This is my kind of bassist: no ego and got a great talent and has palyed every possible venue. And he's also a Fender Precision player - so he gets my vote. :)
I have never actually known if they ever got married or had kids, ive heard that Glen had, but what of the others? i know johnnys married but no idea about kids, as for steve and paul, i aint got a clue, anyone know?
He said it right here 'a young impressionable kid'.. and all jerks that took advantage of that impressionableness are evil and held responsible. . Ditto for those than took advantage of ALL of us in our youth,
just read the i was a teenage sex pistol book. good read. read the rotten book many years ago. good read. both very different, like johnny said, they each emphasized different syllables of the word Vacant. ah hope the music biz comes back down again too.
Interesting, seems like an interesting bloke and didn't deserve all the stick that he got off Lydon. Yje Sex Pistols turned into a bit of a parody after he left.
I knew Glen Matlock when working in a famous English Pub in Maida Vale, London. Used to talk to him about 3 times a week. He's a weird dude that keeps to himself... make no mistake, he KNOWS he's Glen Matlock and portrays it oh so good. All in all he's not too bad... difficult to talk to though
glen matlock always seemed like a cool guy. So is steve, especially now. Unlike johnny, who he still believes he as to live by his reputation as this snarly guy. I love johnny by the way!!!
He wasn't open minded to the lyrics of Anarchy and that caused a rift between him and Johnny at the time. Ironically it is the only proper studio release to include his fantastic bass work.
Hmm.......well ok then if you insist. And I wasn't implying on his Sex Pistols days. And yet he, I think has been the most open minded out of the lot of them. Don't get me wrong now, I do like John, Paul, & Steve. But I feel that him being more open to different music as in (Green Day) which every Sex Pistol fan wannabe insists that they are sellouts just Cos of the words from John Lydon's mouth....
Well at least Glen can appreciate them. (Thanks to his boys) Oh, & Anarchist & Antichrist are pretty tacky when you think about it. But it's fine everyone has their opinions about Glen. How much do you know, Eh? Cheers!
Glen grounded the Sex Pistols. He helped conceive just about every song on Never Mind The Bollocks cept Holidays and Bodies.
He wrote most of their first destinctive Sex Pistols song Pretty Vacant helping to forge their identity in the beginning.
Mattlocks bass work does not appear on the Bollock's LP cept for Anarchy.
Chris Thomas feels that Steve Jones' "pansa division" bass sound was great so you have to listen to the Dave Goodman demos to hear Glen's driving bass runs.
I look at old videos of my punk band and realize I stole every move from Glen. Still one of my biggest heros to this day.

nevermind the bollocks feels incomplete without matlock...listen to the recordings where he plays to see what i mean.
p.s.the only thing a sex pistols fan needs is their boxed set, correct me if im wrong

If you wanna hear Glen's best work with the Pistols (as far as his bass playing goes) check out the track "(Don't Give Me) No Lip".
