@Zscheesus It's a matter of time before the EU at 'least' sees some nations pulling away. The EU foundations are built on propaganda, outright lies and a disgustingly anti-democracy, anti-freedom sentiment. People are waking up to the fact that they never got a chance to vote on allowing the EU commission this crazy level of power, and those that did get a vote were bluntly ignored and bullied.

Whether those nations leave peacefully or whether there is violence, remains to be seen.

@Zscheesus I am from the USA. I have to tell you that what you say about the common currency is not the same as with the US. First off- all of the US shares only ONE language and for the most part only ONE culture. Europe is many languages and many different cultures...this also means many different economy models. With some hard work you can possibly share one model with many languages but you CANNOT do it with different cultures. It's set up for failure. Something's gotta give.

To be honest, however annoying I may find him, he talks sense. The European Union is a nice idea, but it's just been executed so unbelievably badly. If they're going to create a European Parliament, why on earth didn't they model it on the US Congress? The whole thing works perfectly and is democratically elected, not to mention the checks and balances stop tyrannical government, but the European model is a bit of a joke to be honest.

The idea put forward by Mr Farage that Britain and Finland somehow woke up after 30 & 15 years respectively, & discovered that(SHOCK! HORROR!) there was, & is a European Commission which has a mandate to propose legislation, & that they knew NOTHING about this is, at best, being a little economical with the facts. The Commission, with its mandate, has been part of the project since the founding of the European Coal & Steel Community in 1951. He is either ignorant, or lying.

The problem is, people say they want freedom, but what they really want is fascism. The Left indoctrinates people into thinking it's necessary to control the private sector and speech, as if they're the big boogie men, while the Right tells its voters that if only women weren't allowed abortions and there were no gay people, suddenly the world would be a better place. The irony for me is that as these dictatorial governments, both left and right, fail miserably, the deeper societies get into fascism. Great statements but there is a miscommunication in the "United States of Europe" quip. That isn't at all where you are or headed to. While it's true that our American federal government has morphed into a illegal (unconstitutional) national government, we still have a Tenth Amendment. It is precisely that amendment that is allowing states to to finally ramp up and push very vigorously back against this wholly out of control national government.

Sadly in Europe you folks don't even have that.

Everyone knows politicians are corrupt, but somehow we're all willing to give them power to protect us against what we perceive is the "greater evil." You can't have freedom and respect the will of the people if you believe some of those people, even if they're law abiding citizens, are evil and you must make them just like you.
