  • hey thats a very nice custom work men? i'd like to ask u how much it cost to download the program and do the games come with the program?

  • Very, very nice!

  • Nice machine! I like your intro vid :)

    Dream Home Arcades

  • tks!!!

  • hey delusional im building a bartop arcade with my nes any advice you can give me

  • hi very good congratulations! you can tell me where I can download that interface ?

  • @videyllos Go to Maximus Arcade . com and go to the theme/skins section. Free to download.

  • nice!!!! i mean, it is wonderfull!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hey delusinal what mame emulator are you using and what version is it???

  • @ChrisGomez6400 MAME32 .119

  • Were you able to get lynx in full screen mode? All I can get it is with a black border in kind of full screen mode, but about half the size of the screen.

  • How much would something like this cost to have built for me? I have very high mechanical skills but I am unsure about my electronics and programming prowess. i'm afraid I don't even have the vocabulary to ask an intelligent question about the emulators used, but I love all video games.

  • Hi, nice setup.. I'm setting up an arcade to run on an AstroCity2 with arcadeVGA. How did you configure vertical games for MAME? I followed Ultimarc's instructions with the resolution tool and managed to get everything working except all vertical games appear at about half the proper width in the middle of the screen. When I rotate them they display perfectly, but that's not much help since my monitor isn't sitting vertically. Any reply appreciated, thanks.

  • The front end startup was superb. It was like the arcade machine came alive and turned itself on.

The sounds when going from left to right through the emulators was a bit harsh. A nice soft swooping sounds would be better (in my opinion).

Looks great though, great credit to you!

  • I think it's the way I shot the video. The swooping sound does sound harsh on the video. But in person it's perfect.

  • @delusional2971 when you install maximus arcade can u put catagories to catogorize the game systems?

  • @kingscross30 No there are not categories for the game systems, but you can put them in any order you like....So when scrolling through the systems, you can group all you Nintendo systems, Sega, Sony etc... together. So you might go Nintendo, Gameboy, SNES OR Gameboy, NES, SNES...However you like. But to save time, there is a popup menu you can use to scroll through all the systems, and it's lightning fast.

You can, however, make categories, and favorites lists for games in a particular system

  • Did you get the Atari Lynx emulator running in full screen properly? I havent found a way to do this in Maximus Arcade.

  • Ok one question. I have an itouch but formatted to mac. My Maximus arcade runs on a pc. N my arcade uses iTunes as the mp3 jukebox. My question is does my itouch have to be formatted to pc n if firmattted to pc does it control the iTunes features. Or is this only possible fir mac. Thanks for ur time.

  • Great question. I'll have to try it when I get home. My itouch is PC formatted, but I will try it on my Mac I just bought. I'll get back to you on this. I'm assuming if it works that it should theoretically work the other way around.

  • I can't seem to change the .mp3 sounds when scrolling the emulators I used the theme editor put the sounds in the cache folder boot up Maximus and it loads all the default sounds (up, down, select, back). Please help. I purchased Maximus and am not using the trial if that gets you to reply sooner.

  • If you can't get the theme editor to work, there is another way to do it. Simply take an existing theme/skin and unzip it. Then replace the sounds you want with the ones that are already there. Just make sure the filenames match exactly. Then zip it back up.

  • How do you get rid of the default arcade machine picture in the game list"screen and customize it or just leave a screen with no border I opened up my skin zip file and erased the cabinet and border file in the interface folder and it automatically replaces it with a no screenshot label in real big white lettering. I then tried to replace the photos and renamed it the same as old PNG and JPEG file, but the picture has a white box around it and interferes with my custom background. Help

  • PM sent.

  • It works both ways: Formatted for Mac - works on PC. Formatted for PC - Works on Mac. Tested for both.

  • Just want to say thanks for all your help. Every question that I have asked has been responded to. Thanks man keep up the goodwork.

  • No problem. I live for this stuff.

  • Does anyone know if I can use iTunes as a jukebox within maxmius arcade. N I if I can how do i go about it. Do I pick tge option for mp3 jukebox. Please help. Thanks.

  • Yes you can. That's exactly how you do it.

  • I joined the forum. My username on there is icka but they havent accepted my request yet. Thanks for the help :-D

  • hey, your machine looks great, is there anyway you could help me troubleshoot what's wrong with mine?

  • Yeah sure. But you really should join the forums (message board) over at arcadecontrols . com. Post something there and then send me the link. Then not only can I help you, but hundreds of others can too. That forum is awesome and it's where I learned everything that I know. My username there is delusional29.

  • hey delusional i had this wicked idea of a coinslot idea you have your coinslot but have a light in the coinslot that picks up fingers when you touch it and then wire it to insert coin and itl work as a invisible coin

  • I have something similar on my vertical cabinet I just built (I will be posting a video of it soon to this Youtube account).

They are lit pushbuttons that you can get at groovygamegear . com. But I modified them to suit my needs :)

    Stay tuned!

  • sell me 1

  • If you are in the NY, NJ, CT area I will. I have other arcades I have built as well.

  • how did you get the daphne and roms emulators thing?

  • I'm just running the Daphne emulator. I own the DVD-ROMS for those games (Digital Leisure . com). Daphne does a check to see if you have the DVD's when it first installs, then it runs from the hard drive once the files are downloaded.

  • that's F***** cool. I'm in the process of finishing the control panel for the arcade. It's simple but It's my first project.

  • Good luck with your build. And PS... You're NEVER finished. LOL.

  • Hey Delusional, what monitor are you using? I was trying to find your project thread on BYOAC, but couldn't find it.

  • I am using a Betson 27" Multisync arcade monitor.

  • If this thing loads up to desktop there are ways to hind the icons.

and i'm sure you can hide the bin (just unaline from grid then put it behind something or as far to the edge as possible)

  • There is an option in windows to hide all icons on the desktop. It's in the desktop properties.

I installed my XP Pro using Nlite, which strips down certain functions. I removed the icon for the recycle bin. The recycle bin only appears in My Computer. :-)

  • Handy bit of info for me there i must say thank you because i plan to start my bartop project soon but i have no idea what to do/how to do it :(

  • Check out my other videos on how to wire a control panel. It will help.

  • Thank you very much i'll sub to you so i know i can view them XD

  • Do you care to share your old intro (the one in this video) with the public, since a lot of people (including me) use your Maximus Arcade theme.

    Cheers!

  • At this time, I am not releasing this video to the public.

However, I have given some thought to releasing a generic MAME version... or perhaps a Maximus Arcade version (blue lightning theme).

  • your machine is really good men

  • do you know any good sites to get high quality opening videos for my MA cabinet?

    thaks

  • Did you use instant sheller? Or the method on MA's forum? It was impressive to see it start from black, straight to MA... of course I dunno if you just started recording after loading MA :)

  • I haven't used instant sheller yet. But I plan to. For now, I used the method described on MA's forum. I also replaced the "Windows" graphic at the beginning with a black graphic. So it's actually there, but gives the illusion that it's in black while loading. The background of my desktop pops up for a few seconds, but it's set to my "Ultra Arcade" background (same as the intro graphic look). So it's all uniform. :-)

  • Simply AWESOME.... very remarkable arcade machine, you give me nice ideas to finish up mine.

  • That's my goal. To inspire others to build their own in this fantastic hobby. :-)

  • how much it costs 2 build that cause i might want 2 build one

  • The cost ranges. It depends what customization you do to and how authentic you want it to be. Try checking out the BYOAC forums. (Build Your Own Arcade Controls forums). You can take a look around and ask questions.

    Good Luck!

  • what program did you use to create your custom intro .avi ?

  • Adobe's Aftereffects and Sony's Vegas Video. It was done from scratch.

  • What front end is that?

  • Maximus Arcade

  • i love how you played altered beast

  • Great arcade man, really. i just started makeing my own and i hope it comes out as cool as yours but i have i huggeee question. you run it with maximus arcade and i just purchased it but i have i big problem. i have Mame32k but i cant seen to get it to work with maximus. which version did you use. please help!!!!!! you are an inpiration.

  • Thanks for the comments! I use the command line version of Mame (MAME32 .119).

  • Wow man, thanks for the quick response. I just downloaded the version you have and it works like a charm, thanks a lot, will post my arcade when done building!!! 1 more question, do you use an mp3 jukebox, if so what is your version called. thanks again!!!

  • I am not really running a jukebox on my cab at the moment, although I am tinkering with a program called "Touchtone Audio System" which uses Winamp as it's player. Looks promising and I may install it soon.

  • Freaking insane. You inspired me. I'll have to look around for some kind of guides from you on how you did this - I thought it was amazing, and THEN I saw the glowing trackball and I lost it! Great job.

  • Thanks! I have tweaked it a bit since this video. It pulsates now. See the Video Response above (Future Pinball demo)

  • i know a fair bit bout using a pc but i could not work out how to use mala, i recommend maximus arcade looks awsome, anyone could set this thing up just select the .exe and rom folder and thats about it

  • How hard is it to configure Maximus Arcade? Is it easier than Mala?

  • Looks really nice. You truly have skill :) btw, where did you get that sound of arcade machines played while choosing a machine? Been looking for something similar some time now :( Would love if you could share or help me find one :)

  • The sounds are available courtesy of "Ahofle" from BYOAC. Just type in "arcade ambience project" in google and you'll see it. Downloads are free. Enjoy!

  • NICE VIDEO AND ARCADE MACHINE.

  • WERE CAN I GET ULTRA ARCADE THING

  • what are the specs for the computer?

  • Nothing to expensive, but fast enough for CHD based games like Killer Instinct and Street Fighter III.

    AMD 4200+ X2 (dual core)

    2 GB RAM

    160 GB PATA HDD (IDE)

    MAME ver .119

(found a steal of a deal online for under $200 including case.)

  • Hey dude. Your cabinet is totally awesome!

Just wondering have you released your plans anywhere for the woodworking and controller dimensions and wiring??

Keep up the good work. :)

  • that is really really awsome

  • do you know if it is possible to open CHDs on maximus

  • Yes, it is, through MAME of course. Anything that MAME can do MA can do since it's only a front end for MAME itself.

  • how you add the water effect in maximus arcade

  • It's under the "Preferences"(ctrl+P)-"Options" tab-"Transitions" dropdown. Transition is called "Ripple".

  • what is batch files?

  • Batch files are PC games that you write a batch file for (or shortcut pointing to the game). This allows you to run everything through the front end instead of exiting into Windows.

  • To clarify: "But not that good" = my machines are not that good.

    Whatev, later

  • Man thats so weak dude..........

    lol, just kidding

Nice machine, I ve made of few of those myself & they get better every time.

    But not that good

  • can you tell me how you got Geometry Wars to work from the commandline? and also do you have a website or anything?

  • I have a special "stand-a-lone" version of the program that does not use Steam or MSN games, etc. You simply double-click on the .exe file and it runs. Perfect for Arcades.

Please note: I purchased it for $3.95 on Steam (so I own the original unhacked version, as I do not condone piracy). I would suggest you do the same if you do not already own it before using the hacked version.

  • How the heck you get that front-end menu? That is pure awesome. Help me out soldier!

  • How did you disable the import progress bar when Maximus Arcade boots?

  • There is an option in the new Maximus Arcade 2.10 beta r2 that allows you to disable the "show import splash screen" option. It's located in the options tab in preferences. Simply uncheck the box. Versions of Maximus Arcade before that do not have that option (2.09 and below). Feel free to join the forums at the website for more info. Hope this helped.

  • The new Maximus Arcade version is awesome! I'm so glad I saw this video--my MAME cabinet now looks like an arcade machine rather than a computer in a cabinet. Thanks!

  • You can also download the skin shown in this video at the Maximus Arcade website. It's now posted in the skins section.

  • do u have to let daphne download stuff on the net it always want to do that when i turn it on is that correct

  • I personally do not use the latest version. I do not have my arcade connected to the internet so I cannot update the program. It's too much of a hassle and Maximus Arcade does not like it too much with the error messages that pop up because I am not connected.

  • how do u config daphne is too hard

  • The Daphne laserdisc emulator is very easy to configure in Maximus Arcade.

However, it is a little tricky to configure Daphne by itself. But once you have it set up and Daphne is working independently correctly, it is very easy to configure it in the Front End (Maximus Arcade).
