  • but yea if you're saved and have a car wreck on your way to baptism, you're not going to hell, since we are justified at the point of accepting Jesus into our hearts and lives with all sincerity.Luke 18:14

I do wonder how someone can be saved and not take part in an ordinance given by Christ like baptism or communion though?

  • Also Jesus died before the thief, thats why his legs werent broken and theirs were.

  • As far as whether it should be in the name of The Father,Son,or Holy Ghost, which 1 John 5:7 says are one,or in the name of Jesus only, let us remember that the word Name in the greek(onoma)means authority, for example,"stop in the name of the law."

And its the authority given by God,Jesus,Holy Ghost that we are given to baptize in that authority/name.

    Matthew 28:18-20.

  • I dont think your faith is worth a nickel if you dont get baptized.I do see extremes on the issue. One being people or groups like the salvation army for example that dont believe baptism is for today, and the other extreme being those who thinks its saves you.Jesus saves and the baptizm(spiritual death, burial, and ressurection)is the testimony of that, unless you're getting baptized in vain, not having repented and been saved to begin with.

  • Child Baptism washes away Original sin,Obviously, infants cannot understand the change of allegiance, the putting off of the old and putting on of the new, the dying and rising, the new life, or the sharing in the life of Christ. However, the parents of those infants can understand and live those values and pass them on to their children. They can also experience the support of the community in living those ideals, and that is extremely important.

  • @kinbigbird

Show me child baptism in the Bible. Baptism is only for someone who has professed faith in Jesus and makes a decision to follow Him.

  • @firecharger Luke 18:“15 ¶ And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when [his] disciples saw [it], they rebuked them. 16 But Jesus called them [unto him], and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. 17 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.”

  • @kinbigbird

that doesn't say a word about baptism.

  • your dead on firecharger the outward display of the inward work or change to salvation

not john the baptist baptism but the baptism of the change of the holy spirit indwelling you at born again in your soul

  • Ok good to know.... I'm canceling the search party!

  • ANDY WHERE ARE YOU??? (yes I'm yelling!)

  • @kester1965

I drive a truck 5 days a week. New vid this weekend.

  • FOCUS PEOPLE!! There is only ONE WAY and his name is JESUS.

  • @firecharger i believe it was taken out because satan does not want people to know you need to be baptized to receive the holy spirit and to enter into the kingdom of GOD.

  • @firecharger Acts 2:38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. (A PASSAGE TAKEN FROM THE BIBLE)

  • @thatmikefella I get that you are trying desperately to be funny but you fail miserably. Maybe the sarchasm stems from your inability to explain how a death bed conversion can turn into a conversion/baptism. Please, please don't ever volunteer at a hospice!!!

  • @MsMatthew720 Funny? I am only confused as to how you came to that conclusion...Why am I confused? I make rebutal to your comment and state scripture, and then I'm accused of "indocrinated views" you on the other hand make wild accusations without scripture. Who's indoctrinated? Think about it and then you might think its funny, or maybe ironic, but then again its not as funny when you have to explain it.

  • @thatmikefella Your weird!

  • @thatmikefella There you go, blowing up firecharger's comments with argumentative accusations of "false doctrine". Get over yourself and your indoctrinated views. I am a born again, baptised believer in Christ but that doesn't make me any more SAVED by GRACE than the man who excepted Christ as he lay dying in his hospital bed.

  • @MsMatthew720 says who? I'v never read about the dying man in the hospital. What book is that in?

  • So then, the thief on the cross is doomed?

  • @MsMatthew720 Where does it say in the bible that the thief on the cross was not baptized? Or, does it? Or....is it that you assume that he was not baptized so that you can promote your false doctrine of faith only.? And, by the way the thief on the cross lived and died under old covenent law where baptism was not required only circumcision, under new covenent law baptisim is our circumcision read the 2nd chapter of Colossians especially the 10th, 11th and 12th versus

  • How important is baptism? Read the Gospel of John Chapters 3 and 4. Jesus said you must be born of the water and the Spirit to Nicodemus then immediately He and His disciples went out to baptize people!

  • i think its harder and harder to find a good church anymore!! this really is the end of the church age!!

  • Better to be divided in truth than to be united in error.God Bless you Andy,i have enjoyed all of your videos.

  • @hiyosilver100 Amen! And thank you for that

  • Pentecostal is a false religion btw.i watch all your vid brother so please understand i am not scoffing.i was baptized and i think its great.but not necessary for any reason at all.Our sins past present future are wiped away by the blood of the lamb.sealed by the holy spirit.

  • @MrWholeearthminerals Absolutely! The scriptures are very clear in this!

  • Baptism does nothing.its symbolic. Was the thief?no. Jesus baptised nobody.Google false doctrine, research, and stay away from religion.use king James bible only because niv is missing scriptures.baptism just gets you wet.God Bless.

  • @MrWholeearthminerals Agreed. Physical water Baptism is a good starting point of a 'new life' for those that may need such. And only as an adult making the decision. There is little point in baptising infants. Infants are not held to sin and we are told that infants will be taken in the rapture. (Yes. Recovering RC here.)

  • Firecharger, I feel like I should get baptized again as well. I was baptized catholic about 10 yrs ago but I was not born again when I did it. I do want to say to you that I have heard pastor James macdonald in 'walk in the word' who is an excellent teacher, one of the best I have evr heard say that getting baptized over and over is actually a sin...Look into it a little more before you get baptized the 3rd or 4th time brother...

  • thanks Andy, good as always, I needed to hear this one.........gordon

  • I was 12 years old by the way :)

  • Praise the Lord! If you are in question, nothin wrong with making sure and trusting in the security of Christ of it :)

  • I got saved and baptized. I never forgot it. I don't remember what was said, but what happened in my heart was real and I was changed forever :) praise the

  • Wow...wow...wow. God is so good. I cannot wait to go to church tonight and worship God for showing that to you. Ever since I started watching your vids, I wanted you to see it so bad, because its all in the bible. I am beside myself with joy. Couple of quick things...John 3 talks about spirtual and water baptism is a necessity. When you are baptized in Jesus name, the remission of sins is all the way back to Adam and Eve when they blood poisoned the entire human race, not just your sins.

  • bless*

  • hey guy my name is Gabriel can you plz pray for me and my sexual immortality thank you God blesd

  • I was sprinkled as a baby in the Methodist church and later was baptized in a Pentecost church at age 20 or so. I don't remember what he said, persay but I wish I was baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit..maybe one day I will redo it. I can understand you wanting to redo yours, however God knew YOUR heart was in the right place, and I feel He accepted your baptism..but I would redo it, since it bothers you.

  • @52lovelight I am pretty sure I was baptized in Jesus name, as that is what my sister preaches. (she's Pentecost).

  • I have now had 2 baptisms and 2 confirmations, my first was a sprinkling and my second was full water emersion baptism.

  • Baptism is the first act in obedience after one gets saved. We agree on this, what I disagree with you on is saying if you have back slid to get baptized again to wash away sin.

1John1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

  • Amen! There is no salvation i baptism... BUT THERE IS BAPTISM IN SALVATION

  • When Jesus hung on the Cross with the 2 thieves one of them professed that he believed that Jesus was Gods son. Jesus himself said that this thief would be with him in heaven. The thief was obviously not baptized on the cross. So if you say that it is required to be immersed to be with Jesus in heaven then you have to say that Jesus lied to the thief. You cannot have it both ways. His sees and knows the heart of men.

  • @Vocalist1969

I want you to consider this.... The thief died BEFORE Jesus was resurrected.

Then give me 5 good reasons NOT to get baptized.

  • @Vocalist1969 That was before Jesus died before Jesus was resurrected. He Commanded us true believers to get Baptized in water for the remission of sins than to seek the Holy Ghost Baptism.

  • error get baptised in the father, son and holy spirit you get baptised for the indwelling of the holy spirit if you do not have the spirit you can not be born and raised like jesus was by that same sirit that lifted up christ on the 3rd day so it is the holy spirit that raises you on that day. people are confused and think they are saved if they just believe no no no but if you dont follow christ after you make your confessing woe to you your a false worshiper

  • @esquire805 You don't get baptized in the father, son, and holy spirit. Acts 2:38 tells us to get baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. You do not get the Holy Spirit when you get water baptized. You get the Holy Spirit when you recieve the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and you will speak in tounges.

  • guess I should be baptised then.

    how do I get started?

  • @zackthegoth

Find a born again believer (you can tell by the "fruit" of righteousness in their life) and get baptized. It could be a Pastor, it could be a strong believer like myself. As long as they're a FOLLOWER of Jesus Christ. Stay away from the "Christians in name only" that are just as carnal as the rest of the world.

  • @zackthegoth I don't know why but only Pentecostal churches baptize in the name of Jesus Christ. Go figure. All other churches baptize in the titles...even the Assemblies of God that are very close to Pentecostals, but not quite. Go to UPCI.org and find a local pentecostal church in your area. Call the pastor and tell him you want to get baptized and he will gladly do it. He will also give a lot more details as to why that is the correct way to get water baptized. Hurry!

  • You mean an Acts 2:38 baptism? I dated this girl that was adamant that a baptism had to be in the Jesus, not "Father, Son and Holy Spirit" She was hardcore about this, but I'm thinking if the trinity is a mystery with all 3 being 1, then what's the difference in terms of the baptism?

  • @Raymond1967

I don't have a problem with the "Father, Son, Holy Ghost" because Jesus said it Himself in Matthew 28:19. My personal issue is that I wasn't baptized in the name of ANYBODY.

  • @firecharger - I'll pray you receive discernment on this issue. I can't say I understand it well enough to offer guidance. I do see the fruits you bear, and how the Holy Spirit is working through you, and feel that you are walking with the Lord. That said, I don't know if you need to be concerned over this baptism, which was a second. I was baptized as a child, so no input by me. The Spirit has not led me to redo my prior baptism. That's about all I can say about this.

  • @Raymond1967 Hey man....that girl was right. When one is baptized in the title, they are just repeating what Jesus said..quoting a scripture over someone when baptized. Read Matt 28:19 and look what it is saying to to. The scripture is saying that you should be baptized in the NAME. What is the NAME? That scripture says it is the name of the father, the name of the son and the name of the HG. JESUS. That is why Peter said to be baptized in that name. Acts ch 2,8,10 & 19 are examples.

  • @candiceevans1 I have listend to PastorDowell for a whileand every thing he preaches and teaches and preaches is the truth. Just search out what he says and you will find its the truth. Maby the reason when you ask him for resources he will be bold and say: "Go back into my Archives" 99% of the questions people ask him is in his older videos and those people will not do there on research. Find out what he says is right. As for him being arrogant? He has the Holy Spirit. He is just bold.

  • Dear Andy brother inJESUS CHRIST people can be BAPTISE ONLY ONE TIMETO GET CLEAN CLEAN SLADE that CHRIST HOLY SPIRIT that FATHER GOD WILL SEND FROM HEAVEN can START TO DWELL INSIDE NEW BORN CHRISTIAN TO TEACH & GUIDE CHRISTIAN IN ALL TRUTH TO GIVE STRENGHT to resist TEMPTETION HOLY SPIRIT WILL GUIDE PERSON TOWARD SALVATION but mainly choice that you DO WRIGHT WILL BE UP TO YOU we are not ROBOTS and we are all under TEST to the moment where DEAR HOLY GOD will decide to call us TO SELF

  • @mRwhite298 Pls tell us about those baptised babies that grow up to cheat, steal and murder. It is not baptism that saves us but our heart. Jesus will judge each individually by our heart. Small infractions will surely be noted and we will be ashamed of them but the heart leads the way to a sinful life whether one believes Jesus is the saviour or not.

  • @hiyosilver100 Please read GOSPEL OF LORD JESUS CHRIST NEW TESTAMENT with more care in JESUS CHRIST there is no CONDEMNATION it is not only that so call CHRISTIANS do evil in this world to be NEW BORN CHRISTIAN is not to be imune on temptation and sadly many CHRISTIANS choose rather world satan way than JESUS CHRIST WAY HOLY GOD YHWH DESCRIBING that human heart is desperatly wicked and deceptive above all things and evry inclination of human heart is EVIL All the time(selfish)

  • 1Peter 3:20 in the days of Noah, during the construction of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through the water.21 Corresponding to that, baptism now saves you-not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience-through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,22 who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, after angels and authorities and powers had been subjected to Him.

  • Thank you. Nice video.

  • The baby thing was done in the bible with baby dedication unto God like Hannah did. God can do amazing things in the baptism as an adult with Holy Spirit coming on you at the time of immersion. It is dying to sin in form and coming up a new man in christ.

  • AMEN! AMEN! AMEN! AMEN! I am baptised in The Name of Jesus! Puzzeling to me why Christians become so enraged with that? They pray in Jesus Name but to be baptized in Jesus Name they call herecy. 1 Peter 3:21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us

  • I am still amazed @ the way that god works. I have had baptism on my heart lately.

I am glad you made this video. I am not a member of a church it's just my bible some great Youtube videos & me. I am going to do some research on this or I'll find a church.

  • baptism doesnt cleanse you from past sins, only the blood death and ressurection can do that. not water

  • @woodowl003 1 Peter 13:21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us

  • @UnderFathersFeatherz there is no 1 peter 13:21. anyhow, i believe in your statement here it is talking about the baptism of the Holy Spirit. thats what saves, being born again

  • @woodowl003 Sorry, typo...1 Peter 3:21 Baptism, which is symbolized by that water, now saves you also

  • lol, what's with all the dislikes? Some "religious spirits" getting offended?

  • @firecharger YEP!!!! PHARISEES AND SADUCEES!

  • @firecharger Dislikes? Perhaps some disagree that baptism is a requirement to being saved as is being fed here. Read the Bible and discern for yourself and do not place full trust in any man.

  • @hiyosilver100

I clearly said I didn't believe it is a requirement for salvation but we do it out of obedience and following the examples of all the early church members including Jesus Himself.

  • @firecharger Ok. Sorry- I guess your comment about 'requirement' was not clear to me. We should follow all of the 'laws' (perhaps even baptism) even tho following them does not guarantee salvation. We do need to do WWJD to the greatest extent as humanly/reasonably possible. All will be judged by their overall life practises and sincerity of heart.

  • Amen My brother. The Jews, Gentiles and Samaritans all came the same way. God is not the author of confusion. 1 Peter 3:21.

  • In the end day's Christians have got to stop beating up other Christians and remember we are to follow Jesus lead and live like He did. Always remember W W J D... Then we can never go wrong!

  • just like that what did the book say , the end. good post , i was, but i was thinking its got to be a river for it to be right i was in a tank. is that ok ??

  • @galegregory97comcast

Doesn't matter what the water is in. Could be a river, ocean, tub, swimming pool, creek.... as long as it's immersion.

  • @firecharger Tell us about the validity of, say, Peter bringing someone to the Lord while out in the desert that has truly seen the light and believes in Jesus wholeheartedly yet there is not ONE drop of water available let alone enough for full submersion.

  • @hiyosilver100

He doesn't have to baptized right there on the spot. Where there's a will, there's a way. If that new convert wanted to follow the Word of God, he would eventually find a way to get baptized.

  • @firecharger A way? Maybe. What if the new 'almost convert' dies suddenly before he reaches water? Saved? Not saved?

  • @hiyosilver100

I would say "saved," but that doesn't mean they ignore getting baptized.

  • wow you are just speaking to me today..I have been praying for boldness....I want to get baptised again with my husband....he doesnt know this yet...he is taking a nap.

  • I got baptized when I was 13...maybe I should do it again? I love Jesus with all my heart...been a Christain since I was 5. I have known is God Jesus and the Holy Spirit...but by all means I am not perfect I have sinned. Thank you Jesus for dieing for me. I know I have the Holy Spirit in me...but the Holy Spirit has a still small vioce. I don't know if I have been Sprit filled though ...I think it's because He has been such a norm all my life..I have a hard time seeing why people don't believe.

  • Biblical baptism is for believers and not babies! I had a similar expereince to you; Methodist "dedication"&full submersion later in life.

Dedications are not a bad idea though (until a child reaches the age of accountability) for parents to dedicate their child to the Lord out of obedience. "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved--you and your household." Act 16:31 I would want my baby covered in every way possible, if I had one; that said, agreed its not biblical baptism.

  • @weddingsuper2011 Birth pangs.this is just the beginning it will intensify the closer we get to the return of our Lord Yeshua.

  • Well said Andy. The only thing you did not mention about it is it's also an outward expression of faith.

  • @ProudPatriotPapa

    13:48

    God bless ya brother!

  • @firecharger My bad..the YHWH bless and keep ya.

  • @ProudPatriotPapa where do you find that scripture at?

  • @angiebahmad In the olivet discourse the analogy( birth pangs or travail upon a women{ sorrows is used in KJV}) is used.and in Revelation 12:2 .Matthew 24:8 Mark 13:8.Birth pangs first then the wrath of Satan on the Church and the Jews then the wrath of YHWH on the world that follows Satan.

  • @ProudPatriotPapa You said outward faith, this is a different subject. ~;0)

  • @ProudPatriotPapa But people like to say "outward sign of an inward grace" But that is not scriptural.

  • @angiebahmad Think we got wires crossed..my reference was to the birth pangs before/during the Tribulation period.

  • This is a convicting message, Andy. I need to get dunked correctly. I got sprinkled in a catholic church when I was a baby and I have the Holy Ghost but I never went under the water. I have to think about how, who and where to go about this.

I really love your videos, Andy. You do a fantastic job of putting them together. I pray they are blessed and that they reach thousands of people who need to hear the messages. God bless, brother!

  • @eternalrhythmflow

Pray about it. At least you have that nice California weather... you can do it outside!

  • @weddingsuper2011 You've got a great YT handle! God bless!

  • @MyMosli

Amen! Like I said in the video. You just need another born again believer.... I don't see anything in the bible that says you have to get baptized at a mega church in front of dozens or more people...

  • @firecharger That's a straight-up point, Andy.

  • Amen brother it's all about loving God and each other. May Jesus Bless You!

  • Check out PastorDowell's teaching

    /watch?v=OMN8levNobo&feature=channel_video_title

  • Must be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins.

  • @JasionJones "Must be"? Pls provide the Bible reference that says we 'must be baptized'.

The thief on the cross was not baptized. It may be a good thing to do for some but baptism is not required to be 'saved'.

  • @hiyosilver100 Sorry but the Theif was under the Old Covenant. Read Acts Chapter 2. The Church was not born yet till Pentecost when the Spirirt had fully come! Anything before that day was under the Law. ~;0)

  • @angiebahmad Thanks for both comments. But Gentiles were never under 'The Covenant' and we are told that we are not saved by 'the law'. To sin against ONE law is to sin against all and all men are sinners. Circumcision was addressed in the same way. We are told that the only 'requirement' to be saved is to call on the name of Jesus. Baptism may be nice to do for some but it is not a requirement. Mark 16:16 does not say that those not baptised will be damned. Not Believe & yet baptised=notsaved.

  • @hiyosilver100 Belief is the first step. You see those people were the Jews who practiced the same law as Moses. The apostles have to try to convince them that there is a better way! Without belief & faith you can't be saved! If belief only then the demons are ok because they believe and tremble. And yes we are under the New Covenant. Read about Jesus when they were in the upper room and they were taking communion! It is required 2 fulfill all righteousness! Jesus said it. That settles it!

  • @angiebahmad Sorry. Belief is the only step. Romans 10:9, 10:13, Titus 3:5, Luke 18:42, Acts 2:21, 15:11, 16:31 and more. To Believe in Jesus implies Faith also in Him. To Believe in Jesus implies doing WWJD to the greatest extent possible as we are merely humans and not angels.

Along with Belief goes living as righteously as possible. Satan 'Believes' in Jesus-yes. We are told that some that profess to follow Jesus will not be recognized. We will be judged by our heart and overall life we live.

  • @hiyosilver100 you are wrong but it does no good to argue about it! I've done my part. You have to search out your own salvation with fear and trembling! I was in your shoes once but the Lord leadme to the truth. You should really pray about it and seek answers from God. google how many scriptures there are on baptism. You will be shocked!

  • @hiyosilver100 Acts 2:38 Mark 16;16 1Peter 3:20 There are so many! Let me know if you want more!

  • @angiebahmad The words spoken by Jesus refute any other reference to baptism.Nowhere are we told that baptism is a requirement of gaining Heaven. The scripture that all men are sinners tells us that all taken in the rapture will be sinners to a degree.Believers=Yes / Sinners=Yes. Or there will be no one in the rapture, eh? 1 Peter 3:20 is nebulous at best and does not tell us that baptism is required. 8 souls saved by water? Well, yes they were. Saved from the world/nephilim by the flood.
