I thinks the show was absolutely perfect until season 8 when jack was no longer memeber of sg-1. season 9 and 10 were different, not bad but not that stargate most people liked and loved. it's sad that this show ended but rather an ending after season 10 than a boring season 11 and a loss of fans.

Ah, the days when Stargate was good.

I miss SG1 and Atlantis.

Now we've got Universe, which is more like Eastenders, or Coronation Street than Stargate. Rush and Eli are the only characters that don't piss me off.

SGU isn't sci-fi, it's a soap opera.

well not keep on and on of course, that much i agree, but they could do like i often see they do in japan with anime anyway. They could create an ending for the show, make it have a destination. Everyone hates goodbyes, especially to their favorite show (this is my fav too) but i think it would be much better if they actually had an ending rather than waiting for the ratings to drop (or actors dropping of) before deciding on just making a makeshift ending.

As for the main cast... its tough to say. Michael Shanks is the best actor in my opinion.

Well they where all good, but i think i'd have a hard time deciding between amanda and michael. To me those two did seem to put more of themselves into the show, amanda shows it also in her own show sanctuary

SG-A = stargate atlantis

SG-U = stargate universe which is the follow-up on Atlantis but more of an independent show (and totally different from SG1 and SGA) just based on the tech sort of. you got some repeat castings (O'l Jack pops up every now and then) but only when the situation calls for it, its mostly about the new members (which i think is actually a pretty good mix and are doing one hell of a good job following in some hard to fill shoes)

@helgoland82 wrong, Hammond was better. It went downhill from the end of season 5. Cameron sucked, Vala sucked, Jonas sucked and Hank sucked all lame characters that have nothing on the original SG1 team. O'Neill, Sam, Daniel and Teal'c all the way!!

everybody from the show played theyr roles very well, especialy jack,sam and teal'c; jonas and dr fraiser did a good job too,unfortunately jonas was not present in the show as much as main chars, general landry was ok but hammond was way better in my oppinion, daniel was cool and suffered some big changes from season 1 to 10, vala and mitchel,well,the farscape guys are nice,vala is funny and mitchel is almost like jhon crichton, i am 80% for sg-1, 10% for SG-A,and 10% for upcomming SG-U

I saw SG 1's first movie until it became a series... I never missed an episode, I even got a fight with my brother just to watch it. I miss it alot...
