  • Interesting video - friend and subscribe for day trading, day trader, day trade videos, technical analysis...

  • Most guitarists can be imitated. Including Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Paul Gilbert etc etc. But it's pretty impossible to imitate Paco De Lucia. That right hand of his sets him apart from other fingers - and shits all over plectrum users.

  • @kharnvelzyghur it's right bro......

  • madre mía que manera de tocar!

  • Honestly i think this is unsurpassed in terms of expressiveness,on guitar. My fave.

  • Absolutely awesome. One of my fave, poignant guitar song type thing, for sure.

  • @megaprtscr What is the name of this song ?

  • @seymursoylar "David"

  • Excelente..

  • John y Paco geniales , dos representantes de dos culturas en la cima. La excelencia a nuestro alcance.

  • John y Paco geniales , dos representantes de dos culturas en la cima.

  • Alucinante!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • superbe

  • Great video. They actually sound better without Al lol.

  • @zebra64 My favorite team would be Al and Paco. I like John, but those are my top two of the three

  • @zebra64 you're so right much better!

  • @zebra64 you're so right much better!

Maybe the guitar trio would have sounded better if Al also would have used a nylon string guitar

  • @schwoazi finally i've found somebody who think just like me! Al's style didn't fit at all with the trio's sound. even though Al did play in theyre last album a couple of tunes with nylon string guitar, he didn't get the sound of a flamenco guitar like John always does.

  • ya mrachak.douk el musika.wallah i love it.l

  • Paco de Lucia... espectacular!! tiene un estilo único...

  • does someone knows the name of this tune?

  • @6c1r09 is called "david"

  • @6c1r09 David

  • I LOVE THIS GUYS

  • he is very good. but hes stubbornly a flamenco player.

  • bravisimo :))

  • So booooooooooooooooring!

  • And that's how it should be.... a wrist picker and a finger picker ups-staging each other. Glorious!

  • Je dois dire que je suis impressionnée par ce "tschschtttt!!!" (1.09 min.) à l'auditoire. Il est vrai que le manque de respect dérange l'artiste sur la scène.

  • this is fantastic!!

  • there will newer be beter playing than this. this is ultimate hight.

  • Muy bueno!

  • too insane for human beings.

  • Where in Freiburg was it?! Beautiful tune.

  • Thank you very much for sharing this gem with the world. Excellence should always be present in the minds of new and future generations of musicians.

  • That's the way to play guitar. Awesome !!!:) D

  • OK....now you play lead.......yikes......

  • What a pleasure!!!! Thnks 4 sharing

  • Pacoooo GENIO

  • Okay this is "serioius" music but somehow 7:24 onwards brought Tom & Jerry to mind. Run, peek, run, peek LOL ;)

  • Fantastic!

  • п........................ц!!! Это высший класс!!! Разговор двух гениев

  • El John este con dos cojones...jejejejeje

  • Phenomenal.3:01 Paco's quick descending scale thing...Awesome playing,awesome composition.

  • rofl JM tells some dude to shut up?

  • @OwnedRL

i think it's a buzzing speaker or a microphone that's bleeding unwanted sound maybe.

  • Thanks Nano...

  • This is pretty amazing.

  • Actually, I mis-remembered. This piece is called David! From the Passion, Grace, Fire album.

  • The name of this piece is Belo Horizonte, from the album by the same name that McLaughlin released in the early 80s.

  • each guitar style needs its own technique. with a pick you can play all guitars, 6 and 12 string, nylon

/steel, electric/acoustic. with classical technique you stay on one guiar only.

  • I am a finger style guitar player myself so i can say only one thing..one pick cant match up to 5 picks in finger style playing but i guess steel needs the pick/plectrum only...and strumming is forte of steel strings...

  • very beautiful music!!

can u send me the tabs??hahaha

would like to play around with this stuff in my lunch time..:))

  • Lucia's picking is impossible

  • John McLaughlin is smoking weed

    lol

  • 2:14

  • what is the name of the song? :) love it!

  • It's called "David" but the beginning it's from the album called "One summer night-live" from 1984 it has songs such as: Alta Mar,Palenque,Chiquito, and others...this song is influenced by the song called Zyryab at the end of the play...it's a lovely mix of various songs.Cheers

  • damn, you know your stuff :D thanks!

  • Yes this is David. It is also on the album Passion Grace and Fire, though that recording of this pieces is very different than this one.

    ~Kaimi

  • I thought this concert was in 1987, wasn´t it ?

  • No, I'm pretty sure it was '86. Whatever.....

  • What is the name of the concert, and where can I find it. Oh and the first link you gave us is not working.

Thank you for sharing this great videos with us...

  • That phrase paco does towards the end duelling with john is so good

  • Emmanuel's a great technician too, like MAB or Lane, or Becker. But I prefer more melodicism

than Emmanuel and Shawn tended to use, more phrasing then MAB and Becker tend(ed) to use.

MAB does play incredibly well here and there, like on his accoustic medley vid (saw it here on YouTube, visual quality's not the best, but the music is pretty well unbelievable), but unfortunately he's inconsistent, sometimes just seemingly going through the motions. Maybe he's moody, I don't know.

  • After Django these guys are the best along with Birelli LaGrenne, Ritchie Blackmore, Stochello Rosenberg Marty Friedman, Danny Gatton, Stevie Ray Vaughn,Yngwie Malmsteen, Mark Knoppfler, Tony Rice, Elliot Fisk, Christopher Parkening, Grisha Goryachev, Tibi Tatrai, and a few more. I know they're all different styles, but I'm pretty eclectic except for (C)rap and most punk.

  • u forget Tommy Emmanuel :)

otherwise, yea they are all great!

  • John goes from very subtle to extremely agressive, slow to lightning quick quite often in his playing. I wonder if he's listened to Django a lot, since Django was full of that kind of fire and passion. I think Django is still the ultimate because even when exploding his music was always beautifully melodic.

  • The level of understanding between these two men is extraordinary. These guys tap their feet with more feeling than most players solo. Another level of existence, let alone guitar playing.

  • excuse me, i went back to the wrong video...

  • Paco's the man...di meola has no rhythm...

  • al di meola has a perfect rhythm and this video is with john mclaughlin.

  • its so good

  • Wow, listening to this tune again reminds how wonderfully sensitive John can be in his playing ! What guitar does he player here ?

  • it's a Marielle

  • Wonderful! "David" is one of my favorite songs from "Passion, Grace, and Fire". What a treat to hear this performed live by two absolute masters.

  • Shhh!

  • Fucking beautiful!!!!

  • The name is Alta Mar.

  • perfect // shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh lool

  • What is the name of this song? Thanks for the video, exelent .

  • it´s a medley, but the title of the first part is "David" from the album "passion grace and fire" (1983)

  • Aaale!

    Muchas gracias!

  • Great quality. Please, more from this concert!

  • find more in my videos

  • THanks man! I snagged them all 3 months ago though!LOL! Do you have Florianopolis too? It is on youtube split it 2 parts, but very low quality. I prefer the quality of yours. If you have it, it would be awesome!
