  • This is just simply gorgeous :') I always hope to learn the Viola da Gamba some day :')

This is without a shadow of a doubt one of my favourite genres of classical music <3

  • Las piezas para viola de gamba de Marais son increibles todas y cada una de ellas

  • so beautiful :)

  • this could make a believer out of me

  • Yea!!!!

  • Great piece of music and - as usual - superbly played by the three of you with much passion. You seem to also enjoy it !.

Many thanks for the upload !

  • Only discovered your videos last night and have been enjoying them today in Texas! What a wonderful ensemble and love your sound. Being a Baroque lover myself it's always good to hear the real thing as played (or interpreted as closely as possible from our 21st Centure perspective) by the very Baroque masters we love so well.

  • Gorgeous music, played with great flair and total unity. I love it.

  • I took the liberty of sharing this video on my FB profile - with great pleasure!!!

  • Great temperament!!!!

Marais with such a delightful swing!!!!

    Love it!

    Great continuo group, of course!!

  • Lovely Chaconne ... i like the instrumentation too !!! ♥♥♥

could you please give me the details of this particular chaconne ? i was able to find several free manuscript copies of this on imslp but i can't seem to find this one chaconne ... pls help ? ... thanks !!!

    5/5 and favorited !!! :-)

  • @PeriodinstrumentfaN We have only the facsimile of the original engraving of Book 5 of Marais (No. 83); the facsimile is published by Fuzeau, and there is a modern edition by Broude Brothers, edited by John Hsu.

  • @Walvis2007 ... Thank you for the reply ! Yes, i have read of Edition Fuzeau... the Pratum Integrum CD of J-F Rebel's Music has info about Fuzeau ... i'm interested in getting a copy. :-) ..

i stand corrected ....Sorry the IMSLP only has livres I & II ... not livre V.... i try to avoid Edited scores ... i was able to get (a modern edition of) Biber's Rosary sonata from a famous book store in new york... but we were disappointed to find out that the continuo part sounded like Chopin ... :-s

  • hey, which chaconne is this?? ... from which book/livre from Marais works is this??

  • @Lutzenberger This is from Marais Pieces de Violes, 5e (Book 5) Livre, 1724, Piece No. 83.

  • great video

  • Oh this is very good !! Maestro !

  • great!

  • Marais wunderschön musiziert von einem Ensemble, das miteinander hervorragend harmoniert. Ein Genuss!

  • very good!!
