I didn't know there was a video of Valerie in L'Incoronazione di Poppea so it's an absolute joy to find this. She delights me in everything she appears in - such a wonderful singer.
I agree that Valerie Masterson is a very fine singer with so much warmth, beauty and colour in her performances. There are many other singers you can listen to on Youtube and learn plenty about technique, interpretation et cetera. These include Maria Callas, Joan Sutherland, Renee Fleming, Angela Gheorghiou among others. Best of luck with your singing career!
plaese keap most as much of Masterson as you can! i am an 18 year old singer-in-trainign myself and have only recently discovered, and fallen in love with, valerie... she is such a wonderful performer to look up to! ^_^
please please, someone could post the maria ewing video, from Glyndebourne??? it¨s excellent, for my one of the best of this opera.
