i rly rly want to make manga comics, but i cant draw anything besides the faces. the clothes look rly horrible, and their arms look like sticks. i need help. any one got any tips?
@TheAxelProject Take drawing classes, even if they are not oriented to "manga" they teach you the basics in drawing and give you the upperhand in structure to those who might be able to draw in a certain "manga style" but dont really have any theory behind it. Then you can apply the knowledge to create comic books and sequential art (manga included). Study the narration in different manga, from katsuhiro otomo to eiichiro oda and watch mark crilleys videos, they might help you.
@TheAxelProject if you can't go to a drawing school, you should watch mark crilley videos, but you should also read a lot of manga(no shit, you can't make a comic/manga if you havn't even read one) also study anatomy it helped me too. right now i am good at drawing the human body but i am developing my art style(i recommend that, many art teachers look down on manga because many people don't even come up with a signature art style) also you should be able to draw backgrounds

Because I am currently making a comic seires of mine called, "KIME", and it's about a team going through various missions and about...bad life stuff. I do it on a spiral notebook 70 pages, but how do you get the book thing?

Ive been in the comic feild for about 4 years and being honest is the best way to grow as an artest,i say this you have talent and keep on working on figure drawing,its one thing many young artest forget is learning from real life and practice always.cuz if u were to take this to a con for pros to see they would be way more harsh belive me it hurts but u take that and build ur skill from it to get better.

@LumiroCanis Thanks a lot man! I made this with pencil. I draw lightly then I darken after with pencil. No smudging! On my newer stuff I'm working with pen though

Dude I remember my high school days on your drawings, I use to draw like like that also but thank god because of my passion for drawing I've kinda level up, but my story telling still sucks hehehehe... Anyway keep it up.

Take some classes man, you really need to learn the human body and it's structure. Just because manga and anime is cartoony doesn't mean that it's not somewhat realistic. You probably have great ideas but your drawing skills don't show them off well. Classes aren't expensive I take one every week for figure drawing for $5 a session and now I'm in one of the top art schools in the country.

@Hiiiqt listen Im in the "artworld" I go to art school. The best criticism I could ever get is the truth even if it's painful to hear, an artist must evolve and that is all i'm telling him to do. I'm not bringing him down and if you think lying helps artists you are dead wrong my friend. That is the difference between art as a career and a hobby, one can take criticism and learn from it the other is in denial. I'm also not telling him to be perfect... it's not possible, but to try harder.
Im just wondering what class do you suggest..because I want to take some but i dont know what are the really good classes.. Like what are key points I should look for when choosing one?... If you could answer that, it would help..
@H3H34NIM3 Take figure drawing, study real objects, draw outside, draw your friends, draw random people in the streets, find any drawing class, draw your hand, grab a mirror and draw your face, draw, draw, draw. Point I'm trying to make is just to draw every day even if it doesn't look that good at first and eventually your skill will improve in speed and proportion. It's just a matter of time and patience...on your part.
use a computer is a bad suggestion. im 14 and all i use is a mechnical pencil and my drawing comes out professional. Good job bruh. Practice makes perfect keep going

Just being honest. And "comps don't make manga look better"... tell me there is absolutely no difference between coloring with pencils and coloring with Photoshop. Different tools, different effects...
@Gojirobe there's no difference between comp and actually doing it but saying sum1 should put it on a comp and edit it to make it look good is not true, u can do it traditionally, and when i say REAL MANGAKA im saying the ones that make their manga like the first mangakas did, traditionally, u can be a mangaka with using a comp and i would respect u for that but i have more respect the ones who do it traditionally because it shows the true skill someone has when they do it on hand than on comp

@H3H34NIM3 Take figure drawing, study real objects, draw outside, draw your friends, draw random people in the streets, find any drawing class, draw your hand, grab a mirror and draw your face, draw, draw, draw. Point I'm trying to make is just to draw every day even if it doesn't look that good at first and eventually your skill will improve in speed and proportion. It's just a matter of time and patience...on your part.

use a computer is a bad suggestion. im 14 and all i use is a mechnical pencil and my drawing comes out professional. Good job bruh. Practice makes perfect keep going

@Gojirobe yh but thats the lazy way to do things, and he doesnt need to scan and edit it to look like the "real deal", its perfect the way it is, ppl are so reliant on comps to make their manga "look good" that it makes no sence, comps dont make manga look better, its the hand and the mind of the artist that does

@AyumuChika "REAL mangakas don't do thier manga on the PC" (although I believe this is debatable, but not here) because most of them DON'T NEED TO, which is not the case with the uploader. Just being honest. And "comps don't make manga look better"... tell me there is absolutely no difference between coloring with pencils and coloring with Photoshop. Different tools, different effects...

@Gojirobe there's no difference between comp and actually doing it but saying sum1 should put it on a comp and edit it to make it look good is not true, u can do it traditionally, and when i say REAL MANGAKA im saying the ones that make their manga like the first mangakas did, traditionally, u can be a mangaka with using a comp and i would respect u for that but i have more respect the ones who do it traditionally because it shows the true skill someone has when they do it on hand than on comp

1st mangas are drawn with the Japanese way which is backwards
2nd mangas are drawn in papers, scanned in a pc and then putted together
3d you must ink the pictures after drawing them with a pencil
4th you drawing suck I don't know if it's better now but it sucks
