You pretty much kept a pro-Southland Tales attitude through the whole thing instead of objective. I had really high hopes of the movie and it smashed all of them. I am hoping Richard can rebound well from it, but your pros are much more than the cons. I'm glad you dug it, but it was extremely painful for me to watch...
I enjoyed the film and I thought it was a superb near-asterpice - hence my lack of negatives about the film- even professional critics have review that are glowing with not much against the movie - I still think my video's a review - it described the movie accurately (IMO), it explained what I like about it, ways that it is good. In any case, thanks for the comment. When a movie has such a strong line between is lovers and haters, it's fascinating regardless of who you are, I think.

And besides, the movie WAS panned straight to hell in any case. I've seen it twice now, and it, however labyrinthine, does make perfect sense. It just takes work to wade through. Just like the world we live in.

I liked your review. i just watched this movie yesterday and it really surprised me. I didn't realize it was by Richard Kelly, however, I'd heard of the film because I'm an avid wrestling fan and follow The Rock's career. I'll be picking this film up on DVD this week to add to the collection. What great performances from the entire cast. I'm sure this will catch on in the same way Donnie Darko did.
Like what your doing. Its good training no? Just a few things you might want to take note of. Firstly if yor talking to us through a camera, learn your review first so you can look into the camera and from that us the audience in the eye. secondly try to add a bit more of your personality and dont reel off every point as though you just read it from a film text book or another persons magazine. Also maybe cut it down by a few minutes. Dont mean to sound patronising, cause i think your good.

ok, that was just an incredible review. i love how you pick the whole movie apart and find ways to defend it. once again, VERY intelligent review, i don't care if you do have a lisp, you know your shit. and yes, southland tales is absolutely amazing, and i didnt even like it the first time around. that's with out a dount the first time i have ever digested so much from a motion picture. i give it a 9/10 as well.
It just seems silly for someone who is not bound by an imperfection such as lisp to have it in videos. It detracts from the message in your reviews. Plus no offense it sounds like you type your reviews out then recite them. That is very annoying. Cuz your stuck between acting like it's genuine when its written.
