WDHS Concert Band performs "Fate of the Gods"

Need to bring out brass more on the closing segment. Other than that, sounds pretty good. Rushing here and there. But thats typical for this song. I love it, and am playing it now.

This is good to be concert band but instead of playing level what 5 music, work on posture!! That killed me, that's probably why some of the notes were cracking and slurs were not as long. Good song though.

The flutes in the beginning need to stagger breath and connect the measures more. Ending a slurred phrase doesn't mean it's acceptable to insert a rest, even a short one. Bar line breathing is a no-no. A high school band should know that, I'm surprised the director didn't correct it.

this song is a minefield; no joke, and of all the high school renderings i've heard of it on youtube, this one escaped with the most limbs still attached to its body, stability is still questionable though...

the bass clarinet part is so intense. does anyone know how to play low d, my band teacher said i need to play it at the beginning.

Your band teacher is stupid. Bass clarinet cannot play low D. The only way you could get it is to take the mouthpiece out by a VERY PRECISE amount. You shouldn't have to though; bass claris simply cannot play low D fingering-wise.

it really suprises me that this is a level 400 piece to compete with. We are playing it this year and I was expecting much more complexity. It reminds me too much of the witch and the saint (although it is the same composer?)

OK...Overall good performance! The ballad part should have been more emotional, and you should have bought out the diffrent sections, and various points in the song. But it was a good peice.
