Let me know how they turn out. Awesome that you are canning your own pickles!~Rita

  • Is it possible to make several batches of these and can them? If so, how would you do that?

    btw, great vid!

  • You can double or triple the recipe but it can't be canned. They last, though, for over 6 months in the frig.

    Glad you liked it. ~Rita

  • Hi Cant wait to try these pickles.....question? Could I make a 2nd, 3rd batch after the intial batch using just the leftover juice/brine from the original batch? Maybe just add some more sugar?

  • Unfortunately not, as that juice/brine will be too weak to make them real crisp even with more sugar. But you can make a double or triple batch all at once. They are addictive! ~Rita

  • OK, thanks for the information Rita. Fabulous videos and very well done. All the best !!!

  • Do you have a recipe for actually making pickles? I would like to see how to make a great dill pickle from the cucumber.

  • Sure...but I'm not able to post recipes here - too many words.

Visit my site - AboutEating and search for pickle-recipe

    Thanks

    Rita
