  • insidepoolmag, fire this guy.. PLEASE

  • he also talks like that even in tagalog.... of course he don't have teeth.... thats why he also called "bata" or "kid" in english.....

  • Man I don't see how people can ever hate efren unless he takes the shot at the title away from you lol.

  • efren always smile.. as if he's not serious in playing hahaha..BEST POOL PLAYER EVER!!made in the philippines :D

  • he speaks good english. Whta's the matter with you guys?

  • worst interviewer ever

  • he should let his pool playing do the talking

  • wrong he is the Magic johnson of billiards

  • @SpeckleDork26: More actually hahaha

  • haha di ko naintindihan sinasabi nya!!! anyway bata the best!!

  • He is one of the most humble player in any sporting event. Anyone who's trash talking on Efren, please go to Hell.

  • this flip has balls ...9 balls & 15 balls

  • Efren is a great player but I believe Willie Mosconi, with 15 World Straight Pool titles and a 526 straight pool run, is the G.O.A.T.

  • @notbestfriends Most pro pool players in the world today rank Efren as the best all around player to ever live. There's no disputing that Mosconi was perhaps the greatest 14.1 player, but he was one dimensional. Efren plays everything at championship level including 14.1. Most professionals today rank one-pocket as the most skillful game on a pool table, not 14.1, and Efren is widely regarded as the best 1-pocket player ever. So what, exactly, are you basing your opinion on? Just curious.

  • @bird80

My opinion is based on what I already posted. Additionally, straight pool was the most popular game during Mosconi's era. Who knows how he would have done with the other games.

  • @notbestfriends If you know about Mosconi, you know he treated games other than 14.1 with disdain. He thought "lesser" games involved too much luck. He knew little about 1-pocket, bank pool, etc. Nor did he care to learn. Mosconi was a 14.1 specialist. It doesn't make sense to lable him the greatest pool player of all time when he only played ONE pool game, reguardless of how many titles he won. Greatest 14.1 player ever makes much more sense. Efren is the G.O.A.T. (my opinion)

  • @bird80

I'll go along with what you said. I've played 14.1, 8 ball & Chicago and IMO 14.1 is the most difficult. There is no luck involved. I never played 1 pocket. Perhaps 3 cushion billiards is the most difficult. I believe the high run in that is around twenty something, done by Willie Hoppe. That & Mosconi's 526 run are mind blowing.

  • @notbestfriends Of those 3 games I agree with you, 14.1 is the toughest. Personally, I believe 1-pocket is harder. World class 1-pocket players have many different tools at their disposal. The shot making and position play of rotation games, bank pool knowledge, 14.1 knowledge, and knowledge of 3-cushion billiard systems are a must. I think Hoppe's record run was 25 but I believe Sayginer now holds it at 31. And I agree that Willie's 526 as well as Hoppe's and Sayginer's runs are mind blowing.

  • @bird80

I'm going to look into 1 pocket and play some. Fortunately at the condo complex I'm in we have a table so I can play when I want.

Happy shooting and to quote Mosconi "stroke, don't poke"

  • @notbestfriends Misconie himself is the best at 14.1 but he cant be labeled as GOAT if he only plays one kind of ball game. Efren on the other hand plays various types of pool games.. won a lot of championship and achieved so many goals. In my opinion I'd say Efren is the GOAT. Dont get me wrong Im not putting down Misconie. Its just like Basketball you CANT be MVP if all u do is shoot 3 pts.

  • @katasinEX

I appreciate your comments. My opinion is also the result of my assumption that 14.1 is the toughest of all pool games.

  • LOL! I cant stop laughing.. im filipino myself.. his accent is very strong.. this guy rocks!

  • Efren is the best one pocket player ever!! This is my strongest game, too. I always look forward to him coming to the US and practicing at Hardtimes in Bellflower CA. HT's caters to the serious pool player and has the best 10 Brunswick tables in their tournament room with bleacher seating. These tables are set up with extra tight pockets. Efren throws down 15 balls on table 6 and runs them effortlessly in sequence for practice. He attracts many pool hustlers who gamble & lose to him.

  • it is not an english declamation contest=)! if it is, better to call a nursery level english cue player lol! he been interviewed because HE IS A WORLD GREATEST POOL PLAYER! take note "WORLD"! lol you can criticize him but you cannot level the praise and respect earned by this great man praise & respect that came from well known people in the world, go BATA!

  • he speaks good english for someone that didn't speak english as his native language, plus he only spent time in America for short periods of time. its not really that he's bad at english, but the accent is difficult to understand. his words are so wise though that i would replay this 10 times to understand everything.

  • lasing ata to.

  • @SpeckleDork26

Michael Jordan is like the Efren Reyes of basketball. ; )

  • Billiards in the Philippines is being played by ordinary people,it is a very common game where in dropouts from high school and all the standbys will just spend their time just to make it a day. Not like in other countries where in you need to be a member of a club to play this game...meaning in the Philippines,it is just a street game, every corners they have so tons of players and really very good at that are coming out poping like mushrooms.

  • @LanderskieChannel yessir you are right! I happen to be one of them :P well used to :)

  • @LanderskieChannel Yea, pretty much like how America produces so many great athletes because organized team sports is so easily accessible here.

  • @SpeckleDork26 wrong, Michael is like the Efren Reyes of basketball!!!lolz

  • ur fuckin interruprt 33 well its not about the language u said atleat filipino it trying hard compare to other countries... They need interpreter... lol

  • Efren being as great as he is, is still very humble. Can't help but admire a guy like that. Truly the best pool player ever and a great person as well.

  • Reyes is a fine player, but Mosconi, with a 526 straight pool run & 15 World Titles makes him unquestionably the G.O.A.T.

  • @notbestfriends That means nothing. How good were his competition? I doubt if they're better than in the 90s. And how many countries were joining those competitions? Probably very few.

  • @Anduril919

The ability to run 526 and win 15 World titles is nothing? Please!

No competition? He competed against Carras, Crane, Lassiter, Ponzi, Rudolph and Greenleaf.

Do some research before you post.

  • Filipinos are great pool players.. I miss the game of 9ball..

  • Efren ROCKS!

  • Efren's English isn't bad. He puts too much english it's broken

  • am a Filipino myself. I can barely understand the words coming out of his mouth.lol. so yeah, it's not really much about his ENGLISH, it is how good he can play pool.

  • i love this guy best player ever

  • how do i find out when & where he is playing?? I would LOVE to watch him in person!

  • He is the nicest person ever!

When he came to Bangkok he was sooo modest.

  • but i think when speaking english efren is much better than manny pacquiao, he can express what he wants to say with little effort..

    although bit funny sometimes.

but who cares anyway he is the greatest pool player..

  • damn! he's so confident! no doubt the greatest.

  • " simply the best no doubt"

  • a simple man, very down to earth. and no fancy talk

  • efren making the prediction about mika. good call

  • man this guy has such a great way about him. i wish he was my uncle.

  • yeah his the god of pool. 1970-2009 until now he is the king..real talent! almost 40 years..thats the real world record

  • Gotta love this guy, my favourite player of all time! Go Efren!

  • i love this guy, so carefree, confident, laxed, it's like he's partyign all the time.

  • kung may pacquiao sa boxing..then may efren reyes tayo sa billiard!

  • napakasimpleng tao..pero ambangis sa lamesa.

  • ive heard that story first hand from robert who was there at when efren beat the best in the houston open at red's... he won that tournament and buddy hall was there..

story goes like this- buddy and effie to play for big bucks ten ball after tournament-.. buddy went to sleep the backroom per robert and shortly before 4am- they woke him up to play reyes who was worn out from the all day play at tournament and money matches after the tourn..

  • actually hes the best english user in pool world... hahahaha -- not english speaker

  • lol

  • PINOY AKO AT PROUD AKO!

  • People needs to learn not to compete with Efren if there's a big pot of money at stake... You won't win against him... No one won against him if the pot is more than 100k dollars LMAO

  • Rock on Efren! We will take all the" american money!"heheheh

  • who gives a shit about his english....his the greatest pool player ever ..thats whats counts...

  • @interrupt33 when you said english the first thing that came to mind was how he hit the ball looooooooooooool not the way he spaek hahahahahahahahaha

  • @interrupt33 HE SPEAKS AND TALKS ON THE POOL TABLE...

  • @jonnychase1 potang ina mo ka ng poita ka ka tangina mo ka pota ka

  • absolutely

  • huwag kang bastos...ang pinoy ay makatao at hindi bastos...maraming bisaya sa pinas...

  • There are Millions of kids that play billiards in Philippines very well.

  • our "hustlers" can give these "pros" a run for their money!

  • I can't believe someone just made such a dumb statement on an Efren Reyes video. Hustlers look better at the game than they really are, unsurprising because they only play people they know they can beat-which is one of the main principles of hustling. Playing on a professional circuit with players that can match you shot for shot, safety for safety and play for play-it's a completely different game. Get this: "The Hustler" Minnesota Fats has never won a professional tournament in his life.

  • I won't even explain to you why i made that "dumb" statement. If you're Filipino then you know what I said is true.

  • @ancientpimp We know what you're saying is untrue so dream on! You're just jealous cuz you lost to Filipino players before (11-0 or more) and you're rubbing your anger on a video about a one who happens to be the world's GREATEST player! MORE than half of the world's best pool players idolize Pinoys (half of them cite Efren Reyes!) Go to any WPC site player bio and you'll know what I mean! :)

Btw, our hustlers will wipe your hustlers flat on the pool table & they won't know what hit them! ;)

  • efren is BILLARD GOD!!!mabuhay ka abay!!!they should learn to speak pilipino para kay efren, mas ok,db??

  • Go efren!

  • he is a nice and humble person.inside or outsidethe pool.mabuhay ka efren.

  • efren you should get some english lessons l0l...not being racist but it will help you with your fame.same with pacman pacquiao

  • you dont have to be a good english speaker to become really popular in USA.

you think if bobby pacquiao become good english speaker, he will become popular in US? lol

  • oh my god this guy is so humble and laid back

and still kick everybodys butt on the pool

    table what a man,.

  • he exactly like my father when he coughed.(not really sure how to spell the "cof" words..lol)

  • I saw Efren play a couple times. He simply incredible.

  • notice his left hand, he has his hand position

ready to play pool hes doing the close bridge.

hes gotten alot older but i still admire him

humble person. even the guy the god of pool

cant argue with that.its like watching michael

jordan, tiger woods and albert einstein at the

    sametime.

  • holly molly! that was nice. Atleast, americans respect not only the magician but the entire filipino pool players. This is something that reminds everybody that filipinos are pretty damn good.I mean pretty damn! hehehehehe. just kidding. Good luck to rest of the tournament. Go get them! show them some real magic. lol

  • i love efren reyes. big legend but why is he moving his hands so weird while talking. does he already have some coordination problems.

  • He moves his hand to express what he is saying.

  • hindi nakatapos ng highschool si Efren pero at least nakaka relate sya sa interview not perpect but it came from the heart. i like his humility and honesty. that's what make a man great i think. hindi kailangan mahusay tayo sa ingles para maging great.

  • I liked how Aaron questioned Efren on the humidity on tables in 4:10 and Efren acutally explaining how it helps. Very imformative.

  • I think Efren forgot to talk about his son as a new player from Philippines.....

  • Idol talaga! he might not do interviews very well but he plays the best pool out there!

  • i think efren done the interview very well infact because= i really never hear him actually open up like he did here, talking straight up, why he wins the big ones. He is usually very humble. As for his speech, i think he done well, that him basically being tagalog most of his life. The interviewer had timing problems if anyone did lol
