You still need to throw the ball well enough to back people out of nine and ten man fronts. Jack Mildren was able to do that by dint of inheritance having been a passing QB previously and the Bear Bryant devised a passing game actually keyed to the wishbone and nobody ever figured out a way to stop that. The tide won two national titles in those final years before Bryant died. That to my thinking was ultimate football.
my 8th grade team runs the wishbone and we are AMAZING at it. u only need 2 things for this offense 1: speed and good rbs 2: getting blocks on the outside
Wow so i know '12 is out but i dont have it yet. Theres a play in the wishbone called FB option where the qb either gives to the FB or runs. Its much like the midline qb iso play under flexbone. Do you know what the read is because i think the de's are blocked
Where are all the fakes? Normal run plays? Show me how to run the Wishbone WITHOUT option runs? (I was able to do this on PS2 and average 50+ points a game on all-madden WITH the CPU bars adjusted to 99 for their offense and defensive awareness just to make the games competitive)
@AWBridgers I guess I was looking for more of a wing-T theme with handoffs as opposed to just running option. Even Georgia Tech has counters and handoffs that are effective, some even more than option runs.
hey everybody!! my dad has run the wishbone all his coaching career (8 yrs) and he might run the flexbone or power i and possibly spread which offense should he run?? and the wishbone has worked perfectly for him
i don't know if still go on your account but first the legit team that does this is navy and not texas bruh. but the only legit team to run it is navy and thats that every one else does a spread as of you your running run and gun and surely can't run it as good yet your technique for doing it is bad just to say and georgia can't run it i will be posting vids on formations and walk you through them
@physicsxx he was saying that Texas was the first collegiate team to use the wishbone offense. He wasn't saying that this is a popular offense used in the modern football era. Obviously the majority of teams nowadays use the spread. That wasn't his point.
i used to do this a lot in ncaa 08. put darren mcfadden as qb he can throw too and have peyton hillis as the power back and felix jones as the speed back unstoppable. georgia tech is a pretty good wishbone offense too
Thanks very much for making this video. I enjoy running the Georgia Tech flexbone and I have been having some trouble setting up blocks, and this should help me choose some smarter plays!
@Jroget30 its not cheap i run it in my od some people just cant stop it i run it to perfection with year 16 florida and i still lose games all the time
what playbook is the best for running the option on xbox live? Also when your oppositions goes 4-6 or 4-4 but your qb sucks at throwing what plays should you run. I play as wake forest bcuz im a wake fan but i usually switch the playbook around. Do you have any videos of you running the option on live?

you should have handed it off at 1:42 it looks like the fullback would've gone a long way.

@URpoopstinks2 and at 3:08. it looks like he would've scored.

Which playbook do you recommend for this?
Ive been using the Multiple playbook because it has one Wishbone formation, are the other variations of the Wishbone better in other playbooks?
ToothSIayer 1 year ago
@ToothSIayer
Option run has all three wishbone forms. Wake forest has one too I think. WF is a very balanced PB...

I'll give their book a try
I hope in NCAA 12, they give us the option to create playbooks.

The wishbone is a glitch online it's a cheap way to get a win only a bum would use it!
Jroget30 1 year ago
@Jroget30
Is it bad online? I do not play online so I do not know how it goes. I did the video as a request not as something I actually run.

is there a specific reason you didnt ever go wishbone tight? Is it because that formation sucks or was it just preference?
