As for the writers of the Constitution, all I can say is that in their time a Christian marriage was between a man an a woman, and their children were legitimated under the laws. I don't think they required a written definition of "Natural Born Citizen" as mentioned in the Constitution. The citizens were the people included into a society who were loyal to the nation.

His father, Barack Sr was a British Subject at the time Barack Jr was born.
He lost British citizenship when Kenya gained independence in 1963. He never invoked Kenyan citizenship nor did he ever renounce his US citizenship that he got, as you noted because his mother was an American citizen and Hawaii is US soil.
He is a natural born US citizen.

The bottomline is that Bush/Cheney are responsible for the verification of the incoming President. If you are going to call Bush and Cheney out then don't expect the rest of us to blame Obama for this mess. To date, Bush/Cheney haven't talked about it, and so far, no one has taken them to task for what role they had.
I have to assume that Bush/Cheney followed procedures; otherwise, this is at least 90 percent their fault.

You are not going to play the race card to excuse Bush/Cheney... If they neglected their responsibilty because he was Black, then both of them are total sissies and afraid of the Blacks; therefore, they had no business in office. Security is more important than the fear of the Black Race, plain and simple. If they could not hack the pressure then they had no business running for office.

You are echoing the concept that we are NOT a country based on law. Progressives would be viewed as much more acceptable to me if they honored and obeyed the laws of our land. But they don't.
It is my perception and opinion that progressives think of themselves as being better than the 'ordinary' folks and believe they can make a more perfect country. Too bad that 'old' Constitution gets in the way of progressives just running amuck.
Find another country that is more amenable to your style.

Then think about the U.S. Constitution as a limiting and controlling device over the federal government. Now examine every single law that Congress has enacted that is outside of the 18 things that Congress is empowered to do. There are literally thousands of illegal actions performed by Congress.
Now look at Obama, who is NOT a natural born citizen and he knows it. Flagrant violation of the law.

To add some specifics, the Federal Reserve Bank is illegal. Social Security is illegal. Department of Education is illegal. Most commerce laws are illegal. Generally every time you hear the word 'fair' or 'fairness' raise your hand and question the legality of the subject.
The ratification of the Sixteenth Amendment is in serious question, and if found illegal, is null and void.
Everything about these people is 'the end justifies the means' and screw the Constitution.

Regarding the legal challenges to my examples, there are books written on the topics.
If you do some research on your own, you will find them. Read Judge Napolitano's book Constitutional Chaos. Read Mark Levin's Liberty and Tyranny. Read the Constitution and decide for yourself.

BTW, Folks, this is a legal question about Obama's eligibility - not a political question.
Much research has been done and the consensus is that Obama is NOT a natural born citizen (his alleged father was a British subject, not an American citizen), and no amount of false arguments by supporters will make him eligible to hold the office of POTUS.
