If Obama doesn't keep with his promise to try to reach across the aisle, then we're gonna have another Clinton administration versus the GOP situation. This is a conservative country; you can't attempt to ram through progressive legislation in this country without a long-term defeat. It's a lose-lose situation. I'd rather I can look back on this administration and say "he did all he could to make bipartisan legislation" than to simply say "he did what all political parties do".

The only reason that Cenk is so Hell bent on the public option is because he wants to stick it to the Republicans after eight years of getting pushed around. WOW - Olbermann and the rest of the liberals think Obama isn't left enough? Are they serious?? I guess Americans (liberals) really won't be happy until we become the United Socialist States of America... unbelievable!

Do you even know what socialism is? And what it stands for? You must be one lonely and pityful person. Is there any empathy in you? Socialism stands for social equality, justice and freedom. You mistake modern scandinavian socialism for russian comunism. Read something about it. Something written by european scientist that experienced it on daily basis not rush or sean. Get a grip man.

You still don't get it. I never said there's something wrong with modern socialism. Try reading my post once again. Communism, as an idea and term first appeard during French Revolution i XVIII th century. Before Marx was even born. Communism - community, ring any bells? And Van Jones resigned cause pressure from the right, and cause Obama is a pussy. And calling names only shows how pathetic your arguments are. You've never even smelled socialism I suggest you do before writing about it.

Notice that none of these right-wing whackos have any problem with ex-Communists in their own ranks, like David Horowitz, for example? The whole neocon movement began with ex-Communists like Irving Kristol. And notice how closely the political tactics of the Far Right parallel those of the old Communist Internationale. One editor actually nicknamed them the 'Conintern'.

Agree. Bush and his pack cooked Patriot Act and randitions, wiretapped American citizens, made torture legal. That is Stalins communistic social invigilation at it's best. But listen to the right wing. That's patriotism. When ultra conservatives take away your social rights that's for your own protection. When liberal democrats want social healthcare that's facism, communism and a whole bunch of other things. Hypocrisy of those people is immense.

Not just in their policies, but in their tactics as well. They have their own 'think-tanks' issuing official party-line positions: their own propaganda outlets posing as legitimate media, cell-groups among the religious right and elsewhere; a 'popular front' in the GOP---it's about like the 'Red Orchestra' the Soviets used to run in other countries. Though this time, it's neo-Fascist.and run out of Washington and Wall Street.
