  • as usual, before their time!! すごいでしょ!!

  • The noise before and after the track are part of the whole composition. It's almost 25 years old. Incredible work, still holds up.

  • I fucking love this.

  • i've watched this vid a couple of times but until now i still don't get it.

This weird and yet incredible style is the reason why I love P5.

    佐々木麻美子、いいなぁ…

  • 曲は知ってるけどこんなPVがあったとは知らなんだ。

    佐々木さんは今どうしてるのか?

  • Audrey Hepburn dreams on acid in Japan. perhaps the greatest achievement in all of humanity. I'll take two dozen, please..

  • absolutely - indubitably- cool to the third power!

  • I know for a fact that every member of this group has post-doctorate experience in the science of cool.

  • in 1985, vocal was Mamiko Sasaki

    not Maki Nomiya

  • I have several of their CD's as well as a couple albums, but have never heard this song. What year is it from?

  • I have several of their CD's as well as a couple albums, but have never heard this song. What year is it from?

  • of course i love P5 with NOMIYA Maki, but SASAKI Mamiko is the origin of P5.

  • Tokyo's coolest combo. ?

    Milky Way's coolest combo. !

    Ever.

  • 25年以上も経つのに今でも鮮烈。

  • Which album is this song from?

    Seriously, a fucking amazing song.

  • Regardless who is singing Konishi Yasuharu is the mastermind behind this.

  • Was this a different lead singer?

  • @Qhrome The group consisted of Mamiko Sasaki (vocals), Yasuharu Konishi , Keitaro Takanami, and Ryo Kamomiya (songwriting and arrangement) at the time (I prefer this lineup over any other permutation of Pizzicato Five...).

  • @Qhrome she's SASAKI Mamiko, who was the first lead singer of Pizzicat Five. NOMIYA Maki is the third singer, while TAJIMA Takao(male) is the second one.

  • Maki Nomiya is better than this one.

  • this is amazing.

  • This is so cool!

  • So Paris!

  • 私はこの曲からはまりました・・ピチカート・・画は始めてかも・・

  • こんなの初めて見た!感動しました!

  • Oh, insanely cool. I was youtube-browsing and it went like Sly and Family Stone > YMO > Harry Haroumi > Miharu Koshi > here. I reckon that was fate~~ :D

  • @tokyokisshu122

yea, it's weird how that works isn't it. I don't know what I came here for, now i'm on this.

  • It's from the 1990's, just looks old (hence the name of the song). Awesome group, have most of their albums.

  • @TishKitty: This is their first single from 1985

  • @ZilogJones Very cool, I didn't know they had been around that long, I discovered them in the early 90's

  • Great song and video

  • 19 stars out of a possible 5

  • 2:38-3:50 gives me goosebumps every time I hear this song....I never knew there was a video for it lol.

  • すごいね!いいね!

  • I had seen their very 1st concert at Shibuya Live-In in 1985.

  • Is this another singer?

  • Yes, Its Mamiko Sasaki.

The previous singer of Pizzicato Five

  • one of the best songs coming from the eighties. I love pizzicato five and I love Aurdey Hepburn. What a combo!

  • I wish i could have an Audrey Hepburn Complex... PizzicatoV is AWESOME!!!!

  • Why is everything Pizzicato Five does so incredibly weird and yet so incredibly awesome?

  • @zomgthesoftness Cos they're Japanese :)

  • @zomgthesoftness

Right you are my friend, right you are...

  • @zomgthesoftness it must be a wonderful nexus of IQ and art... They obviously have a surplus of both. i'd have given my left nut to have hung out with them... Tokyo never had it so cool...

  • @zomgthesoftness you would have to study the soul and what was behind it to understand it...

  • this is really weird.......but kinda cool in its own way

  • I think it sounds great!

  • what the heck!!?

  • interesting, up till today i had only seen Maki perform

  • Wow this is old! I've always wanted to hear P5s early stuff. I've heard a re-recorded version of this with Maki on the vocals (I think it's her anyway) and I didn't really think much of it. This, however, is better than I could have imagined! Everything about it just screams 80s! And Mamiko is such a classic beauty!

  • P5 driving a Rover P6 :)

  • 当時のビデオクリップとしてはかなりレベル高いんじゃないか

    たいして予算もかけてないだろうに

  • Before the fat years

  • epic

  • they're awesome

  • It's my favorite video of P5. I love this song. ^^

  • Lol it was weird but I love the song!

  • いや、これは良い

  • love how when all the shoes fall the person doesn't even do anything, like it happens all the time.

  • THIS is why I LOVE them to SHREDS. They're so creative!

  • That was freakin' amazing. However this is not the same singer as in the other music videos?

  • P 5 were always good about featuring retro, this one is cute. Reminds me of those cheap lame music videos from the 80's that MTV wouldnt even show...

  • late 70s video

  • Ótimo clipe! adorei!

  • Jacques Tati!

  • 佐々木麻美子最高!

  • I adore Maki Nomiya, but I love Mamiko Sasaki on lead vocals too. This song & video are charmingly quirky in a mid-80s way. Thanks for sharing it!

  • The Audrey Hepburn Complex...marrying a guy while you're in love with someone else

  • I love this song and video clip!! ^-^ the shoe part made me laugh xD

  • WOW! WOW! WOW! MAGNIFICENT! I got no words to express my delight!

  • Excellent. Beautiful! So light and so cool :-). The whole video & the song just make me smile all the time. super major cool. Ahhh adore it!

  • the guy with marakass is my idol!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • domo arigato to post dat one i love pizzicato 5 ^_^

  • so cute soong!

  • i love this song

  • i love it. i had never heard this song by them. it's very kate bush to me. hehe.

  • What exactly is the Audrey Hepburn complex? And did she actaully suffer those symptoms that crosscountry mantioned?

  • That complex is what happens in most of Audrey's films (though I can't say, because I was never around for her movies...). That said, it would do good to remember that P5 is a 80's group which opts to play 60's-themed music, despite the fact that before Nomiya, they sounded like early Mecano (spanish band). (Even better to remember is the fact that Audrey's acting peaked [I dunno about that, 'cause I wasn't around] in the 60's!)

  • i adore the guy around 1:38 :-)))))))))

  • Some site had a torrent of the P5'85 album which had this song, but I CAN'T DOWNLOAD IT!

  • I downloaded that album.

  • when?

  • El videoclip es TOTAL. Es de 1985. This song is included in their first short LP, 'Pizzicatomania!' and it was remastered in 2003 as 'Pizzicato Five '85', the album also includes a cover of Simon & Garfunkel's '59th Street Bridge Song' which by far I think it's the best cover version ever done of the song. Sure, it's sheer synth pop, but it's sitll one of the best acts to come out of Japan. It still sounds charming!

  • sooooooo oldschool shit

  • lol

  • Only heard of Pizzacato Five today from OrangeColita. I'm a Cibo Matto fan - these guys are similar but have more of a "Kitchy" sound in most of their songs. This video looks like it may be from the 80's. I'm a fan of Jacques Tati as well - poster in this clip is for his film "Mon Oncle" which is a masterpiece SS

  • That's because (no offence) the video IS from the 1980s --- 1985, to be exact

  • That's Cool and a little earie - Mon Oncle was made in 1958.

I don't think we should be so embarased about the 80s

  • I'm not embarrassed about them --- I was just pointing out that the video IS from the 80s. Also, I was born in the tail end of the 80s --- April 15, 1989, to be exact.

  • Truly Tokyo's coolest combo!

  • Me encanta :3

  • どこで入手したんですかあなたは!!!

  • エムレを つかいました。。

  • P5 forever

  • Agreed!!! =D

  • Loved this crap!

  • Don't watch it then, NUMBNUT!

  • dun bother

  • Can someone plz explain 2 me the relation btw this video n Audrey? Faaaar out!

  • OK, you numb-nut. This is from the Pizzicato Five Lyrics Database (in other words, not mine):

"....Personally, I think it deals with a girl who´s gonna marry the next day but suddenly she falls in love with another man. Then, she starts to suffer the "Audrey Hepburn Complex": that´s to say, she feels like being observed by everyone, her head aches, burns, she faints, etc..."

  • Love that synth buzz!

  • Beautiful!!!, That´s so 80´s. . .

  • What? You're kidding, right?

  • Mentos, the freshmaker!

  • I found this when looking for a video of Audrey Hepburn in Green Mansions.. now this is stuck in my head! Haha, love it =D

  • Lol awesome video. I had a feeling it wouln't have direct reference to Audrey, but I love Pizzicato Five regardless. Pretty cool :)

  • Wow, you are ignorant.

  • Excellent vidéo. Thanks for the add....you made my day (in fact, my night)

  • It's interesting to hear how much, and yet how little Pizzicato Five's style has changed. This is immediately recognizable as P5, but it's so different and odd. I love it. If only I could track down the album...

  • duh

  • ... Obviously.

"The Audrey Hepburn Complex" is just the name of the song.

  • very ketchy! :D <3 <3 <3

  • Dreamlike (a good one) tune... Thanks for video publish it... I wanna live in a Pizzicato world, at least 4 hours a day

  • what

  • This is more like an Audrey Hepburn Spoof, not a COMPLEX. But anyways, I think this video is really cool!

  • coooooooool!!!!!

  • love it!

  • Yamaha DX7-a-go-go!

  • The Excitement of the Do-Re-Mi-Fa Girl

  • This is brilliant!

  • isnt this because some asian country decided Audrey was the perfect image?

  • It's a really weird video, but REALLY good video

  • WHAT THE FUCK ?!!!!!

  • Nunca había escuchado (ni visto) algo de ellos de los 80. Lindo ver que los 80 fueron iguales en todo el mundo!!
